  1. I'm with Vintage and slownrusty. who cares if its a 2+2, it's still a Z. While that may be a lot of rust for a Z car from out west, that's not that bad for an east coast Z, IMO. It's in significantly better condition than my '72. I always hate seeing people scrap a Z car just because it has a little more rust than the want to deal with. Fix it up and make it the Z car you've always wanted. Nows your chance.
  2. Looks like BRAAP's got it pretty well covered, but I'll post the pictures anyway. I can only guess what's what though.

your car is really clean! the wheels look great, too. what suspension do you have? it doesnt look stock.
  4. i do the same thing. ive got two regular forums (this one, and another thats basically a giant OT section). if forums are slow ill pick a topic, usually one relating to my z or something for my z, and research it. this weekend's topic was chevy 350's, and now 383's. i've got three backup forums as well for when ive got absolutely nothing else to do. ah, yes. youtube. always a great way to kill time, which i have a LOT of.
  5. guilty as charged. i dont wanna know how much work id get done if i werent an internet addict, since it would probably be a little depressing.
  6. my dad attempted to make one, just as a fun experimental project. from what hes told me, all it did was burn gas, make noise and shoot flames. i just asked him, and he said it probably would propel something but he didnt want to push it that far. probably wont help you much, but thats all i got. its still together on a cart in my grandmas barn though, so i guess if you want pictures of it, i could get some.
  7. its a stock 240z bumper. its possible he modified the brackets, although the fit doesnt looks any tighter to me.
  8. i dont think a ZX tank will work. the s30 tank is shaped to go around the spare tire well, but on the zx, the spare tire well was moved to inside the passenger quarter, so the tank isnt shaped like that.
  9. if its really that clean, see if someone on classiczcars.com wants it or do what jmortensen said. i dont think i could modify it either, if its that nice and original.
  10. maybe this is just me, but i dont think that looks all that bad. if anything, id expect worse on an east coast z. however, there is probably more hiding.
  11. i disagree. i have changed my mind more times than i can count since i was 11 on what car i wanted. i also had absolutely no idea what i was doing (in some cases, i still dont). IMO, it wouldnt be a good idea to get an 11 year old a car in most cases.
  12. i know the guy who owns that site why i clicked when i knew what it was though, i have no idea...
  13. from what i remember, he cut the patch off a parts car. i dont think you can get that patch panel new. i believe that car belongs to 78zLT1. ill check that now. edit: yep, thats his car. that pic, among others can be found here: http://picasaweb.google.com/78zlt1/Datsun
  14. stay red. IMO, itll look much cleaner than red, with a black hood and airdam.
  15. 2 hours according to google maps. pretty tied down with school work though, this week is the end of the semester.
  16. you'd be a bit hesitant to say that if you saw my 240z
  17. those quarters and rockers are sooo tempting. how much?
  18. looks like quite a bit of rust, and as ive recently learned, theres probably much more hiding. looks like there a bit of bondo on it too, which would make me worried. haha, same here!
  19. is the car bent, or just badly dented? it looks like if you **really** wanted to, you could fix it, but i could be wrong.
  20. why not use adhesive? http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=128208
  21. that was hard to read. glad youre ok though, thats most important.
  22. you shouldnt have to if youre careful... but i know if i were doing it, i would end up with a few.
  23. as far as i know you drill out the spot welds and once theyre all gone, it should just come off.
