  3. I can only think of three "niche" markets that traditionally go with big block Ford engines. (352, 390, 427, 428, 429, 460) * 1960's retro-factory-drag replicas like the Thunderbolt based on Fairlane and Galaxie platforms, *1967-73 Mustang resto-rodders, and *Cobra replicas. Even combined, I think the numbers of guys building their own cars is too small to demand a low-cost supply from the mass-market performance parts manufacturers.
  4. I remember when he hosted Saturday Night Live and tap-danced for the opening monologue. One of the comedy sketches has him doing a kung fu fight in an otherwise empty store (no opponent), so he tells the cashier, "And now I must destroy your shop."

  7. No, you did it the right way. I've been billet-free for years. It's the small details that make all the difference between guys who build their own cars, and guys who write a check to someone else.

  10. I would make a spacer between the bell casting and the outer race out of shim stock. You definately want a snug fit to prevent the outer race from spinning in the case. http://www.mcmaster.com/#metal-shim-stock/=1q732b

  17. A quick google search lists Tilton ports come in 1/8NPT, 3/16" inversted flare, or -3AN. Tote your cylinder down the plumbing aisle of your neighborhood NAPA store and you can easily identify the thread with a test fit of a known-size fitting. They have a cabinet full of adaptors.
