If MS is getting an RPM signal when you crank then I bet your dizzy is probably working fine. Has it snowed/rained recently by any chance? My 280z is going crazy from the rain, like refusing to start or backfiring then dying while driving. Turned out it was water at the fusible links and stuff. But today it just plain refused to start and I had to buy starting fluid... never ever had this problem before. With MS at least you can do something about it. Plug in your laptop and make sure all the sensors are in the appropriate range. If you're getting fuel, you might have fouled out the spark plugs. (NGKs seem to be really sensative to fouling). You can also do a gate test on the HEI module. If your HEI and input checks out you might have somehow damaged the board's output side. Mario

14/20 not counting some corrections Mario

Is MS getting an RPM signal? Plug in your PDA or laptop and you should see about ~300rpm while cranking. I'm thinking something probably got knocked loose. Check your connection between MS and the relay board, and the jumper and connections on the relay board itself. Mario -
Is it a ZX? If so I've seen it before, it was even on Discovery Channel because the owner was doing that electric postal truck for drag racing too. Mario

Woohoo found the part! I've never heard about BAP Import (I guess it's a southern AZ thing) but they had the master complete with one year warranty for $35! I parked it in an alley way and tore at it. The pin in the pedal is such a b!tch to get back in but everything's working right now. I got one of my roommates to pump the pedal. Bled and everything. Grabs nice but it's still a little high (I think I might mod the the rod in the slave cylinder to make it adjustable). Woohoo! Anyways... I think I might join the Tucson Z club now that I'm down here Thanks again guys, Mario

No one seems to have it in stock. I'm going to try again to find it today (few more parts stores to call around). If at all I will see if they have the rebuild kit at least. If I park in the alley behind the apartment complex after 5:30 I should be alright to work on it. Problem is it will get dark soon afterwards. Veritech, when my Z had stock suspension I could in fact bleed from underneath without jacking it up. Now I need at least a 2x4 under a tire before most jacks will even fit underneath it... What REALLY sucks is I have a date tomorrow... dammit I need a car... Mario

Thats awesome but there's so much heat on that side of the engine. I wonder if that would affect the S/c being so close to the headers. Someone posted a link to a ~$75 damper with only one groove and holes drilled and tapped for a custom pulley. I think I might buy one of those and make a pulley that sits in there. Also, preventing slippage is all about tensioner placement. I was looking at a kit for a 06 mustang s/c and the belt almost went all the way around the pulley! From ROUSH I need to make the pulley first to figure out the mounting, and if I can prove to my dad that I can make it without a/c here in Tucson I'll be riping all of that out. I just need to find a place to work... Mario

Thanks for the link! I'm trying to locate the part now and waiting for a friend to come back and see if he'll let me use his space. If I can't I'll post on the tucsonz.com board. Sadly I can't find it locally so far... Any good local parts stores that might have it in stock? Thanks, Mario

Anyone wan'a get into the guauge buisness

Hmm... yea. I wonder how you hook up EL sheet and if you can cut it. If you can then you just have to put a vynil gauge print over it and there you go, reverse glow gauges for the cheap! Mario -
Nice! Thanks for the link! This makes it so much easier to bolt on a serpentine belt pulley to supercharge my Z! Keep everyone updated! Mario

Each time it flashes it is reading the O2 sensor I think. It stays on become it goes into open-loop at a certain rpm and ignores it (just uses a preconfigured fuel map). Mario

What Z? For a 280zx you have to change the whole pedal assembly. For the first gens you can just swap the pedals. Mario

Long Story Ok, so before it was time to go to college at U of A, my clutch fluid started disappearing. I checked the bottom of the car and the slave cylinder was moist. It was replaced, and all was well. Fast forward 1.5 weeks. About to drive up Catalina Mountains (going to check tire pressure and fill up first), clutch feels funny, then I loose pretty much all clutch pressure (car sat all weekend). I moved off the road and checked clutch fluid level, nearly all gone. Short Story Looks like my master cylinder died (clutch fluid on driver footwell). I'm going to rebuild it. So here is where I can use some help, I believe I have all the tools to do the job, but I need a place where I can work on it (stupid apartment complex...). That and I need to be able to raise the car and bleed it (would need help bleeding it as well, just someone to pump the pedal). Any takers? I think I have enough fluid to get all the parts necessary and I'd only need space for 1 hour (maybe 2 tops). I have a set of tools with me, I'd buy the parts and I'd pay for dinner or something... (I'm broke cuz of college). Please, if anyone can help e-mail me or post, thanks! Mario

should I try 'em???
mario_82_ZXT replied to lbhsbZ's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Yea, which translates to 4x4.5. 4x4.25 is the old 4 lug mustang pattern. I've read it a few times that Mustang wheels will fit but I'm still not convinced... Mario -
2, cut one in half then cut the 1st and 4th cylinder on the second and put them together. Mario

Speaking of addictions.... One of my roommates was so pissed off yesterday morning cuz the university cut off our internet, which in turn meant no WoW... Needless to say I fixed the problem and he made me pancakes for breakfast haha. Mario

It was this ZX. He sold the ZX engineless with the engine in another auction. Sounds so awesome when it's driving, like a jet on wheels! Mario

Anybody watch Ninja Warrior on Tech tv?

They had a full competition back to back some holiday ago... Needless to say I sat through the whole thing and saw the beginning to the very end and saw the only other guy to complete the course. Some of the things they do are amazing! Mario -
Yea, school started driving me insane. Plus I decided I didn't need to get that much in debt just for undergrad... (*cough $25k cough*) And I have my car here and I'm not freezing to death haha Plus here I can major in Electrical Engineering, minor in Computer Eng and Math, all for a little less course load then NU and pennies compared to in price. Seriously, if you need help or are going to start it, lemme know, I'll drive up in a minute haha Good luck with it, Mario

EMWHYR0HEN is running an RB25 though, it will probably sound different on an L series. Thanks for the props OTM! With it fully sealed up (only lasted a few days... f'ing speedbumps) I could get explosions out the back decelerating at certain rpms! It sounds amazing! It isn't loud on the highway or at really low rpms (<2k). Can't really hear anything but the exhaust while accelerating though... and talking with most girls is nearly impossible... Little kids (well, and us not so little kids) love the exhaust note. I love the looks I get! I'm thinking of replacing both glasspacks with bullet mufflers, and the drone at ~2.2k is head hurting, so it's always below or above that. Mario

Hey now that I'm in Tucson you guys have to let me know when you're gonna fire it up!!! I wouldn't mind missing classes to see this bad boy running! Mario
