  3. Thanks Phil, that is some exciting news. I don't want to go coil over if i can help it since i have ST springs and new shocks. I might consider cutting my quarters for zgs though. That 245 fills to ZG's just fine in my opinion. Folks that go for the rota rbs(maybe me) will get another 1/4'' WITH THE -4 offset
  4. Hey Phil, I am rereading your posts and didn't see if you mentioned what suspension you are running . Stock springs?? Just trying to find out if the 245's would hit stock perches with the sportmax. thanks
  5. Found those on e-bay for 25$. They had excellent feedback and their prices are great.
  6. Well i hope these will look good. That was a tough decision. What do you think?
  7. That's one reason I didn't do my exhaust in SS. I wasn't sure what I was doing as far as welding SS and those SS pieces are to expensive to be screwing up. I just did mine in mild steel and later after i study and practice with SS I might duplicate my exhaust in SS. This exhaust stuff sure gets expensive quick. I've got 250$ in mine in mild steel so I figure it would be 500$ in SS. And I am running 12$ glasspacks . I guess dual exhaust makes it a little more $$$$$
  8. Dave, i can't quite picture what your saying ,maybe a pic would help. I run for CSX and for the most part I like the GMs the best . The sd 70's are pretty amazing , nothing fancy , just gets it done well.
  9. Damn I am having a hard time deciding which tips to get. I also can't believe how $$$$$$$$ some of these are. I am considering two sets of dual SS tips out the back--what do you think. I also wonder how restrictive the monza dual tips would be with built in resonators. I need to make up my mind so I can finish this up:confused2 :confused2
  10. pre 70's camaro but I think early 65 mustang would fit better
  11. Thanks John. Actually the exhaust will be removable . Someone showed me the bandclamps for exhaust and i will be using them to connect the rear section(behind the diff) to the front. I will also use the band clamps to connect to the header. Picked up my 12" glasspacks today. I wish i could have fitted longer ones but it's to tight in there. Now I need to decide what tips:?:
  12. Buy the insurance for 10$ and don't worry about it for a year or 2. I bought a heat gun for 10$ and another 10$ got 2 year warranty. Just take it back in an exchange it if you have any problems. I also just bought a 12" table disc sander for 100$. The thing weighs 85lbs and runs quiet. I bought the insurance for 10$ so I am covered for another year. I couldn't find anything that came close to that for that price though i know it's a cheap tool it will probably last me forever as much as i use it as a hobbyist. I bought the sander to do my exhaust system, what a life saver for making those angles.
  13. I thought of doing the flip filler door thing but wasn't sure about the support either. I didn't mind the side door anyway , I just wanted a fuel cell that sat centered so I could run dual exhaust so I did it with a cj-5 tank. It is one of the few tanks that actaully fill from the same side as the Z. The rear flip door would be cool and if you didn't need an actal fuel cell an early camaro fuel tank or mustang tank would work. The camaro tank is real low profile but wide.

    cj-5 tank

My "fuel cell" , actaully a cj-5 plastic tank . This pick shows how it will line up with existing down tube
  16. I never did find one so I made that one. Just takes 2 -90 degree bends and 4 -45 degree bends and a welder , oh ,and a lot of patience. I thought about using a 2.25" crossover but decided to build my own. At 90$ for a dynoflow , i about bought half of my whole system for that. besides, you are limited to working around their dimensional specs for incorporating into a Z chassis. i did find someone that did make a 2" Xover the other day when i picked up my glasspacks and i can find it somewhere if you like?
  17. So I guess i am still wondering where the best place to weld in my bung for someone to use a wide band set-up to help me tune my car. It will be easy while I am building the exhaust right now and I want to put it in the most convient place.
  18. Check out my post in the exhaust section. Where do you think would be the best place for the bungs on my set-up? I'm not clear on how they hook up there equipment to the sensor.
  19. i thought it needed to be as close to the header as possible?
  20. Pete, I have never done any dyno time but I was thinking if I had bungs welded in my duals then I could have someone else install their wide band to help me tune my N/A 2.4? Is that what they would do if I had my engine dyno tuned? I could get the precision tune without all the cost of the equipment. Or does the shop expect you to have a sensor installed and they hook their equipment to it?
  21. I am running 2" only for my p-30.
  22. My version of twice pipes finally starting be be a reality. Some of the most challenging but fun fabricating I've done. I wish I was initially brave enough to do this in SS but wasn't sure how it would turn out. Can't wait to hear it!!!!!!
