  1. Good luck with the test. I'm sure you'll do fine.
  2. Sure the style is dated but, I'm sure in that time period is was a sweet car. Just needs some frenshening up.
  3. Here the link to the site. It's no where the site that Hybrid Z is but, it seems to be growing and everyone has been real good so far. http://www.garagejournal.com/
  4. I second what Brad said. Trust me the better the welder the better the finished result will be. If your like me a quality tool will really help me to get motivated about getting a job done.
  5. You can rent a large sander from Home Depot to get rid of the brushed finish. I had the builder get mine as smooth as he could when the slab was poured. Mine still needs to be sanded some more in my opinion. I think I would degrease the floor very well before sanding. It would suck to grind all the muck into the conrete and have it come out after you put the finish on.
  6. No proublem at all. Glad I brought a post that could help more than just me. Thanks for the info so far. Let's keep it coming please.
  7. So I'm finally building a new house and some how talked my wife into a 3 car garage without having to make any unreasonable promises. The garage is no mega garage or anything but, will be nice for my projects and tools. I've really been thinking about putting down an Epoxy floor to help make it look better and for the cool factor. I've done lots of reasearch on a couple of other sites about brands to use but, it seems like every product has a couple of guys that love it then a couple of guys that think it sucks. All the searching has really just made me confused. Anyone have experience with these types of products? How well do they hold up to jack stands, welding splatter, and just plain working on it?
  8. Thats an awesome car. I've often thought I'd like to do one of those.
  9. Looks really good. I certainly like your work!
  10. I gotta say I think these are one of may favorite cars ever. Not exactly sure why but, they are. I got to change the tires on one once and it was a real treat!
  11. Sorry to hear about that. Good luck on the recovery. I'm always soing something stupid also. I think most of it comes from not sitting around on the couch all the time. Anyway, My wife is so scared that I've hurt myself that everytime I say ouch while in the garage she freaks out and in a panic ask if I'm OK
  12. I have both the nibbler and the shears. Both have their uses but, I think the nibbler is the most versitile. It can cut as straight as you aim it or it can do some crazy shapes if needed. I've clamped angle iron to sheet metal so I could have a guide to use when I want a straight peice.
  13. I think I would try a more aggressive compound for the rear pads before doing the P-valve on the front. Do you have stainless liness on front and back? I'm sure you do but, didn't see it in the list of mods.
  14. Thanks for the intro...... Anyway I guess the real question is how many times do you want it to be able to go down the track that fast and how big is our budget? You said cheap but, really a number helps. Even if your just guessing. Check out my site. It has most of the things that I've done to the car on it. http://www.angelfire.com/space/nismo1turbo/
  15. I don't think he could have planned that to fit tighter.
  16. Can't say I would have picked the combo myself but, more power to ya. Show us some pics once you get it into the car. Just thought about it... That'll make one hell of a sleeper!
  17. Make sure to check the holes in the gasket vs the head and block. I bought one once and it was wrong. Not saying they all are just be sure and check. Good luck and can't wait to hear more about the buildup!
  18. Have your brake rotors checked to see if they are warped or if they have a build up of material on them that is causing proublems.
  19. Just an FYI for my buildup the competition inner spring and the fatory outer spring gave me the best combination. Like Jon, it's been awhile since I've driven mine so I don't remember the exact #'s. This really seems to be a matter of each indivdual engine needs to be fine tuned to find the right set up.
