  1. I have the same engine in my '88 Mazda 323GT. The turbo is an IHI VJ11, and yes its pretty small, but thats factory fitted stuff from the '80s for you, its only spooling a 1.6L engine too, known as the B6T and is almost identical to the first gen. Miata motor. Swap looks awesome Ulises!!! Keep it coming! In my car I have a full 2.5" exhaust, turboXS manual boost controller, fully reprogrammed computer and I run 14-15psi all day....I have walked away from some big fish....not bad for a 18year old car with 170K on the clock. 2. Yasin wants this for Christmas: and this: and everything in this pic: Yasin
  3. The 380SL and the 450SL are the exact car, chassis, etc etc.....they are of course the convertible 2door model. The 380SL is the smallest V8 3.8L hence the name 380SL that Mercedes offered at the time. The 450SL is the older 4.5L V8 and "used" to be the largest V8 Mercedes made up unitl 1983, when they went with the 5.0L V8. The 4.5L V8 is a far superior engine to the rather waek 3.8L Been messing with Benzes since 1980...so I am very famililar with these models. Mercedes numbers their cars based on engine size and body style, for example: E55 - 5.5L in an E-Class (4door) S430 - 4.3L in a S-Class (4door) SLK350 - 3.5L in a SLK Convertible etc etc Yasin

For whatever reason this post is REALLY troubling me.... The owner of the Turbo Civic looks like there is tidy sum of $$$ invested in that car. From the picture...the red valve cover is the B18C5...this is the Integra Type R engine...extremely sought after. The nicely crafted manifold, the external WG etc etc you can tell some big $$$ were spent on this car. What is troubling me is that the loser of the race just walks away from a $10,000+ investment in his car? We are not talking a clapped out Escort here!! I could never NEVER do that, especially after the time and effort. I don't mind talking some smack and then even receive a humbling session, but to sign over my car to the person that just beat me....screw that bull$hitt. So what happens on the show, does the camera to the loser at the bus stop as they roll the credits? I used to race alot on the street...ALOT....its the way I funded my car projects and I put the hurt down on alot of cars and at the same time my ego sometimes got the best of me and I would in return receive a demolishing. But at the end of the night, we went home (after breakfast at 6am!!) and thought about how to make the car faster, there was never any talk of taking the opponent's car. It would be OK, if on the show, you got to keep the loser's car, but Speed should at least give something to the owner...equivalent $$$ in Snap-Ons, a new project car for them to build and come back as a re-match or just plain outright cash. My morals...I could never take the loser's car. But thats me. Beating them alone, is a good enough "shut-up!". Yasin
  6. Awesome work Mike....looking great...that S12 is going be sweet. A 7MGTE MA60 Supra makes me wet in the pants! The MR2 next to the FD looks pretty menacing. Yasin
  7. I would be honored to own a DR30.....
  8. You can buy a mid' 80s Porsche 928S2 for less than $5000. I saw some real project ones go for $2500-$3500 on eBay. You get the better brakes and the more updated look. Plus you can pull the Porsche V8 and sell it for $800 easy. I would not even bother with the Jag....not even in the same league. Yasin
  9. Wow....that got my juices flowing this morning....awesome video! Yasin
  10. Bitter cars were highly respected at one time in Europe (late '70 to mid '80s), Erich was a former big wig or head engineer at Opel and had an alliance with them (if I remember correctly and as per Scottie's reply). I have a whole gammet of info on these cars if anyone cares, and can scan and post them up here. Yasin
  11. Can't wait to see pics....!!! Yasin
  12. How do the test station refs or even the cops know if the engine is OBD or not? Yasin
  13. Is that the scrap yard that is on Finch East by the train tracks? Like 10minutes east of the Zoo? If so...I'll be there in jiff...packing tools and firing up the Leer as I type. Yasin
  14. That is VERY cheap for Toronto scrap yards....most of the time those guys are a rip off. Good score. Yasin
