  1. I always muted his ads. I was really annoyed at someone screaming at me, but I did feel a little sad about his passing.
  2. As I recall, most of the A/C in early Z's were dealer installed. The name of the kit was "Factory Air" with the old piston type york compressors. Mine was terrible in Houston. Eventually, I had it replaced with a later style rotary compressor that worked lot better. I stupidly took it out to fit a large intake pipe. After this summer, I may put it back in.
  3. Even if he lives 150 more years, the punishment still does not fit the crime. I have very little sympathy for those who invested directly with Madoff since they had to know that the returns were out of reason. And about CNN, does any one remember that they made a deal with Saddam to sanitize the news for the ability to stay and report from Iraq? Now that is integrity! CNN should have been tried for treason.
  4. Obviously the Nigerian don't have a problem with it. Only the Speech police in the USA.
  5. One of my nurses who worked ER said this is not unusual. Women and men come to ER with all kinds of objects stuck in different orifices. The only thing that bothers me is how many are uninsured with the tax payers have to pick up the tab.
  6. Phil.. Where did you buy the quarter window seals? I am ready do the same.
  7. Try searching the LONG thread on this subject? The first Summit Racing seat looks similar to the JC Whitney seats.
  8. Yea, same in Houston. My Turbo Tom kit had plenty of room, but with the current configuration, I had to take out the a/c. Tom did use hard lines but high pressure flexible hosing. It worked until I took it out.
  9. "Donating members get a 1000 max messages for their PM box, regular users get 250." Some members have up to 1000 messages? I have a couple of partners that never clean their company email and I have to clean the crap from time to time, but a 1000 messages? Wow!

    Seat swap list

Anyone try Accord seats? A company called Greenleaf recyclers has many Honda Accord seats for $125.00 each. All seats seem to be priced at $125 each.

    Seat swap list

I found a pair of 350Z seats for my 260Z. What work was necessary to install these? Thanks
  12. Remember and emphasize that it is a classic car and not a daily driver. State Farm will try to total it. Don't give those bast...s an inch. Get a lawyer if you must. Insist on using a classic car estimators and not the usual State Farm people. Don't know how old you are, but an older person on site when discussing the cost is helpful. To State Farm, it is just an old car.
  13. When it comes to lights, you can't have too much. I have a garage slightly larger than a 3 car. I have 6 8' flourescents. The problem is the cold. They don't do well when it is really cold. In Houston, Tx we don't have much but it takes a while for the bulbs to finally light completely when temp is freezing. But ckolander in Minot has more experience with low temps. As for insulation, I would check "This Old House" or another contractor. I followed several episodes of construction of a house in the north. I understood that it is the moisture that is the problem. If you insulate you're suppose to heat and cool the space. Insulation without heating/cooling leads to lots of moisture and rot (that is what I heard on home repair radio) Good Luck in your new house.
  14. PM me. Quick purchase. Thanks.
  15. I have done this before in other Z cars. I spoke to the previous owner and affirms it is the same crank before he bought. He had re-upholstered the panels and I think that somehow the panel is preventing the crank from being pushed completely. The other side was also done but it fits o.k. I am intending to cut the panel to try again. Thanks for your advice.
  16. I have never run into this. The window regulator stub to which the window crank handle attaches seem larger than any crank handle I have can it. It is on my 280Z which many changes were made by the previous owner. The crank handles I have came from 280Z, 260Z, 240z. All will fit part way in but not enough met the slot in the regulator stub. I tried pressing it on with my palm but as soon as I use the crank, the handle falls off. Anyone have this problem before?

    Removing dash cover

I was afraid of that. Oh well, it is painted every orange like the car and the glare is really a problem anyway. So, off it goes. Thanks.
  18. The previous owner of 280Z used a dash cover attached with silicone adhesive that came with the dash. Now, I am trying to add new gauges but the dash cover interferes with tach removal. Anyone remove a dash cover similar to this one without damaging it. I tried a spatula but the cover starts to make noise like it was cracking. Any help would be appreciated.
  19. What washer? I had a general repair shop install this 2 yrs ago, and I don't recall a washer. What did it look like and where was it installed? Thanks
  20. Let us know. I am having the same problem. Also, did anyone one get an adjustable proportioning valve. According to Ross, it is not needed, but the rear really grabs hard before the front.
  21. Thanks. I should have read this post first. Looks exactly like the ones I have. BTW, Girlock was merged with Bendix?
