  1. There are some old mercedez springs that guys used to run. Very stiff and long but they would cut them down and adapt them. There is info about it on this site. Also s13 stuff is not hard to swap over, making brake and bearing upgrades even easier.
  2. I hope that spacing them 2" out doesn't kill the install. The 14" wide wheels that I have that were on a s30 with 280yz (I think) rear flares and just barely fit. And they are a touch too wide for my s130 wide body. Usually it is the finding wheels to fit the widebody that is a pain, I think you may have the opposite problem. But I hope I'm wrong.
  3. Same long block and cam. If the induction, exhaust, and tune were all changed it is NOT the same engine. If it was not tested back to back on the same machine with the same tuner at the same elevation, temp, barometer, etc it is absolutely not comparable.
  4. Clean car, but I have to ask, what on earth made you think it was 2100 lbs? 73' 240 2300ish, -L24 and 4spd (450)= 1850 + RB and 5spd (800)= 2650 before you add or subtract anything else. These weights are mere approximations so don't beat on me too bad guys...
  5. What has lead to the conclusion that both the ECU and turbo are bad? You only need more fuel if you are compensating for more air, if you are not running more than the stock wastegate will allow than the stock injectors are fine. If you put larger injectors on the car and retain the factory ecu it will really run poorly.
  6. Go to the "pics of your z" thread, there is nearly 100 pages of the kind of pics you are looking for. There is also a search button at the top right of your screen that can work wonders if you use it.
  7. ^^^ Roughly the same price as the Cometic shipped. Does anyone know what the shipping and handling would be on the one from RHDJ?
  8. At this point, the cometic is the cheapest and will probably ship faster.
  9. Looks like you'll be getting some air from the wheel wells and (hopefully) that helps the air under the car. Yes, that can mean dirt also, but I never thought dirt was for show cars ^^^^. Looking good so far! Here's to pics of a finished product and dare I say it... proper rubber.
  10. Check Clifford and Arizona Z car.
  11. Should this be in the Vendor forum?
  12. Get a .63 with the proper wheel and you will have all the rpm you need. I like the p-trim.
  13. Well John Williams is here is Suwanee, right behind Balanced performance. I have a friend in Lawrenceville whose Mikunis run as good as anybody's. And I can dig up a couple of former Sunbelt engine guys.
  14. Good on you for tracking down the machine. As far as the local L expertise a few of them are still floating around. I can look them up in a round about sort of way if you want.
  15. Why not sunbelt? They are right down the road and have done more cam and valve train harmonics development on these engines than any one else this century. I also have the SI valves, but in 44/38 I will get them on the scale soon.
  16. Wow that website looks great! I haven't checked it in a while. As far as I can tell they still do some L engine development; though, Datsun is not there typical customer any more. The shop is a hustle and bustle of bimmer, 350/370z, P-cars, and other non-door cars. Some of the former sunbelt LGata specialist have dispersed and it is good to know where to find them.
  17. So... RB must be better because they are sitting around blown up all the time? Buy an RB30 block and a L28 bored to 3.0 throw em on a scale. Then tear them down and put the rod bearings, main bearings, rods, oil pump, etc out for comparison. That will answer the question "What is better about which one?".
  18. Well the 26 head is a bit more difficult than the 25, neither has been done in an hour from what I can tell. Most guys probably won't do their first one in a day. Last I checked it was $1500 to ship a pallet from OZ to ATL which is less than that horny guy would make on the way better head. I think some folks are looking at this wrong any way... It is not that the rb head is an upgrade to the L28, more like an L28 bottom is an upgrade for the RB. Here's to a 25 year legal R32 with a 3.3L, Merica!
  19. Have they made a video where the radiator cap is on?
  20. Well if Paul says so then it must be; although, I have never seen that kind of bump from swapping over to one. Not sure why one would go through the trouble of swapping and modifying a stock intake manifold, yet not modify it to make power. There is an awful lot of flow to be had inside those stock runners and plenum.
  21. Those decals should only be used to paint the letters on those calipers, as they will be gone the first time you actually use the brakes. Paint that area of the caliper the color you want the letters. Let it cure thoroughly then install the decal over the letters, then paint the caliper. Once that flashes you can remove the decal and expose your painted letters.
