I just watched all your videos you're making great progress looks good

I haven't mounted my seats yet but I'm using Sparco R100. I used the original rails from my 240Z, I just drilled a couple extra holes in each rail bigger than the original holes I used a step drill and went down one more size bigger, and used flat top 8x1.25 phillips head screws, that was enough clearance for the mechanism to work mounted to the seats. Granted I don't have my car it's still at the shop finishing up my engine swap, so I don't know how they will slide when weight is applied but I don't see a problem yet, pretty sure the holes will have to be slotted that should be it.

Another slow progress dream car build
JGREEZY replied to grayson260z's topic in S30 Series - 240z, 260z, 280z
Love your build just remember while your welding put in lots of structural reinforcements never have too much, stitch weld your seems, and get some baddog frame rails, and all that other good stiff sh*t. I'm doing the same swap http://instagram.com/p/wRnwheyM2B/ -
I'm going to be happy with the stock configuration for now, from what I've read you can get 400+ just with a little laptop tuning. The sky's the limit from there I've seen 2J's that get 1200 hp with one big ass turbo. Everything else on my car is stock for right now, and I really don't want to put any more than that on it. I was going to do the 3.0 Rebelo engine at the most about 280 - 300 hp depending on how much $$$ you spend. by the time you get any where north of 300hp, you would have nearly spent as much as a swap with a 400hp base to start with. that's what got me thinking and I talked to another shop that I was looking at, and they're the ones who suggested the 2JZ, after I inquired about an RB swap. they brought up all the pro's an con's, the exact same that grayson260z pointed out in his first post. I was sold after that. I justify the Toyota part as saying it is the RB's evil cousin LOL. http://instagram.com/p/wRnwheyM2B/

Yeah I changed my mind and cancelled. I'm going to stick with the painless I already have that came with a parts car. don't know what I was thinking.

Luv your build I'm knee-deep in a 2JZ VVTI right now. Question for you is your VVTI fly by wire throttle body and if so did you have to use the non-VVTI throttle body? -
CARBON FIBER PORN!!!! PUT ME DOWN FOR 1 FOR SURE

Whats up guys need some help. Looking for a left hand window regulator for a 1972 240 Z mine took a crap today the pin fell out that holds the gear in place for the crank
-
also check out 2jzswap.com they have what you'll need. he makes a complete wiring kit. Here is another link to some guys doing harneses. www.tweakdperformance.com the guys at the shop use them all the time. they have them already set up, and they're great with the VVTI engine too. Here's the instagram link my car they're info is on their page too and facebook too. http://instagram.com/p/wRnwheyM2B/

I got talked into the same swap. It just makes sense there's plenty of aftermarket & oem support for the 2jz. I pulled the trigger on a 2JZGTE VVTI. I have a shop doing my swap petrolwerks.com in Lindenhurst N.Y.

2JZGTE Swap Wiring Harnesses - Plug and Play
JGREEZY replied to wiring specialties's topic in Toyota L6 Forum
I have a 2JZ VVTI with an automatic transmission going into a 1972 240Z will your harness work with my engine plug n play? -
Well I bit the bullet and got a 2jz VVTI with an auto trans.
-
I'm considering on doing this swap in my 72 240Z, i'm just about to jump in, not sure if I'm going to pay a shop, or try and tackle it. before I buy the engine, I hope some of you guys that have done the swap can give some input. like should i try and find a non-vvti engine, what type of problems does the vvti engine pose, over the other. Also my car is manual transmission now, what would it take to convert to auto the manual trans cost as much as the engine. here are some pics of the car now
