  1. Here you go as I promised. Some pictures of the wheel tubs for our 28x9x15 slicks. The metal I welded has come off, but you can see what I was talking about. Something I need to fix. John
  2. I will be working on the zcar tonight an will take some photo's. All i did was trim out what I needed to. in order for the slicks to fit and then welded the curve back in and a little bondo. John

  4. I just checked and I guess I missed it. Was it on stock suspension, or tubbed out? Jerry
  5. Good going Warren, I know it must of felt good. Good times as well, keep up the tuning. At least you know all of your hard work has payed off. I am hoping we will see you in October. Switching to Alky is a pain in the A$$. Have to change everything, but I hope it will payoff as well. Just waiting on the machine shop to finish the balancing of the crank, rods, and pistons. John
  6. Great Pass, makes me wonder maybe we need to change our direction, maybe build a 6cly with a turbo. jerry
  7. Hello Warren, If me and Jerry can do anything for you or your family please let us know. You have our phone numbers. Our thoughts and prayers are w/ you and your family. John and Jerry
  8. We are using stock springs (1976 280Z ) with CARQUEST struts for what it is worth. If you have any questions PM us, we would be glad to help. Jerry
  9. Thats AWESOME, that You and Your Dad can do that together.:2thumbs:Jerry
  10. Jap Tin, are there any videos posted of your car? Jerry
  11. We installed a Jegs cage in the Z. When I get a chance this week I will take some pics for you. If I remember correctly we did not have to modify it much. They do make them a little long in length so you can them to fit. John
  12. We love the R200, we will really stress test it with the new engine combo....more to come.
  13. I agree, it is nice work Myron. Please keep us posted. John
  14. On our R200, we welded the spiders similar to yours but with more penetration, but we also welded them to the carrier and go all the way around. I used an old Lincoln AC 225 stick welder and turned up the heat. Have not had any problems. John
  15. I think I know the plug you are talking about, it is to the left of the normal oil line hook uo, the head at the rear barely covers it about half of it. If is an oil passage. It should have a 3/8 pipe plug in it. On my engine I always pack alot of silicone in that area all around the back. SBC are prone for oil leaks. You should be able to clean the area with some either / starting fluid and fill in area with silicone. Are you sure you sealed the rear of the intake? If oil leaks from the back it will flow downwards and will accumulate there. I use silicone, I form a bead for the front and rear of the intake and let it get tacky then put on the intake. I do not use the stock cork or rubber gasket. Hope this helps.... John
  16. Liked the video...... Also the Dyno assistant.... John
  17. Hey Dale, Great that you went to the Dyno. When are you going to post video, I know you took some? Tell me the truth now was it an experience or not. The Dyno is a little over whelming is it not. How did you like hearing that motor roar....... Good numbers to me for an old engine with that many miles on it. But like they say when an engine has a lot of miles on it, it gets loose and loose is good. Less friction. Hell I would re-ring it, maybe do some head work and put normal headers on it and throw away the block hugger headers. Change the camshaft and go with a good Hydraulic roller that Comp cams reccomend for your setup. John
  18. The blow down tube needs to be vented outside of the car. Yes the nitrous bottle and feed line can be installed in the car. Note when mounting the fuel solenoid make sure the fuel regulator is not mounted on the firewall. NHRA specs are no fuel mounted to the firewall. Also note you must have a neutral safety switch as well, I know nothing to do with nitrous but wanted to add it. Also you will need a radiator catch can, not a beer can but a real catch can. If you need anymore help please let me know.... John
  19. Well if you need anything, I think we brought the whole shop with us except for the sink. My Bad, John just informed me we do have the sink.Drive safe,See you there.Jerry
  20. Wanye, I wish me and John were your neighbors because we would be up late helping you with the change. Look forward to seeing you on Sat. Jerry
  21. A member here aronshop was watching the pinks all outtakes on the speed channel and noticed out Zcar on it. It is only about 1.2 seconds, it shows us racing a blue s10 pickup, he is out ahead of us but we do catch him and out run him. If any one is interested in seeing the footage here is the youtube link. John PS: Need to watch closely, it goes by so quick. It is at the beginning.
  22. We have a 240Z, straight body, no rust. It has been basically back halfed with a sub frame installed. Or should I say started to install. My brother Jerry bought it to do an all out race car, it has a narrowed 9 inch ladder bar rear end, all interior. He might be interested in selling it since it has just been sitting. We seem to always be to busy working on the Zcar to work on any other projects of our own. PM us if you are interested. I will try to take some photos and post them after the DNI shootout. John
