  1. The Kameari gaskets on eBay that come with ARP head bolts can be had for about 25% less with the best offer button on eBay.
  2. My random guess would be you have a leaky windshield that has been leaking for an eternity. The area probably kept recieving moisture and it has rusted and weakened, causing the failure.
  3. You're misinformed about superchargers. Most have vacuum operated bypasses, so that it takes basically no HP to turn them on cruise/light throttle stuff. The Merc electronic clutch S/C is for a small 4 cylinder engine, and as far as I'm aware, the larger ones (that would be best suited for this) do not use an electronic clutch. Also, have you priced out an RB26?

    3" exhaust?

3in is way too big for a basically stock 280z. That said stay away from glasspack resonators, dynaflow and such make steel filled ones.
  5. I would love to see pictures of your mounts!
  6. I've had the config error come up if you have an output set as 2 different things in different dialog boxes. Try updating the firmware, manually entering all the settings (not burning the old ones), shutting power to it then turning it back on.
  7. You might end up chewing up those tires if you lower it before cutting the fenders...
  8. Other then for the constants, I don't really see a use in providing MSQs. Every engine runs different, and I don't like to think I could have helped blow up a car with my tune. That said, the startup, engine constants, warm-up stuff, etc, sure, but you can see those in the sharing sticky. For the fuel map, get yourself a wideband and familiarize yourself with the multiple ways of tuning A drivable map can be done in about 30mins worth of time.
  9. I had a similar spacer on my first megasquirted car. I drilled and tapped it for the AIT sensor for the megasquirt. It seemed to help with the heat soak on hot starts.
  10. Do you have to order it online? In my town there's quite a few fastener suppliers, most cheaper then McMaster and they can order specialty stuff too.
  11. I would put money on the CHTS or it's wiring. Test at the sensor, then back probe the connector at the sensor, then check at the ECU.
  12. I bought one a few year's back from checkers for like $15 bucks. I'd think they should still be available.
  13. That said, Tunerstudio is a lot nicer and more user friendly. It's a huge step forward and well worth the money. Of course you can get your MS running on megatune or the free tunerstudio too..
  14. Maybe BBS should come out with a "budget" serious for us poh folk. Chinese car parts have hurt a lot of the big wigs.
  15. The only bad thing about these is they aren't closed loop. Anyone running Megasquirt can accomplish the same with about $40 in parts. I've seen people run second injector channels (on like AEMs) to accomplish the same thing as well.
  16. It was -20something-ish F at my parent's house. We forgot the turbo Z had a low anti-freeze to water ratio because of water wetter. The water in the waterpump and radiator froze (and possibly in the block). Luckily getting it into the garage where it thawed slowly we seem to have not damaged anything. No popped core plugs or busted radiator tubes. My $300 parts car cranks really slowly even with a new battery in the cold mornings (36F woot!).
  17. I've played both. I just got a wheel for my xbox 360. In fact 4 of my friends (3 with PS3s) are converts as well. The S30 is lightyears better in looks, modifications, interior, etc then GT5. Even the graphics are better! And Forza 4 was announced for next year! I think we got duped on GT5...
  18. I believe they did at one point. If you want one now they'll charge you tooling (in the thousands) plus each gasket afterwards. And the per gasket price was still more then the Kameari one on eBay. (this is as of 1 month ago)
  19. I think you're overthinking the resistor part. You literally put a resistor between 12v and that wire that goes to pin 24. You can do that by your relay board to simplify the wiring.
  20. Everything. There is very limited space underneath the intake manifold, and underneath that there's the steering linkage to deal with. The manifold is cast steel, not iron, and welds pretty good.
  21. I don't think it will fit. If you're going to be making it, which requires welding, why not just weld the adapter onto the manifold itself ala 240hoke?
  22. The megamanual is more of a universal/basic theory kind of manual. You should really be following Moby's or DIYautotune's install guides. Also, if you're running MS2 on a newer board, have you built the ignition driver circuit? If so, you don't even need an HEI module.
  23. How about this? http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/70220-interest-in-custom-distributor-trigger/page__view__findpost__p__665586 I'm thinking of having wheels cut to fit the stock CAS with the 36-1 EDIS pattern so you could use EDIS or just MS off of the stock turbo dizzy. (Basically for a street setup under 8k RPM)
