I out shot everyone at the testing range with the recruits in the navy, they asked me how did I become so good, I told them, Duck hunt. We were suppose to shoot center of mass so I figured I'd shoot the silhouette in the head, instructor said knock that off, so I shot it in the heart, he said show off and left me alone. I did get a little nervous seeing where some rounds were going, some did not get any further then 10ft, yikes!

What a waste of life those guys in the truck are. Pretty easy to prove the weapon was used properly. Their is sooo much intent on the part of those idiots. If someone is trying to diagnose a clunk with a divining rod or a Ouija board, the most helpful thing I think you can do is to tell them that their test isn't going to help. Ohh so going to have to put that in a sig, funny stuff J.

I will take a stab at this. Bolt stretch and head thickness. (expansion contraction of the head.) Could also be the spacing of bolts.

Since we are kinda on the subject and the answer was given, anyone know how to bypass the limiter on the cruise? I believe the speedo is involved, however, I don't want to take the dash apart.

Not to my knowledge. However, the cruise had a limiter.

Pull a plug and look for dished pistons.

Humm you miss the last part of my post number 6? Removing that cover may cause some leakage at the oil pan. Locktite the bolt on the harmonic balancer, or do the upgrade. Replace chain, just for good measure. Replace water pump. Replace front crank seal. Removing that cover takes some work. Mine was a POS. I did not know about that tensioner so I got the pleasure of removing that cover. Since it is off, LOOK for more possibilities of cracks that caused you initial problems!

Good luck man! I smoke, choose to pick it up in the Navy. Getting closer to wanting to stop, don't smoke around the kids at all. When I do quit I have swore not to become a self-righteous pig,,,, a smoke nazi. Sure it's a bad habit, yet it's not as bad as,,,well....spending above your means and then.....or,,,etc,etc. When any children, (family or not) says something, I always tell them it is a bad habit, never start. In part, for some reason a lot of children like me and I don't want my short comings influencing them as well. By choice. And besides it gives way to consideration when I may have to adress short coming in their own life. I suspect there will be some understanding of humility that they will have a hard time ignoring.

Who rebuilds and engine and doesn't locktite the crank pulley bolt, and use cylindrical locking compound? Especially when 'the directions' say to do so? Me. Lesson learned though. The "pop" sound upon installation was not just the key ways lining up. You see, if I had done everything correctly then I would not have a smile on my face now. I did my first top end build without instructions, I do love a challenge. Some mistakes are acceptable, for me. Learned about the tensioner the hard way, however, replaced the chain because of it. Knowing what I know now, I may be temped to mic the key for alignment and weld it. Then drive it carefully while looking for another long block. Once that is in hand drive it harder. If it fails, well then you gots ye self a story. The only problem, you are responsible if anyone gets hurt. You have to weigh that yourself. Thinking about this more, in lue of information given to you, it might make you look like a dolt. Things that make you go hummm.

My need for speed has dropped considerably. Over the years I've posted some pics and made comments of my friend Steve and his factory five ac cobra. Pretty much all the goodies for a 351 Windsor, with tt. I forget exact numbers, something like 820 rwhp, (at the time 3.0 rear) and weighs roughly 2400lbs. At least now he can hit 58 mph from a dead stop at a light to the other side, four lane of course. This car exceeds your understandable knowledge, it will cause the butt dyno to peg! The seats are kinda straight back, Yet you don't just feel like you getting pushed back in your seat, it is more like up, due to the seat having a slight recline. Four point seat belts help. Pulling in fourth at around 140mph, the tires would start to break loose. Now he has street slicks. The sound of the engine, air and ginormous fuel pump, just kinda disappear at full boost. All sense just gets pegged. I just have one big s..tting grin, even after the rides are over. About 30% of grown men are only good for 1 ride. It is kinda like, wow, no smile and a thanks, thats it. Yes the car is grocery getter. Yes it is wrong to speed, however, it only takes like 4 secs to go from 70 to 140. Then the massive breaks kick in. It is not like those long periods of time other need to hit those speeds. This is why I've considered a na straight six, (probably not the l6) 250ish hp in a all around great car. 280zx big breaks and handling.. Just a fun car to drive. If I ever get the urge, I'll just re calibrate with a ride from steve. I'll get the number off him later in order for some to even believe me. He pretty much only nails it at the drag strip, things happen so fast with the car that you start to understand that reaction time is slow compared with the car. BTW he is hitting 145/150 before the end of the 1/4 mile, runs out of fourth gear. (auto)
