  1. I once ran into/over a (get this) 5 gallon bucket on the interstate. It got lodged under the Pilot, no damage, I thought it was kinda funny, Lisa on the other hand.....snicker, snicker.
  2. I've heard about "sponsors" beware some of them ask for money, you and I know it doesn't work that way. As far as pushing it toward being a show car don't worry about that they should know that this is your daily driver and it's going to get dirty. See what they offer up as far as parts then weigh out the good and bad.
  3. I purchased the strut tower braces and taillights. SOLD!
  4. PM sent, sad to see this happening.
  5. From reading all those words runing together, mine hurts too!!!
  6. Seems the the majority agree that rust repair is a waste of valuable resources. Consider this. While saving a continuing to search for a "better" car. Begin dismanteling the one you have. Go ahead and pull the entire rearend, replace all the bushings lower control arms etc, clean it and paint it and place aside. If you're going to use the I-6 pull it too same thing clean rebuild/re-ring the engine. These things will keep you moving forward and keep you interested in the car. Just work on the "parts" so when you do find a car worth building you'll have all the parts ready to go on the car. Just another idea. As Pete said it will nickel and dime you to death. These cars will do that anyway (did to me anyhow). Good luck.
  7. Thank you for the link!!! Looks like I'll be selling my 17X7 Azteks and ordering a set of Venturas in the same size as Nazar. Thank you Centerline for stepping up to the plate and bringing affordable wide wheels to the market!!!
  8. Lot of rust to contend with. Why not buy a car from one of the AZ vendors? Just a shell or what ever? Here's the way I look at it. You're going to spend a LOT of time repairing rust, what is your time worth? $$$ of course. If you start out with a more solid car you'll be able to spend more time on engine, drivetrain and small body work than with the project you have on your hands there. My first Z was in poor shape too, floors had been cut out and rivited into place were new sheet metal floors. I parted that car out, got my $600 plus out of the parts and went and found another car. Just my .02 worth, but I wouldn't rebuild what you have there, use for spare parts or sell items but to dump hard earned cash and not to mention your TIME into it, pass. I'm sure somebody on the board would be willing to help you find something better if you ask. Go here and see this, I know this guy and the car. It's not a steal but no rust. http://skidcity.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=201
  9. Nazar, Is Centerline building you a 4 lug 9.5" wide wheel? They said they wouldn't go over 8" for me.
  10. Bet your neighbors LOVE you!!! hahahaha
  11. I'm running Accel shorty plugs and 90* boot ends on the wires with ceramic headers (trick flow angle plug heads BTW). I burned one boot not bad but I replaced it anyway. The Scarab has uncoated headers, angle plug X2 camel hump heads and wire condoms, no issues there either.
  12. OK you wanted an opinion so now I'll give you mine. See that round kero heater you've got sitting there? Have you ever replaced the wick on it? If you have and succeded good for you. I was replacing my and it wouldn't roll up and down correctly, worked on that POS for an hour. Finally got so fed up I beat the $hit out of it with a 2lb sledge. Temper temper. Oh your car looks great. I envy those that go EFI, wish I would have initially, perhaps later I'll go Edelbrock or Holly EFI. The only thing I would recomend is wraping all the wires with some black split tubing, which I'm sure you are going to do anyway.
  13. Sounds like you better get square with you wife or the cold garage floor may become your new bed.
  14. I work 1 mile from the Wal-Mart home office in Bentonville, AR. I'm going to hit the jackpot!!!!

  18. Might be the Hooker Scarab kit. Post some pics. As many on this board have gone the direction of the JTR kit vs the "original" Scarab style kit. Difference being engine placement.
  19. I'd love to see some of the pics you've got of the Porsche conversion. I'm considering the V-8 Porsche for my next project, way down the road though.
  20. Way to go Terry!!! I should submit the Scarab, I've even got a story behind the aqusition of the car, I know they've been leaning tward specs and history of the cars of the month. I'm gonna do it. Take pics this weekend since I got a new digi cam.
