  1. David, Why would you even waste your time by emailing this guy and letting him know that "it’s never going to happen"?? Couldn't you have just let him go on his merry way instead of posting a "rag on another Z seller cause he's asking too much" post? Six months from now his price will be lowered and someone will buy it. It’s very tempting to say something, however next time try to resist and let the dreamers go and move on...
  2. John, Yes that's it. Here is a pic: Thanks, Joe

  4. I am using Modern Motorsports CV companion flange with 280Z stub axles. I am also converting to rear disc using Modern Motorsports brackets. Is the metal backing plate located behind the stub axle needed? The reason that I am asking is that I am painting the stub axles (minus the shaft;)) and I need to know if those need to be reinstalled when I put new studs in it? It’s the square bracket that is held in once the studs are in place from behind. Thanks,
  5. Clint (Stony) pointed me here right after I came back to the states from Okinawa Japan. He and I were stationed together. This was back in his FC days (remember Clint?) lol... I had the Nissan bug already going since early 90's, started with owning Skylines then this happened: Circa 1998 went for a ride in my first "full tune" S130 Z. She was nasty 3.1 liter, triple 50's, OS Giken Twin Plate to name a few. Here we are pulling out for the ride: After a 10 minute run at neck break speeds pulling back into the shop: Can't see my face but I am grinning from ear to ear. This was the moment that changed me forever. The sights, sounds and smells ahhhhh : Here she is: Anyways, I lurked around here after joining zcar.com left their and joined in 2000 and haven’t looked back since. Thanks Clint!!!!
  6. Nice write up Paul, we should sticky this reply...
  7. Jon, If you have the room I would go with a 4 point tie town system. Back when I use to run rollback part time when I was in the military this is what I used: The pros with this system is that you are strapping the wheel to the car hauler. The suspension is the only thing that will move around. This eliminates using a strap through a wheel or hooking chains/J-hook up to a suspension piece/body and potentially causing damage. The tires are strong and sturdy and won't give. The cross brace going across the front of the wheel is soft and the D rings that it slides through allows you to offset the D ring so you won't scratch the wheel. Plus they are 5000lb rated each! I prefer this style over the rest. One continous strap per each wheel: Here is another one:

JE, Ross, BRC to name a few. Search my friend there is a wealth of information on this site. Good Luck!!
  9. Looking great!! Keep the pics coming..
  10. You drilled a new hole where??? In the head or exhaust manifold?? Assuming the stud snapped clear off flush with the head and if your attempted drill and tap it failed. Next step would have been to post here and to see if a fellow hybrider could come to the rescue. If no luck then yes you should take the head off and to a machine shop. Having said that, assuming that you have limited mechanical ability, I wouldn’t attempt to remove the head on my own without help from a mechanic friend and having the service manual there. I would worry about getting the stud out first. You next wise step while its at the machine shop is to have your machinist remove the remaining studs and replace them ALL. The stud kits from Nissan are not that expensive either. IMHO NO! The P90 won't give you much more compared to a E88 or N42. Cylinder head work is a big part of the puzzle but not the only part. You have cam selection, induction, exhaust, to name a few. You have to first decide what you want out of your Z? Keep it N/A or convert to turbo? There are other factors that come with more power like upgrading the suspension and brakes. If your Z is rusted out beyond repair don't even waste your time or money. Find a clean shell or another "project". How fast you want to go equals to how much money you have in the bank. With 210K I would have a compression and leak down test done. If the motor is blowing out any kind of smoke your in need of a rebuild (either top or bottom) and don't waste your time upgrading engine parts now. Focus on upgrading the suspension and brakes. I am sure there are members on here that will lend a hand and some advice. Listen to the advice from others and keep an open mind and know that it won't be cheap. If you can accept that you have to crawl before you can walk it won't be that bad. Answer those questions above to get you started. Good luck and welcome! BTW if you are in DFW change your location in your profile to reflect that.
