  2. Isn't this ZR8ED's car? This pic came from the link, and this one came from his signature pic:

  4. There are less miles on my 77 280z than there are on my 2002 altima...
  5. BrandonsZ, that sounds like the bitter voice of experience...got a juicy catastrophic pocket protector failure story for us?

    That is so freakin hard...
  7. Sooooo......did the Darius 240z ever get painted?
  8. As Max puts down his Super Sayan Goku piggy bank, and adjusts his 1/12 Mach V race car, he glances over at his guardian mode Roy Fokker Skull 1 veritech toy, wondering how he managed to get married to an actual girl..."I think it was about the aerodynamics of keeping exhaust fumes out of my cabin on the z using scoops, but it's no longer possible to be sure..."
  9. Is your early 260 also a 2+2? I don't know if the rear glass or decklid would fit if not, isn't that where the increase in chassis length happens?
  10. I don't see any flamethrowers on those....they could at LEAST have mounted a cigarrette lighter to it or something...some engineers are just so lazy, with their formal educations and their pocket protectors...
  11. I wonder if the hand remote controls every aspect of the slither motion, or if just pressing forwards does a pre-programmed motion...they seem to have a pretty sophisticated interface at least with the head portion. That robot video is way cooler than the one I posted with the robot suit...
  12. I think PPraska is on to something with that one. I called up Bay City Clutch (a local drivetrain shop that builds custom clutch components for decent prices) when I first got my z to see if they could build me a clutch that could hold 300 or so hp on the non-turbo sized flywheel (because that's the one I had), and the guy laughed when he heard what the disc diameter was. He told me he'd look into it and call me back, and then he never called me back. I suspect he didn't take me seriously, but I can't be sure...
  13. I wonder if there is an office of birth defects to monitor the effect the office of weather control is having on the residents of the town that gets it's rainfall from chemical cloud seeding...those communists sure know how to party...this reminds me of something my physics teacher in high school said he saw once. Supposedly the Chinese had made some diplomatic demand or other (the exact details elude me right now), and the threat they had to back up their position was that they were going to force their entire population to jump at once, thereby throwing the earth out of orbit and causing the climate to change. Little did they know that this would have no net effect on the earth at all...
  14. Here are some highlights from fantasyland: Check out the part where he says:"after prototype testing has proven that such a thing is feasible." Sounds like somebody needs to go buy himself an ASIMO from honda, and see how they did it... Notice the phrase: "until certain design matters have been resolved." I read that as: "until we can get it to stop falling over."
  15. It said the engine info in the original Ebay add. He claims that all it needed to run the hydraulics was like a 5 horse briggs and strat, and he was selling it for like $100,000 in order to fund a more streamlined model. The rig I was talking about is the scaffolding that goes around the whole chassis of the power-suit. It can be seen more clearly in some of the other videos. Go to the Lynx link, and look at the other vids. I'm pretty sure they never show it do anything freestanding, that's the trick behind editing video. Like that infamous dancing christmas light video that was so popular this past holiday. That video looked to me like a stop motion film, and if you look close, you can see people coming and going at the door of the house that are there in one frame, and not the next. The people claim that is an artifact of the quality reduction they had to do to post the video. However in some of the other light videos, the camera angle changes but the song doesn't skip a beat, which means the footage has been edited. People are so used to seeing edited film, they really don't think anything of it when the view switches from like a distance to close up and so forth.
  16. Also, it was on ebay at one point for some ludicrous amount of money, but it never sold...
  17. Don't be fooled, the videos never show it doing anything without that rig around it. Also the powerplant is a Briggs and Stratton 2-stroke to run the hydraulic system. I personally feel it needs like a nice 1.0L Geo Metro engine, and a big flywheel/gyroscope, then maybe it could do stuff besides stand there and suck...although the flamethrower was a nice touch, good for lighting firecrackers from a distance, or trying to blow up a grill full of gasoline like in Joe Dirt... Hopefully when the Alien queen comes to start her hive, it will be in Alaska, that way this guy will be there to deal with the problem for the rest of us.
  18. So here it is, I've been saving some WTF?! fun for just such an occasion as this, that is to say, Friday afternoon when I have absolutely nothing going on at work and need a good dose of red-neckery to really get me through the week: http://www.neogentronyx.com/
  19. Marklar was the fictional language the people spoke on the planet Marklar (which was grammatically very similar to Smurf, in that you replace whatever word would give you a clue as to what was being said in a sentance with the word Marklar, and then watch hilarity ensue) in some episode of South Park...On my screen here at work the text you copied and pasted shows up as a series of squares, with spaces in between. That was supposed to be a joke...I was just curious about that car since I've been a fan of JUN vehicles since the Hyper Lemon Sylvia first came over here.
  20. Olderthanme, what do you know about that JUN car you posted? anything besides the pics?
  21. Well, in his case, the advantage to having them siamesed is that it was the only way they would mount up to his stock intake runners. He hacked his old plenum off, and made a new one out of 4 inch tube. personally I felt that the new plenum need to be a bit bigger, because once he slid that plate in, there wasn't much actual volume left over. If you follow that link, he has pictures of the whole setup and you can see what I'm talking about.
  22. Jon, that plate is really cool! My buddy at work bought some of those velocity of sound stacks, and they were really nice when they came in. He built himself a crazy manifold using them on his 330whp saturn SL2... This picture is after he cut them to siamese the stacks, I couldn't find one of a before picture...if anyone is interested, here is the link to www.turbosaturns.net where he shows his whole buildup: http://www.turbosaturns.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=27966&highlight=velocity+stacks
  23. Hmmm....Ho_Raider2003, 0 feedback....sounds like a trustworthy fellow....I declare it legit, where's my wallet?
  24. Jayz: If you find a source for replacement wheel sections to change offset, let me know. I would KILL to have my Impuls changed to a lower offset so I wouldn't have to use spacers anymore....
