since youre in minnesota, i say 240sx. i would never want an S30 for a DD anywhere but CA or AZ. i would expect the 240sx to be more reliable too.
also, not all bmws are expensive. an E30 318 can be had for <$2500, and even higher mileage E36 M3s can be had for <$10000
240z's made up to 12/71 should have the hatch with vertical defroster lines. my '72 does. if it is indeed a '70 hatch, it should have the hatch vents, which it doesnt seem to have, so id guess its a '71 hatch.

i could be way off, but the first person that comes to mind for me is olderthanme. i dont know where he posted it though. sorry i cant be of more help.
a guy around here with a 30's buick or something had tires like that, and i think he said the front end just goes up when you step on it. of course, he puts a hemi into everything he owns which may have something to do with it...
sure did. and i just bought a 240z that only needed floor pans and subframes...NOT!
do yourself a favor and get one from CA or AZ thats rust free or close to it.
i use photobucket.com for hosting images.
since your frame rail was twisted, was your front end bent as well? if so, did you just bend it back? my 240z has a bent frame rail, so im trying to see what other people did to fix it.
mine did... patch panels from tabco, some sheet metal for new floors and various other things, and some metal to build a rotisserie...and a fire extinguisher so my grandmas barn doesnt burn down in case of a fire.
i've spent $800 on my 240z, which was just how much i paid for it, and $2500 on my 280z, again, just how much i paid for it. i can see each of them costing more than $20,000 easily to get them how i want them, though.
