  1. Ironman I don't know especially with the new forum type we are now running, Being a long time donating member and having made hundreds of posts I was hoping an Admin would of jumped in by now and answered what I thought was a simple question? Anybody care to give this a shot? Thanks, Greg
  2. Jozizo and 503Alex, Yes please post your progress I would really like to keep this thread going and hopefully and admin will tell me how to edit my first post on this thread to keep the list updated. Chris Stiles and icapture how you making out got any pics and stories to share yet? Thanks everybody and keep those 280Z seat swaps coming. Thanks, Greg
  3. There have been a few threads on this over the years, I know I either replied or posted. I used a Tilton 7/8 master and AN-4 fitting and braided hose, I forget which AutoZone T5 METAL slave I used but it had the GM Qwik-Connect fitting and I needed an adaptor. The T5 slave has a bleed screw. I have had no clutch problems so far and I have enough travel. Probably a search for T5 slave might show up more. try here: http://forums.hybrid..._1entry687777 Here are pics of what I used. Don't loose that freaking pin. it was almost impossible to find one, no local GM dealer had one, some guy on LS1/LT1.com that rebuilds T56 transmissions felt bad for me and dropped two in the mail. Good luck, Greg
  4. I am trying to keep a thread going that I started some time ago. I would like to continue to be able to edit my original post to keep adding information to the original post This is the thread I am talking about: http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/topic/88301-280z-seat-swap-list/ I would think it would be beneficial to all who read this thread to be able to view an updated 280Z seat swap list. As the original poster I do not mind doing this but no longer am able to edit the original post. Is there a way to do this? How is it done like the old Stickies were able to be updated I think? Thanks, Greg
  5. Thrustnut, If you have any pictures or a little write up on your 77 280Z install of these seats please post it here: http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/topic/88301-280z-seat-swap-list/ I am trying to keep a thread alive on 280Z seat installs that fit and how difficult it was dealing with the transmission tunnel hump on the 280Z's. What year Pulsar? I will add it to the list after your comments. Thanks, Greg
  6. Thanks icapture, I am looking forward to your install, What year is the 325is? Stopped at a local pick and pull walked the complete yard looking for any decent leather seats, Only found some decent leather seats in an Audi wagon and a Volvo wagon..I didn't even bother to measure as just by looking I knew they were too wide. Oh well, keep on looking..... Greg
  7. Thanks John, I now understand, why I am bouncing all over the road on Infamous uneven New England patched pot hole roads, I definately need to back them down as well as get a new front wheel alignment, My 78 with stock springs and KYB shocks is much better behaved but doesn't take Smooth pavement corners as quickly.
  8. So John If I may ask a stupid question with 5 way adjustable Illuminas I should start at the lowest setting of 1 and then progressively work my way up or start at 5 and work my way back down? Running Motorsport Blue lowering springs, 1" strut spacer in front LT1V8/T56 and 88 300ZX CLSD 1-7/8" Suspension Technics front sway. Lowered rear sway bar mounts 1" to clear drive shaft All Poly bushings everywhere except for tension rods which are the aluminum cup and Nylon type. Thanks, Greg
  9. The RSX seats have been done before in a 280Z, they required some tunnel hump bashing though and I think they sat a little high for the person over 6ft in height. Search the site, it may be posted in the Pinned/Stickie for seat swaps. I don't believe the BMW 3 Series seats have been installed in a 280Z yet. They already have been installed in the 240Z and 260Z Again do a search, Search is your best friend, the list of seats in the first post have all been confirmed installs and can be located on this site by searching. Thanks, Greg
  10. So the 1988 Subarau Legacy does not exist, I pulled that off the original car seat swap list, Hmm I'll have to search that one again. So 90-96 300ZX seats fit the 280Z as well? can someone confirm this with pics or something. I was going to edit the list but can't seem to be able to edit my original post, am I missing something here? I wanted to keep this list going for all to benefit from the 280Z seat swap list by keeping it updated as other contributed confirmed swaps. Maybe a moderator will rad this and let me know how to keep the original post/list going. Thanks, Greg
  11. Did you need any spacers or have any rubbing issues? Anyone go with a slightly wider tire on these 16X8 wheels? Will a 76 280Z have different clearance? I have the Motorsport Blue springs and 5 way Tokiko Illumiunas Currently running old school 15X7 Enkei mesh and 205/60's if I remember right Had to put 280 rubber strut blocks back in, the 240 rubber strut blocks ended up being too low and rubbed once the suspension re-loaded Thanks, Greg
  12. This could be real interesting, I'll be following this thread with great interest! Thanks, Greg
  13. Now if we could only get the pictures back to all those great old posts, many a time I am reading a very informative old post only to have no pictures attached to the posts anymore, and some were stickies.
  14. Take care with the wiring on the passenger side near the frame rail, I started to melt the convoluted tubing I used to put all the wires in, those headers get hot. I ended covering up all the convoluted tubing with heat wrap foil, I still may put an aluminum plate shield between the frame rail and the headers. Greg
  15. has not set their status

  16. Figures! the guy sold them before I could get there to check them out! I'll keep looking Greg
  17. TritleZ, there are several threads on the Miata seat swap, do a search. I came across a nice set of 2002 Toyota Celica Leather seats and I am waiting for the person to respond with dimensions, I know I have the 2000 Celica GT on the list already so I'll post this up once I get an answer. If they seem to fit I''l buy them and document the install. Thanks, Greg
  18. It looks like we might be able to add 1987 Pulsar seats, waiting to find out the results of this thread http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/topic/83808-pulsar-seats-almost-in/
  19. Mine are like Nullbounds and with the Sanderson headers I had no problems. Greg
  20. Thanks JHM, I added it to the list Keep em coming! Greg
  21. I added the C5 Corvette and the 1988 Subaru Legacy to the list. Please chime in and talk about your installs also. Thanks, Greg
  22. So what year/model Subaru seat fit? Trying to get this 280Z only swap list going. Thanks, Greg
  23. Ok I have searched pretty extensively and have through these searches come up with this list of swap seats that have been installed in a 280Z one way or another. First and most important facts: the 280Z has only 17.5" of width in the driver side rear seat well, the 240 and 260 have 20" this is due to a hump in the side of the transmission tunnel that was used for a catalytic converter, From what I have read and have also confirmed on both my 78 and 76 280z is that the hump is there even if it is a Federal version car and didn't come with a cat I am hoping others here who read this post and have done seat swaps in a 280Z can chime in and add to the list and maybe add some pictures and tell some stories of success or woe with what it took to get them installed, so here goes. The 280Z seat swap list: *Mazda Miata swaps of 1994, 2004, 2006, 2007 *Pontiac Fiero Toyota Supra MK3 1988 Toyota Celica GT 2000 (required cat hump bashing) Mitsubishi Eclipse GS 1992 Chevy Corvette C5, C6, Z06 RSX Type S 2000 (required cat hump bashing) Honda S2000 (required cat hump bashing) *Pontiac Solstice/Saturn Skye Dodge Neon SRT4 (not for a tall person, sits too high for 6'-2") 1988 Subaru Legacy Honda Prelude 1992-1996 also late 80's through 1991 I have put an (*) next to the ones that according to the owners were the least difficult to install Please put the year of the vehicle if it is known. Northeast people and other rust belt areas will have a hard time locating any cars beyond 12 years old as the junk yards generally crush anything older. Thank you, Greg
  24. I know this post is over a year old but they still have them on the website. Search racing seats, they are $269 a pair. Now thoes of you who have had them now for over a year have they held up? Are they still comfortable? Long drive comfort? How about for the caloricaly challenged? ( heavier/ ok fat people)? I'm 245Lbs 5'-10" Thanks, Greg
  25. What was the part number on the BMW fuel pump and replacement pump. I have a Mallory EFI-110 pump that is noisy and then bought a Paxton pump which was built by Aeromotive and is the same as the 1000 but it was noisier than the Mallory. I was thinking of getting a Walbro 255 but your BMW pump sounds like it might be quieter. Both pumps were mounted with 4 rubber isolator 1/4-20 studs (metal stud-3/4" rubber-metal stud, so no metal to metal) but I can still hear the pump over my custom sidepipes. Bought a stereo for Xmas for the car and want to listen to some tunes. but the constant droning of the pump noise inside is too much. I will have a couple of slightly used hi performance fuel pumps for sale soon I hope! Thanks, Greg
