My favorite part:

Are you running an aftermarket stall converter? If not you may want to consider one. Now where is my camera, and camera man...
-
The first 3 pics appear to be JTR parts (walks away from computer to look at original Scarab in garage...) Yes the last pic appears to be a "Scarab" mount. Now, do you have the remainder of the kit? Sorry didn't see your question "are these better?". IMO no, owning both an original Scarab (#154 a 1971 240Z) and a JTR converted 240Z, I'd stick with the JTR mounts. Again do you have the entire Scarab "kit"?

I was looking at a Charger but we couldn't get together on price. The torque of the hemi is outstanding!!! Rolling down the interstate at 60, punch it 90-100 comes on FAST!!! Wound up with an Infiniti G35 sedan with a MT-6, not the awsome power of the Hemi but still a respectable car IMO. I really like the smoothness of the power in the G35, this is an engine I'd like to put in my 240Z coupled with the 6 speed.

By yourself!!! Way to go!!!! There is no way in h-e double toothpicks I would or could get away with pulling an engine in the street in my hood'. -
Fantastic!!! A bit on the long side but nice to watch. I bought a new mini disk recorder recently and need to "get with the program" of posting some vids of the Scarab and HybridZ. I second axe the music or let it cut in and out on the accelerator runs. No tire smoke, you're hookin'!!! What tranny are you running? Way to go!!! David

CASTROL HIGH MILEAGE 10W30 oil change increases it's value!!! Seeing how I work for Castrol, thank you for purchasing our oil. If you don't mind answering, did you change it yourself? Where did you buy the oil? How much did you pay per quart? Where are you located? Thanks!!! David

I'll bet the Mustang owner feels pretty smug right about now.

Must have been a student of Gutenbergs. Reminds me of how older printing presses work. -
Congrats!!! But dude, 4X4 shop is still the way to go (for me anyways To do mine it cost me a case, 3 gallons, of Tection Diesel oil (Castrol Brand who I work for so cost was ZERO!!!!) Glad to hear you got er done. Feels good huh.

Anybody on here work in real estate. I have a home for sale that someone is looking to lease to purchase and would like to know what the drawbacks and advantages are to this type transaction. Price of home is in the 390K range. Thanks. David

I have a "paint chip" epoxy floor in my garage. It does scratch if you you drag something sharp across it however with all the different colors it's hard to see the scratch. As far as jack stands/the drive on lift I have, I place carpet pieces down as a precaution. It is a bit slippery when wet but cleans up great! I painted the garage and trim to match along with the cabinets. The floor is kind of hard to see in this pic but you get the idea. I have a lift like this: Another pic of the floor:

T56 Guys, check my info please!!!
dsommer replied to Poundz9oh9's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
Not meaning to hijack but first of all...you suk j/k! Second when you get it in, work out the bugs come help me install one in my car when the T-5 goes out Congrats on getting into the "shifter" world I'm jealous about the 6 speed, I've got one (not T56 obviously) in my G35 sedan and I love it! How did you get the car up to your place from Vinny's? D. -
There was this guy on TV the other day complaining "Damn 3 dollar a gallon gas prices" as he was filling up his HUMMER!!!! Yet another reason I sold my lifted 03 Dodge gas hog and bought an Infiniti G35 sedan with a 6 speed

I don't know about the D ports however looking at the shot you provided shorty plugs would be in order! I too ordered the Sanderson headers at first, I returned them because there was no way in the world they were going to fit, nice quality but improper fit really disappointed me. Can you not run the Hooker shorty headers? I did with my trick flow heads allbeit it's tight with the angled plug heads but with 90* plug boots and the short accel plugs it works, you just have to be "careful" when routing the wires. Sorry I cannot answer the d port question. Just a few posts down this guy is running an LT1 with hooker block huggers http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=110944

Nice house Mike!!! Here's the slum I have for sale in Bentonville Arkansas. http://superhutch.com/cgi-bin/home_view.cgi?id=463229

Oh please make some prints of that and sell them, fantastic artistry!!!!
-
Crap was I bidding against you on those? I wanted them for the Scarab, oh well sorry if I drove the price up, if it was the same set.

If you're so worried about the waves in the glass have the shop straighten it out, tell em you want it as flawless as possibe. It's not like you haven't dropped a ton of money in this car already. Every thing you've done with the 240 has been first class, so why stop short on this part. BTW I vote for BLACK, sinister looking, hope I never have you pull up next to me at a stop light, you'll see how fast my car can turn right

Tony, PM sent and thanks for the vote!!! David

I’d just like to share this with the Hybridz family. I attended Branson Zfest over the weekend with my wife and the 4 month old twinz, Simon and Elijah. First off BIG thanks to my wife for putting up with my obsession of these cars, second thanks to her for transporting the boys over at 3am so we could all be there as a family. A quick word of advice to all new parents, I would not recommend taking infants to car shows, period. It was a hassle but well worth it in the end. Pound9oh9z made it over too was good to see ya again bud!!! The Branson show is strictly a people’s choice, one vote per participant, top 4 cars. I have been doing little things to the Scarab in preparation for this show for a few months (remember I have very little free time since the twinz demand our constant attention!) So what I did was clean up the car, put clear lenses on the corners and front turn signals (Too intense restoration thanks!) change the plugs and oil, put some new Edelbrock Elite series valve covers on (vintage Edelbrock ribbed ones won’t fit with the full roller rockers, darn.) Well at the banquet we were the last ones to arrive to a packed dinning hall, not a seat in sight for mom and dad toting twins in infant car carriers, the bar was empty so we set up there (there goes dad of the year award, sitting at a bar with my twinz haha) I knew the car was clean and garnered a lot of attention during the show but wasn’t quite sure how much attention because there were a LOT of nice cars there! As they called out the fourth place winner I was a bit let down, we didn’t make the cut. Then third, nope not us either, second…my hopes had all but gone out the door, then first place peoples choice was announced…the winners David and Lisa Sommer!!! I was elated I was holding Elijah in my arms when they announced it and took him up with me to collect our award. Wow what a weekend!!!! Thanks Lisa!!!! Pics courtesy of TC at Zmods.org

This sound like a good deal for a SBC?
dsommer replied to Mycarispurty's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
$400 bones! I'd scoop it up for that price, swap out that cam though. Build a nice little engine, probably has cast pistons but what the hey $400 is a DEAL since all the machine work is done and it's assembled. You'd better go get it before somebody else does. -
Backordered Panasports
dsommer replied to cscottmiller's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
I've got the 0 offset on the Scarab they do rub BUT I think part of it has to do with tire width (sp) I'm running Dunlop 9000's, they rub check out tirerack.com and compare tire specs. The rear suspension setup Im running is Tokicko springs, Illuminas, poly bushings. The Dunlops are wider than some tires, I "think" if I ran the Firestone wide ovals the tire would not rub. But then again I could aggressivle (sp) roll the fender, but on a damn near perfect Scarab? Hmmmm maybe I should put the BBS 14 inchers back on it.... If you need specific measurements PM me. TIRE SIZE IS 225-50-16, SORRY LATE 11-14-06 David -
No crap, use the search function! It's a STICKY at the top of this forum. Did you even BOTHER to look at it or just register and post away. SEARCH, SEARCH, SEARCH. You don't have the car yet so I DOUBT you're going to buy the wheels (about $2400 US) prior to buying the car. So I guess you have a little bit of time to make your decision huh? Lets move this to the TOOL SHED!!!
