  1. Does any one have any good/bad experence with SPC front camber kit? here is a ebay auction for one that is installed. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=120020991205 Here is a eBay auction for just the kit http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230018963351 Here's the manufacturer. Select Nissan, 240Z and the year in the selection window. http://www.specprod.com/PROD_DIR/PROD_PASSCAR.HTML For a total of $78.95 and 2 hours time to install it this looks like a good deal. However if it is junk $78.95 and the 2 hours to install it will destroy the front crossmember and take a lot longer than 2 hours to fix.
  2. There are some nice charts here. Looks like 1/4 npt is 7/16" http://www.engineersedge.com/tap_drill_chart.htm
  3. What about aviation oils? Or oils formulated for diesel engines?
  4. I have a mid mount on my old 350 and it fits well and works well. its made by Allen Grove. They have a low mount for the LT1 that goes on the right side and may work $60 http://www.alangrovecomponents.com/LT1.htm
  5. Alan Grove makes a large variety of high quality steel accessory brackets. Its a lot cheaper to buy direct from him. I used the mid mount right side alternator bracket for the long water pump. He uses 1/4" steel plate and they are stout. http://www.alangrovecomponents.com/
  6. NIXCARS from Australia E-mailed me and said he got his off eBay but it was a piece of junk.
  7. I don't know what it is or what its for or even what it does but I think I know how it works. Right click and save as (4 meg D/L) http://s94643514.onlinehome.us/retro.wmv
  8. Exhaust gasses entering the coolant will also cause the coolant to break down as yours seem to be doing. They make a tool called a Block Tester or Combustion LeakTester that tests for the presence of exhaust gasses in the coolant. There is also a pressure tester that you can use that pumps the cooling ststem up to the cap pressure that will test for leaks. The Block Tester is about $50 Both tests can easly and quickly done by a radiator shop. Any exhaust gasses in the cooling system will eat up the radiator and heater core in short order. http://www.arrowheadradiator.com/head_gasket_or_combustion_leak_test.htm http://www.stant.com/brochure.cfm?brochure=578&location_id=169&go=preset677Stant http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/STANT-RaDiaToR-PreSSure-TEST-Kit-AuToMoTive-TooLs_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ43995QQitemZ4617047327
  9. I don't think he is talking about a main battery disconnect. His switch is in the fuseble link circuit and it should be rated for 25% more than the total load. However the main battery disconect switch would do the job.
  10. My Mom always told me if I could not say anything nice not to say anything at all........................................
  11. I have a nice original pair of 71 un-modified front struts for $90 plus shipping. I can get them boxed and mailed to you tomorrow. V8-240Z@juno.com
  12. If your using the stock 240Z control arms (Transverse Links) it is possible they are deflecting. The 280Z control arms are much more robust. If you compare the 2 side by side you can see a big difference. They are bolt for bolt interchangeable.
  13. When I did mine I used a RV latching relay on the ground cable with a Ford fuel pump inertia switch connected to the relay. In the event of a accident the power is cut automatically by the inertia switch. Here is some info What it is http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/parts/rv-converters/002733.htm Where I put it and why its on the ground cable http://www.mercurycapri.com/technical/electric/ks.html How it works http://windsurf.mediaforte.com/roadtrek/5322019100.pdf The Battery and relays (one for the starter) are behind the pass seat with a button at the battery box that will reset the latching relay after it has been turned off by me or the inertia switch.
  14. I just tried the number from my company cell phone thats blocked and it went into the voice mail without even a ring. It gave me the options of leaving a message or a fax.

  17. I did a google search for "Holley Power Vave" and found this. http://www.mortec.com/carbs.htm http://www.mortec.com/carbtip1.htm Looks like it covers the subject pretty well.
  18. It looks like that bracket will only work with a R180 that has the mustache bar in front of the risers. The 280Z pump bracket still bolts to the holes that are in the 240Z but sits back far enough to clear a R200 mustache bar that sits behind the risers.
  19. I put that same pump in my 71 and used the 280Z fuel pump bracket. It was a perfect fit and the holes were even there for the bracket. Be sure to put a Fram G3 fuel filter between the pump inlet and tank.

  21. The valve up front on a 240Z with a wire attached to it is a self centering pressure differential switch that turns the brake warning light on. The valve in the back is a residual pressure check valve because of the rear drum brakes. With drum brakes a ten pound valve is used to compensate for return spring tension in the drums. With a rear disk conversion it would have to be removed or disabled or you will have rear disk brake drag.
