  1. If you upgrade to higher wattage bulbs then you will need to wire some relys. You'll burn out the switch eventually if you don't. If you use some bulbs that are Xenon or something but, go with a set that are very close to stock then you won't have any proublem. I saw a set of Xenon at Target for 12.99.
  2. I run the Redline MTL also in my T-5 it works great.
  3. Wow, Jeff your popular, I have to wait atleast an hour before I can see your site. Excessive Bandwidth Comsumption.
  4. Welcome and Gald to see another ZX person here on the board.
  5. Thanks for the picutre Alan. Rick I'll forward you the picture so you can get it up on here for all to see. Everyone can save it on thier computers from there. As for the blueprints. I wonder if they would sell them for a reasonable fee sense it doesn't look like they'll be producing any in the near future or ever.
  6. If you don't mind add me to the E-mail list. By the way I understand the term "Pimp." In don't think anyone ment it as a put down but, more as a "WOW" thing. The head is an incredable peice and we have proubly all thought about the what if's of having such an item. I my opinion it should be a museum piece as much as anything else.
  7. If your using a P-90 head then take a look and you'll see that the metal headgasket does not have as many water passages as the head does. You'll need to open up that area so the water can pass though. Otherwsie the water will seek the area of least resistance and who knmow where thats going to be. If not using the P-90 then most people just install them dry but, a few coat them with Copper Coat. If you do a seach you'll find some info that I got about a month ago.
  8. So what I'm reading is that you are saying that the intake could use some cleanup and a little more volume in the plemun area. Right? How much would you add?
  9. Tim, when is the cook out. I'll bring an extra flywheel just in case.
  10. Try any can of cleaner or even starting fluid. You just spray it on the lines until the engine sound changes. When you get in the area it is easy to narrow down to exactley were it is.
  11. You can use them but, the motor will be more prone to detionation and will limit the total amount of boost pressure that you will be able to run. If you run in the 8 to 8.5 range should be enough for good spool up and total power. A correctly sized turbo will really help in the spoolup and power areas.
  12. Right click on the link and hit Save as. Thats what worked for me. Good videos, Worth downloading.
  13. 280zone Do you mind if I save that pic and use it sometime? Looks like a good description. I'd be happy to give you credit.
  14. For now you could try to clean the headlight switch contacts. They get corroded over the years espessially if you run higher than stock wattage bulbs. I did that and eventually it fired the stock wires and I had to run a reley just to make them work. I fianlly went and installed a new harness for the headlights and did basically what Nismo280zed and Ross are talking about. The new harness can take a much higher wattage bulb. Then you can run the 90/130 watt if you want. Be careful with the aiming if you run a higher wattage bulb. Try the Xenon bulbs they are the best that I've used yet.
  15. I run the GReddy Type S BOV and just vent it to the atmoshpere. I do tighten it down so that there is no leak at idle. With it set like this the valve has a very fast open and shut effect so it only open a very short amount of time. Works well so far.
  16. I've never done a swap but, about a year ago I looked into it. The price was still alittle high for me. What I did do was swap to some H-4 bulbs, rewire for more power and upgrade to 90/130 watt Xenon bulbs. You talk about a night and day difference.(no pun intended) Huge upgrade for about 130 bucks and a little time. Still not HID's but, much better. One thing that I found at the time was that the HID's only had one bulb for either low beam or high beam but, not both like our lights are supposed to have. There may be such a thing now but, like I said this was over a year ago. Let us know if you find anything real good. I would still like to upgrade mine to HID's if I found the right parts at thwe right price.
  17. I hate to say it but, it's easier and cheaper to just pay the ticket and/or take defensive driving. I had a friend who fought a no seat belt ticket when I was 17 and almost got laughed out of court. I was in the car at the time and he did have it on. It's all in what the officer says. There are so many in and outs of the law that "we" laymen do not know that it's almost imposible to win in my opionin. I don't want to sound like it can't be fought but, it's hard to do. I have had luck in using lawyers to get a fine reduced or to have it not hit my record. 14 years of driving and lots of tickets later and I still have a clean record. (knock on wood) If you've got the time and money then by all means fight it. Good Luck
  18. You missed your calling. Great story! Is it real or just somwthing thought up to entertain us while the inlaws are "in house" Thanks,
  19. Potato guns are fun. Stupid but, fun!
  20. The compressor housing is that same one that I've been using for about 5 years now. It always ran 7 psi before without intercooler and 6.5 psi with the intercooler. I do think that the rod may be a touch out of line with the wastegate arm (no more than before). Like I said though the only thing that really changed on the turbo is the turbine wheel and a new center section. (Lightweight flywheel if that makes any difference) It's not like it's a big deal but, it does make me wonder why. By the way at 9 psi it feels great. Spools super fast and feels like the old combo. did at 10 or 11 psi. I don't have any extra fuel controller on it right now until I get it broken in and inspected. This new Texas inspection thing is tough. After all that I'm about 2 hours or less of mods away from some real boost and bigger power #'s. I can't wait!
  21. I just got my engine running the other day and other than an idle proublem it looks like it all went together well and is running great so far. I'm having a hard time not doggin it everywhere I go. I must admit that I've dipped into boost on a few occasions. What I'm curious about is that the turbo seems to be giving out 9 psi with the stock wastegate and no boost controller hooked up. This is with the intercooler and any pressure drop I would have it in the system. The wastegate hose is hooked up at the turbo compressor and straight into the wasegate. The only real mods at the moment are just ported stock exhaust manifold and a Weber T-body. The head had a clean up pass done on it but, nothing major. I've never had it do this before. Do you think maybe when I had the turbo rebuilt the person switched wastegate actuaters(sp)on me? Looks the same. The boost does seems to spike a little. The turbo is a T04B don't know the trim with a Stage 2 turbine. The exhaust after the turbo is currently stock DP with 3" after cat. Any ideas on why it would be running the much boost? Should I have ported the wastegate hole?
  22. Thanks Donna, I've been looking for that link.
