  1. HOAs are there because some people enjoy having not only their house, but all the ones in the neighborhood looking nice, and kept in good condition. If you don't want to live by HOA rules, don't move there! It's REALLY not that complicated. Sparks hit the nail on the head. Having neighbors with goats, ugly as hell chain link fences, poorly cut, if cut at all, lawns, cars sitting on the lawn going nowhere, boarded up windows in the garage, what have you, is a MASSIVE eye sore. (Those examples are not directed at you, BTW). Although, for the record, I wouldn't want to live in an HOA either, I'd rather just live in a nice neighborhood where people "get it."
  2. What do you have for an interior?
  3. What do you have for an interior?
  4. Wow Dave, not too shabby! That looks pretty good!
  5. Do you know how old some F1 drivers are? You can't make general statements like that. Not to mention, bjhines has a LOT of track experience. I think he knows what he is doing. I could go on, but honestly, you post reads like you are jealous, and know a few kids who had a bad crash. Which will tend to happen in racing. Lastly, I really don't see why they should have to work on it. Some people only want to drive their cars, and if they don't have to work on them, who cares? I don't.
  6. If I'm not mistaken, all the panels you mentioned are held in with plastic rivets. MSA (motorsport auto/thezstore.com) should sell them, but ModernS30 had a better solution to that, but I forget what it was. Hopefully he sees this thread.
  7. The "Datsun" badge has three pins, and sits diagonally. The "240Z" badge has two pins, and sits horizontally below, and a tiny bit to the right of the "Datsun" badge. To try to put it into perspective, the 2 in 240Z is directly below the space between the T and the S in Datsun.
  8. It's gorgeous dude. I've been taking notes for if/when I ever build my own dream Z.
  9. BTW, how much did you spend getting the motor?
  10. I don't think this has been done before. However, I'm looking forward to seeing yours completed. He's from Norway, so I don't think english is his first language. I didn't see any horrible errors either, so it's not a big deal. Mods mostly want you to at least make an effort, they don't expect everyone who posts here to have flawless grammar and spelling.
  11. Keep in mind you just said that on a Z enthusiast site.
  12. Would've been better without the music IMO. I wanna hear the cars. Yes, he said what song it was in the first post.
  13. That is f'n stupid. Considering I get irked by people parting out perfectly good/restorable cars, you can imagine what's going through my head right now...

  15. Wow, that car is soooo much better than your 280Z. I will admit, I am definitely jealous of how solid it is. Is there any rust at all? Are you scrapping your 280Z? Based on what others have said on this site, I think you would be MUCH better off getting a spare tire well to weld in, and getting a stock fuel tank.
  16. Regarding the graphite bits, I'm not entirely sure it works with the orange, but it certainly doesn't look bad. On the other hand, I can't really think of a color (besides black) that would be a better choice, and I agree that painting them black would have been too much. Definitely better than orange though, at least on the bumpers. You could get away with it on the handles, but I'm not sure if it would look better or worse. Same with the mirrors. Bottom line though is it looks pretty good. Heh, just noticed it matches the wheels too. Also I am curious what made you choose the RB25DE. Mind explaining? Not knocking it, just curious because it's not one you see very often. What are your plans for the suspension? What's the anticipated use for the car?
  17. So you don't have time to search for the answer to a question that's been covered more times than anyone would care to count, but you think you will be able to find time to work on a Z and keep it maintained and running?
  18. I say go for it. If you're doing ZG flares, I think you should paint match them as well.
  19. Guys, I don't think he's going to reply, since, well, he's no longer a member here
  20. I think it would look good, based on those pics.
  21. I've bought a few things from him, and would definitely buy again in the future.
  22. Thanks guys! Just so you all know, this is for a class at 12:15 tomorrow, so if you'd like to help me out, try to get it done tonight, by about 1AM EST. Josh, that is definitely the most detailed one I've gotten, haha. FWIW though, I can sympathize. I'm on academic probation, not sure how it's gonna go. I f'd up a Chem quiz yesterday I should have gotten 100% on (and needed to), my Programming teacher is a ******* lunatic, and the other two classes, I should do okay in, but I need to do better than "okay" to stay in school... unless I have some sort of epiphany where I can suddenly force myself to do school work for hours on end, and get 100% on everything going forward, I'm probably going to have to go to a hearing or whatever it is to stay in school (if they're nice). On top of at least one learning disability, I am also absolutely horrible at time management. Combined with being unmotivated for who knows what reason, and add in a little laziness, well, it doesn't work out. I've never been a good student, for one reason or another... Just read your response to #4... I used to do that. Eventually I got sleep deprived and started realizing that after a certain point it just wasn't going to get done, and would just go to sleep. The bonus was that now I wasn't (as) sleep deprived... but my homework still wasn't done.
  23. Nope, that should be fine, just wanted to make sure you did it.
