  1. I think your well within your conservative estimate. Can't wait to see the results. Are you doing the tuning on the Haltech?
  2. Let me just say that I've worked retail for the last 17 years and I have so many stories related to this That my mind is starting to spin as I think of some. Let me just say that I currently have about 15 guys that directly report to me and about 10 others that do so from time to time. Out of those about 15 do something really strange about once a day! I've worked with thousands of people and I'm amazed at how wierd some of them are. I say get the cert. and get the other guy out of there.
  3. Anyone care to explain why he's doing this?
  4. With my old motor and engine managment I did 5600 in 5th. That's was with the taller 245/45/17's on the rear of the car so I'm not exactly sure of the number. Somthing tells me it was little over the speed limit!
  5. It can go in past the snap rings that would normally hold it in the correct groove.
  6. When I installed my LSD I put the passenger side CV axle in the the diff. housing to far and that made the gringing noise your talking about. Measure the air gap between the housing and the inside flange on both axles and see if one is in to far.
  7. I used one once and it went bad after about a year of being driven daily. When I fianlly got it out the bearing had scored the input shaft on the tranny and I was lucky to get the tranny out without having to do anything crazy to pull the peices apart. It took me about an hour to pull what was left out of the end of the crank. What a pain it was in a job I hate doing anyway.
  8. Slow-n-rusty, Looks like something you'd have:D
  9. Don't have 5 unfinished project cars. Makes customers feel like you won't get their stuff done. Even if you not finishing your projects because your working on their stuff.
  10. My base hours are 50. So basically that means it's anywhere from 45 to 70 but, on average it's about 48. The store I'm in now is in a crazy area so it feels like 70 a week.
  11. You've got to have the only garage like that in America! Nice combo:D
  12. I think Clifton is right here. You may have to bite the bullet and go somewhere else for your rebuild. It might cost you more but, atleast it will be done right.
  13. That guys is so very wrong. Your 3" downpipe is not causing your oil leak.
  14. The 3 ply will be fine unless it has an unattrative finish then it's just personal taste. The pipe thickness sounds fine aslo but, don't let it rub against anything steel or a hole will get worn thru it eventually. Just be careful on how you route the pipes and if it's real close then put something over that spot to protect it.
  15. Just a thought but, that # 6 runner may have to be cut off and redone to make more room. Also while your at it you might rethink that wastegate runner. Seems like it's way to long and could cause proublems with boost control. Anybody, else think the same thing about this? I love the header but, it needs a little more time and thought to make it a usable part.
  16. I've done the 8 million connectors thing and it's really frustrating with all the leaks and nothing seems to ever fit right. Make sure you use good clamps if you go this route. I personally use 6 couplers in my system and that's only because I couldn't do it with less and make it servicable. My first welded system was some pipe that I cut up and duct taped together and had welded up at the muffler shop. Worked reasonably well and was so much better than the system with all the couplers.
  17. Are you going to have the pipes fitted to your vehicle and then welded up or just try and use couplers to put the pipes together with? You really want to have as few couplers in your system as possible.
  18. Looks to me like the guy got carried away working on the tubes and forgot about adding a down pipe. That last pipe looks like it would block any hope of making a real downpipe from the angle that I see in the pic. On second thought. Looks like a P.O.S. and needs to be boxed up and sent to me for proper disposal. J/K LOL I'm sure it can be made to work but, it's going to be just that...WORK...
