  1. those look sick man...those would be my second choice only to some 16x10 watanabes...just for the retro look. I think the ZG flares would really complete the look.
  2. if someone wanted to get real tricky (perfect for some of the drifting setups) you could rig some stock brake caliper to this little guy. trying to dream this one up now... http://www.ksportusa.com/products/ebrake.html
  3. I read in a Performance Ignition book (By Dr. Jacobs ((formerly)) of Jacobs Electronics) and i recall that the spark jumps better from a sharp corner than from a radius edge. I see that by eliminating the sharp edges you dont get any hot spots, but i guess if the ignition system is powerful enough it wont matter sharp vs rounded corners... correct me if im wrong...
  4. cheapturbos.com has good prices for garrett t3/t4's and package deals with BOV, WG, and I/C. there isnt much risk (relatively) in getting a brand new garrett. jus my $0.02...
  5. I say that you can go to school and build the car at the same time...just dont expect on completing it anytime soon! I especially know this, as i am going to school out of state (also an accounting major btw.) and only getting to work on it during summer is really getting to me. although, it give lots of time to read up and do research! im hoping to make a bad a$$ street fighter but cars are getting faster and faster nowadays...shhesh i wish i had my car done when a cold air intake, cams, and header were considered the norm. mods! now turbo kits are everywhere!
  6. i think its really funny those of us think its so cool, just by the "ninja-like" stealth of that. -candidate for ultimate sleeper- I think the remote turbo was just intended for the specific V8 market that wanted the same thing this guy did...confuse the crap out of people.
  7. if you needed black ones, the Engergy Suspention bushing kit came with them...if your picky about color...
  8. was that on the 7M or the L28ET? what air temps was that at also?
  9. boy am I sad to read this thread...not because of any bad things done, but because I bought not one but 2 ($200 each) of these types from a chinese guy out of a shipping container... really wish someone had brought this up sooner (or maybe I should have searched more)
  10. will the paint have any effect on the cooling of the air? will it hinder the tranfer of heat from the aluminum to the outside air?
  11. is it just me or does that black manifold look like its got a T4 flange on it while the other has a T3? maybe the person put the other flange on and relocated it...the black one is definitely bigger....
  12. since when was limited aftermarket support a limiting factor? i didnt know they were that much heavier...thanks tho.
  13. has anyone looked into swapping a ford I6? the 300 ci (4.9L) that came in many trucks (and mustangs) is really cheap, and there is a guy who did a decent turbo setup and is making well over 500 lb.-ft. of torque and 300 hp to the wheels with 18psi...not much of a revver tho...any thoughts?
  14. there was a thread about getting the wheels widened...might wanna look into that.
  15. that really depends on your price range. look at Tomei. they have a very good reputation and sell built and "virtually" bulletproof (never heard of anyone testing the limits). they are pretty pricey...but they look niiiiice!
  16. so the general concensus is that the M90 is the happy medium btwn the M112 and the M62?
  17. i think personally that the gain adjustment would be more beneficial than inside boost adjustment...i guess this is one of those items where personal preference is most important...like shift knobs
  18. has anyone considered the use of the M112 s/c? or will the M90 flow more than necessary? usually the z guys go for biggest and best...lol
  19. i only played the game and saw like the first couple episodes. i could never find the later ones. i like the idea of ITB's, but they would cost more than the turbo setup i bought lol. what were they going for...about $2500??
  20. technically it should be as close to the intake valve as possible for the most accurate reading, most put it on their intake manifold, some put it in front of the throttle body (what i will be doing).
  21. that sounds very enticing but the last thing i need right now is another car sitting at my dad's house (already 3 240Z's and a stripped ZX). ill try to coax him into it!
  22. i figured that making the linkage for the steering would be the best bet, but ive always wanted a RHD car...getting out of the car right onto the curb is awesome 280ZForce, yea it was cool to finally meet some more Z guys, too bad the weather was so crappy or i could have seen all the guys cars. sorry to say it but this project wont be started for at least a year or two because i am moving to Hawaii for college and my dad (whose house it is at) wont have the time/motivation that i have to get it done.
  23. check it out!!! you were right...the steering linkage wont clear the rear turbo without relocation/RHD conversion.
  24. i am not going the twin turbo route cause i think that the single turbo is not what i need, because i am building my daily driver with a single T3/T4...i was looking to replicate the Devil Z wangan monster! lol. well not exactly cause i do not want to deal with tripple carbs. i think it was a good deal cause i got the manifold, w/g, 2 turbos, oil lines, and extra flanges and gasgets.
  25. it came with two small mitsubishi turbos. i looked it up and they are used on volvos... i got it from (you guessed it) RHD Japan for a little over $700! they have been putting it on sale and it kept getting cheaper and cheaper! so i jumped on it lol... i havent gotten it home yet but if it doesnt clear then i guess i will have to (twist my arm right?) RHD conversion. so all you turbo gurus...will these be small guys be up to the task of maybe...400 WHP?
