  1. He's on the board. I'll see if I can find his profile. Here: http://forums.hybridz.org/member.php?u=31817
  2. I'm a little confused. Did you sell off all your other L28ET stuff and buy this new car? Or do you have 2 L28ETs and you're gonna run one and build the other? Or, C) Other?
  3. I saw your VIN in your sig earlier today and quite frankly, it's kinda confused me. Sounds like someone did away with the series one vent and C pillar bits. Behind the C pillar badge on a series one car, there is nothing, just two holes for the emblem to go on. One way that should tell for sure is your rear deck. Lift up the carpet. Just behind the seat/ in front of the strut towers should be about 12 holes if it's a series one, or two compartments roughly 6"x10" each if it's a later model. Here's a pic, although it doesn't show the whole thing... Neither of those are series one specific. All 240Zs should weigh in around 2300lbs - it is said the earlier ones (70/71) are a little lighter though. Any kind of frame rail, either in the engine compartment, under the floors, etc, will be the same on all 240Zs.
  4. Are you going to give it some shape or...? What do you have in mind?
  5. I think the original 901 silver would be a great choice for the type of build you are doing.
  6. Compared to where I am, they are. I suppose I should have said "less rust" instead of "no rust" though.
  7. Are you Mike from TST? Anyway, I would recommend buying one from the west coast. Less rust to worry about, and Zs are generally cheap and plentiful there in good condition. Shipping isn't going to be less than any rust repair you do on an east coast car. That's my plan and I would encourage anyone else to do the same. My $.02.
  8. Indeed. Best action is to just report the post as spam and move on.
  9. All 260Zs have 280Z style dashboards and tail lights. The dashboards should be interchangeable from 74-78. Also, don't scrap that L24. It should have the early style SU carbs, E31 head, and 2400cc valve cover, all of which, I believe, are series one specific. The oil pan might be worth something as well. The guys on classiczcars.com will let you know.
  10. 70 and early 71 cars (series 1) had vents in the hatch like you're describing.
  11. It's definitely a 70 or 71. I think they're the same design in both years if I'm not mistaken...
  12. If you're referring to the black tar stuff, roughly 1/8" thick, then yes. It's on the floors, tranny tunnel, and hatch floor.
  13. If you're asking if you can remove the sound deadener, then yes you can. Dry ice helps with that.
  14. I can't believe I'm saying it but I think the gold looks better.
  15. Good story. I remember reading it when you first posted it, but it was nice to read it again. Got any pics of the car?
  16. To be honest, I think any S30 would catch my attention on the road.
  17. If I remember correctly, there is a bracket that bolts to the tranny tunnel, and theres two screw holes in the side of your center console where it would bolt to. If I am not mistaken, it appears yours is missing. You pretty much nailed it in your post. It's a pretty simple bracket. Flat piece with the ends bent up basically.
  18. My 240z is 901 silver. Kinda like it but I think I'll change it. My parents 280z is what I'm assuming is 216 white. I would prefer 904.
  19. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=157415 Just in your price range too.
  20. Wow, I can't believe the shape the car is in, given how you found it. I would have run from that, fast. Good job bringing it back.
  21. There's a dead Z around the 40 second mark.
