  1. I got into vintage racing in high school and fell in love with the 510. I spent a lot of time looking for a good shell that I could afford at the time but there wasn't such a car. After college when I became a tech, I worked at the Nissan tech center for a while (the huge track at the beginning of the new Altima commercials).there were tons of awesome pictures on the walls of that place of old factory and race preped Z cars. I knew that eventually I would own a Z after seeing all the history at the tech center. I've owned an S30 and an S130 and after a couple 150+ hour checks from the Infiniti dealership I bought me 73 and my mikunis. I don't imagine ever getting rid of this Z and will hopefully have many more.
  2. WOW that sounds incredible. Are there any noise restrictions is the class you're going to be running with? The build as a whole is coming out great. I can't wait to see some track videos. Keep up the awesome work.
  3. Wow sounds like fun! Now that i live in Albuquerque again hopefully I will get to meet you and your son and check out your amazing toys at the strip sometime. Good luck on everything.
  4. That's awesome, put that degree to good use and develop lots of new affordable parts for us. Seriously congrats.
  5. Good luck, but don't forget that jackstands are your friend.
  6. Some quicker steering arms might help your turning. Try these (bottom of the page) http://arizonazcar.com/lowarms.html
  7. Awesome build. I really like the oil pan modifications. I see you have made good friends with Dave at azc. What are your plans with the motor? Keep up the awesome work.
  8. What is "maxxed out"? I hope you are not asking about a full build up of cams, pistons, injectors, stand-alone etc. on stock turbos. Honestly besides a good headgasket, t-belt, water pump, and oil pump/collar the turbos should be up on the top of the list.
  9. I'm pretty sure the offset is the same due to the drum style parking brake setup. I put "brembo" (oem350z ones) on a G35 once and it worked fine. From what I remember the only rear rotor difference came in 06 when a new setup was used.
  10. Awesome! I wish I knew that feeling.
  11. This is what Alldata says: Labor Skill Level Mfg. Warranty StandardIntake Manifold Gasket Replace Manifold Gasket CPI UPPER B 1.7 2.2 LOWER B 2.5 3.4 NOTE WITH AC, ADD B 0.2 0.2
  12. I am sadly moving in a few weeks so hopefully I will be able to see a few more amazing cars before I leave. Anyone planning on going out?
  13. I couldn't have put it better myself.
  14. This brings a tear to my eye but I get excited thinking about the next awesome project you will blow us away with. Good luck.
  15. I love the look of that extra belt. That looks like a Gilbert house But then again they all look the same. Good luck.
  16. Do what this guy did. Arizona Resident Vs. Arizona parking solutions clif notes on page 26 and 51 i think also Condensed journal from the person involved. No need to read that huge crazy thread. Autoblog feature on it
  17. Save money on the swap and don't do the rb26, instead use all the cash on suspension. One of my good friends has his D1 license and is a NOPI driver does most of his events with 10" tires and a stock sr with only a gt28. A guy here in town drifts a 280 with a sb 350. I don't know much about his suspension but the torque from the simple v8 throws it sideways. Like I said (I'm sure you already know this) suspension setup in the first priority when it comes to competition drifting.
  18. Well I hope our old auto rb20 bell housing helped out. I never thought that would leave the garage. Just one more impressive thing you have done on this build. Keep them coming.
  19. I have driven in that car just a dew days before you bought it and I know for a fact that it is the front diff mount.
  20. Canceled vegas plans and now the woman and I are driving back home. We will also be in Northern NM, my parents live outside of Espanola.
  21. Our "Mines" ecu was really a pile of junk. It ended up being a back-up ecu while the other one was getting tuned. They say that if you buy an ecu that they nodded they will re-map it for a small fee if you change something. That small fee was almost $200 plus shipping to Japan. It is possible (depending on boost) that you may need bigger than GTR injectors. With that in mind I would try to get something stand-alone or find someone that can ROM tune and get a spare ecu. As a fair warning, have fun with that trans while it lasts. Our "slightly" modded:mrgreen: RB20 already broke an RB25 trans and we are running a much smaller turbo. (yes I know the shift forks are common in those trannys but spending $470 for one billet shift fork is not fun) Good luck with the build.
