  1. Paul, I just noticed your avatar... love it.
  2. FWIW, I never cared for the mesh fairlady grill, especially for the price. I think two 240z grills looks pretty good, or a custom grill like HLS30-08077 has. BTW, do you need a roof skin? I have one that I really don't see myself using, but you're a little far for local pickup.
  3. From what I gather you pretty much want to do almost exactly what zcarsource.com already does, although they refurbish parts as well. Of course, they are pretty much Z car specific, ie, no aftermarket parts, no non-factory parts. Are you looking to gather parts from other cars that can be used on a Z as well? I don't think there is anyone doing that, so that could work.
  4. Instead of the door cards, why not the little panel in front of the doors? I've seen them mounted there. Don't know if it'll get in the way of your feet, but just thought I'd throw the idea out there. And I agree, don't cut your nice black door cards. I do not like the speakers-in-the-door mod AT ALL.
  5. If you're looking for an M E36 that's not an M3, what on earth could you possibly be looking for? An M coupe/roady?
  6. You have to do a little bit of trimming - not much - around where the reverse light is on the 280z. It probably won't be a glove-like fit, but it'll fit. Aziza Z did the conversion BTW.
  7. I bet it's a donating member's option.
  8. Looks great Mark! I like that you're still going for an OEMish look, not something you see very often.
  9. I like the underside of the hood. That's cool!
  10. The screw goes into a nut spot welded to the car, if anything (I never checked). There is no nut to worry about. Best bet, assuming you can get to it might be some vice grips... or perhaps use a dremel to put a slot in it, although I can't recall ever doing that with any success. Sorry I can't really help.
  11. KnuckleDuster has them, or similar, in his 240z. WW (I think is his username) also has them in his RB26 240z. IMO, they are the perfect seat for the Z cars.
  12. I'm not fond of the modifications page either. It's just a PITA. Editing almost anything in the garage also takes some figuring out. I agree. It needs work.
  13. Dtsnlvrs had a similar thing done to his car for rust repair (see his project thread). You might try asking him to get a ballpark price *shrug*.
  14. No way, feel free to post your project. I believe we have an "other projects" section just for that in the member's projects forum. I think one of our moderators here actually doesn't and didn't ever have a Z (although I might be wrong). Don't worry about it. And I, for one, happen to be a fan of hot rods/rat rods. It's on the short list of things I want to do after the Z.
  15. Yeah, I don't mean to discourage you, but I would just get a 90s Camry or Civic or Accord or something. I would not consider a Z car to be reliable. It might not leave you stranded, but that doesn't mean it won't give you problems. Although I'm sure it's doable, I personally wouldn't recommend daily driving ANY classic car. Get a newer reliable car, keep the 240z as a toy, and go nuts with it.
  16. I don't like it either, but I gotta give credit where it's due.
  17. I think I must be the only person on the planet that likes the buzzer.
  18. It appears to be crack free from what I can see.
  19. +1 on Yosemite. Went there 5-6 years ago and really enjoyed it.
  20. Now you can't go and post something like this without including pictures, a video, etc, etc.
