  1. How far can compression be bumped to when using E85? Might be nice for turbo conversions on n/a motors.
  2. Thought about using a hood induction for the turbos? Might help them breathe a bit better, looks like a fairly long and complex intake right now. Oh, and that looks great!!!
  3. Since it is OHV, how much smaller is it than a VG30? Might it fit well into a S30 or S130?
  4. F/I aside, how much can those motors make with those upgrades?
  5. I lived in McMinnville, 20-odd miles as the crow flies to the west, for a year and a half. Parents are from the area so I have been up there alot. Tons of pollen / allergens, so if that is an issue for you, beware. Don't know about home prices, but the area is green, not to humid - compared to the Texas-Louisiana border area that I've lived in before. Doens't get really hot during the summer, but the winters rain a good bit and are overcast alot. Just wondering, what is the job that you might be moving most of the way across the country for? Might want to visit the area first.
  6. That "Split Port Injection" intake looks to be volume designed for torque, like the TPI intake. How does it breathe under boost? Rev?
  7. So would a Cosworth DOHC head bolt to a 2.3 turbo I4?
  8. I've found that when driving through flat lands with a very straight highway, like in AZ, NM, TX, my speed climbs up over time. Make sure that you don't go much faster than everyone else . . .
  9. Why is that for sale on Ebay motors instead of Barret Jackson? If that actually is the one of a kind that it is described as, plus the Smokey connection, that should do a great bit on the Speed channel.
  10. I wouldn't necessarily say that. Look at Porsche, they have H6's that are perfectly sufficient for their design targets - handling, road racing, not 1/4'ing.
  11. "Description Cosworth VQ35 CNC ported cylinder heads feature dyno tested and flow bench proven ports, engineered for maximum real world power. Each new cylinder head is ported on a 5 axis machine to ensure consistency and perfect port shape every time. Additionally, larger intake (+1mm) and exhaust valves (+1mm) are utilized to help increase flow. Cosworth CNC ported Big Valve cylinder heads come complete with a performance valve job, hi rev (max 10,500rpm) valve springs with titanium retainers and are ready to install. Perfect for big turbo applications or strong normally aspirated engines. Nissan VQ35 heads are priced for the pair. A flow chart for the head is available by downloading the technical document on the left." 10,500RPM rev limit!!
  12. If that Liberty transmission isn't strong enough, the Supra R154 transmission can be used. Good for a bit more, not bullet proof though like the V160 is though. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=121229 http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=120957 http://www.moparchat.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=71020 http://www.jeeps-offroad.com/archive/index.php/t-4740.html "The Jeep/Dodge AX15 5-speed, the Jeep NV3550 5-speed, the Jeep NV1500, the Toyota R150F & R151F, the 87-92 Toyota Supra Turbo R154, the Isuzu AR5 and the Pontiac SolsticeSaturn SkyChevy Colorado GMC Canyon MA5 5-speeds all share the same case to bellhousing bolt pattern (Large Pattern). As such there are a number of possibilities that can be had when a 5-speed is desired:" " 03-04 Jeep LibertyTJ 2.4L bellhousing: Connects NV1500 to 2.4L SOHCDOHC NeonSRT-4PT Cruiser L4 (See info at #11)"
  13. Why is it important to vary the interstate speeds?
  14. OOOh, there is a 'ring video of the new GT-R? Under what rock have I been living? Link?
  15. Isn't the thread topic " vg30dett weight vs vh45dett weight "? How much would a set of turbo's and the extra plumbing add to a Vh45?
  16. Wonder if it will have the same wheelbase as the G37 coupe. Either way, it should be lighter and more powerful than the current model. Here's to hoping that the utility of the 240Z's hatch design will be reincarnated to the 370Z and not have that massive strut bar. Maybe the shorter wheelbase will help with that.
  17. How has the RX-8 treated you? Heard that the mileage is a bit lower than hoped for, and that the oil needs to be monitored. Mods? Performance? Drove one, what a blast! Sedate until you wind that motor up, then
  18. You guys have Cosworths in Canada? Imported or sold there??
  19. Given the impetus of the Cosworth engines was the WRC [so I believe], I REALLY wish that sport has/had caught on more on this side of the pound. What a great source of turbocharged, AWD vehicles, and the chasis that go along with them provide quality vehicle platforms for more economical, but fun vehicles.
  20. Do you have any smog conditions in your area? A better exahaust would help things out.
  21. Wow, that is a great deal. $600 for a EG hatch? Prices are much higher here in the land of the imports, real bummer too, I spend alot on gas.
  22. Awesome video! Thought there would have been more oil being flung everywhere though. What spec are the turbo's? Where the old JY ones T25 or T3 - from the S130 or Z31?
  23. You have much snow in Portland? I live in that great bit of California that gets 115 summers and snow storms in the winter(at home the snow, 15 minutes, the summer heat). Might want to stick with FF or AWD if you have much, the tow companys love the weekend skiers going into the ditches.
  24. "More room than a 7 series, cost of a C class." Wonder how good it'll be.
  25. Was the VG30DE in this series the same as the Z32 DE, or different?
