  1. Watch out with the open chamber, dished piston, 9.5:1, carbs, and pump gas. There is far more power to be had at 8.5-8.8 running good timing, and you get to keep your pistons. The open chamber/dished piston combo is notorious for not liking much compression - especially without the aid of 02 sensors and fuel and timing control. If you are racing and can run good gas go right ahead, but I would caution if your trying to do it with a small cam and 93 octane.
  2. And don't forget that if you want to run high 9's in a s30 700 is overkill. Zgad ran VERY deep into the 9's on a 700whp 2j-and that is a big HEAVY engine.
  3. ^^^^The stock pistons won't get anywhere near 700 hp.
  4. People only regret their first tire purchase because they cheap out on it. Just get the Michelins.
  5. Well there is a benefit to larger valves given at some point. What I don't get is what makes these valves worth $34 each ($408/12) while other stainless steel valves on the market are $16 each. Am I missing something? Even the Kameari long distance race stuff is $385. The smaller L24 valves in my friends stroker where good enough to make 217rwhp.
  6. Well the exhaust can be quite different in the s130, but it has been done by a few guys here. As for which is best for your needs... ls1tech is about the best source available. Best of luck!
  7. I'm sure there is a plethora of information on the abs system if you look in the right place. The origin of your r200 is where I would start searching.
  8. Yes, that looks like the pan. But this cars pan was modified with a naca duct iirc.
  9. I spent 16 hours with a can of wd40, a hole saw, and a grinder on my dash frame. I was rewarded with a little more than an ounce per hour... I've never worked so cheap.
  10. No problem. Yes, its all out there. Yes. NO-hence shifter mod. You're welcome.
  11. Adapter, driveshaft, shifter mod, do it.
  12. There was a viper acr a few years back in Hot Rod mag that had an aluminum under tray, everything was sealed except the rear diff. There was a naca duct that opened just before the diff and expanded out just beyond its housing and then vented behind it. I thought it was quite the novel way to cool the diff.
  13. I guess I dropped the ball on this. My apologies, I have just been covered up with work.
  14. Don't you have a hood? Never heard so many suggestions for engine swaps based on how it looks in the engine bay, aside from the 32 ford crowd.
  15. Cary, I'm assuming you have composite body panels other than the gnose and door skins. Or is the where some that other 100+ pounds will come from?
  16. Let me see if I can rally some troops for this.
  17. I have them in black or red for $80 shipped for the pair.
  18. Yes stock springs are good for 7250 rpm, and they are also only good for about .460 lift in most cam applications. Rpm is not the only way to float valves.
  19. ^^^^^ must be new here. Search is your friend. PMC builds them like that, probably others.
  20. NASCAR would be using turbos if they helped. And my engine only responds to "Ride the Lightning" "Kill em All" "And Master of Puppets".
