  1. wow that looks really good, quite possibly my favorite gauges ever. nice jorb!
  2. something like this perhaps....muhahahahaha actually, I'm looking at getting a different intercooler similar to the ones pictured above...when I have the money...sigh
  3. YES! My vote was for the M3, but I'm a bit biased I think I would try out the new M coupe, or roadster, now THAT is one hot and fun car. i dont know how you feel though about having two BMW's in the family.
  4. thats awesome! without the blower it looks as though the SBC would fit under the stock hood!!!! OH I so want that!!!!
  5. Spain all the way babeeeeeeee!!!!!
  6. ...I would avoid doing this but I may have a possible solution.. first off though you mentioned you could move it forward but its close to the coil? why not just move the coil? its certainly less destructive than cutting into the chassis.. but anyway...If there really is NO and I mean NO other choice you could cut the strut tower and fab up two large triangular braces that are welded onto the strut tower and the back to the inner fender (im assuming this is a Z car?) (pictures would certainly help) place one above the cut, and one below it. that the first thing that pops into me head, any chassis experts agree?
  7. Thanks again for the compliments everyone... This friday morning starts the disassembly of my 1991 parts car, Im basically going to cut the car down into a running front clip and throw the leftovers on ebay or sell it to a scrap yard (whats the average going price per pound for metal these days anyway?) Looks like my special lady friend will be helping me along with the sawzall (she's really excited about the prospect of cutting a car into pieces ) I will be sure to take lots of pictures, there are a few P1800 guys that are interested in motor and trans mounts so lots of documentation is guaranteed... yup thats the spot, have you gone to a meeting yet? to the best of my knowledge there are only 3 turbo 240Zs running around, one is mine, another is yours, and then there is the mystery car I keep hearing about but no ones ever witnessed...sigh...wish there was more participation between local hybridZ owners....or just Z owners in general.
  8. LOL thats freaking great! welcome aboard!
  9. Its the old paxton pump but it has the same footprint. there are four rubber feet (mercedes air box isolators) bolted between the pump and the mount to keep vibration down. the feet are then bolted to two pieces of 3/4x3" flat bar thats welded to a 1/2 spacer and welded again to a length of 1/2 square tube. The square tube is riveted to the gas tank straps to further isolate the vibration. ummm.... juries out on just how helpful mounting it to the gas tank straps was...I was trying to get the fuel pump as close to the lowest most fuel level as possible and this is what I came up with. Right now im working on welding in a new sump and a NOS 240Z tank and installing a surge tank to go along with it. It may require that I rework the pump mount... I'm thinking about bolting it to the mustache bar...
  10. GRRRRR... Alright so just how many of us have painted our cars the same colour! geez!!!!!!!111111!!! lol get out of my head!
  11. I personally think its a great colour...but then again im a little biased. lol

that is just SICK! I love it!
  13. the P1800s where all unibody cars, they have a few well known rust issues like the front frame rails, batter tray, rear qtrs and passenger side floor board (stupid heater control valve) much like the common problem spots on the S30 Z cars. This on has a small spot in the battery tray and another small spot on the floor...other than that its clean as can be. I sure am, chances are I will taking the car to a few Z meetings when I get her done. right now im looking at getting her running and driving in the most basic state by the end of july, then she will be off for interior work until august. after that I will button up the electrics, AC, and rear disk conversion for a completion date around October, right around the same time the 240ZT should be finished up and driving. I might take them both to the November meeting, October meeting at the earliest.
  14. Thanks for the compliments everyone... Z-TARD- I agree that the lines on this car are fantastic, when I was driving it no one ever guessed that it was a volvo, it was always Porsche, Ferrari, Alfa etc. while they are cool looking cars IMO they will never be as versatile as the Z car... they are merely ok in the handling dept, and the engine bay is tiny leaving you with few engine choices. I'm wondering if I will change my opinion on them after I modernize her a bit...we shall see veritech-z- Thats funny, I found a snake eyes GI Joe in the back of this one. I also dig the wagons, there is one in SA running a supercharged rover V8...lucky for them the later ES wagons had much more room in the engine compartment and trans tunnel area. Garrett76Zt- I actually looked into that swap for a few months but backed out for a number of reasons... one, it simply will not fit without some hacking up of the car, given that there are not many Jenson 1800s left I just couldnt justify hacking up the car (maybe if it was a later swedish built version) Im already worried that I will have to message the firewall just a bit in order to get the dizzy to fit. another reason is that this car will go to my dad, the last thing he needs...or will even use is more than 200HP l28et- The wheels are unknown, I've never had them off the car and they have no markings on the outside. I seem to remember seeing a set on an early ford ranger at one point in time. chances are these wheels will stay on the car for the time being...I just dont have money in the budget for a set of wheels right now. in the future though she might get a nice set of 16's or 17's...CCWs perhaps?
  15. I started work on my latest project today... a 1962 Volvo P1800, number 2503 of the 6000 jenson bodied coupes built. I drove this car for a few years until the motor grenaded four years ago and it has been sitting in storage ever since. well, a few months ago I got this grand Idea to rebuild the car and present it to my father at christmas...he always talks about it, and how much he would like to have a nice classic car to cruise around in so I figured why not! I bought a 1991 940 two months ago as a donor car...hopefully the 62 will receive the engine, trans, rear axle, front brakes, wiring and AC without putting up too much of a fight. the idea behind using all those parts from the volvo donor is so that in the future if it ever breaks down it can be taken to the nearest volvo specialist for repair...that way there are no crazy surprises or odd ball unknown parts for the mechanic to figure out (I hope). so the goal is to have the engine in and running in the end of july...after that we shall see whats left in the budget and proceed from there... on with the pictures! and the engine, 2.4 DOHC 4! I'm thinking about converting the engine to dual side drafts to help keep the engine compartment clean and add to the "oh SH1T!" factor when you open the hood....other than that decision im right on track more pictures to come as progress is made!
  16. I had a set of old school.....WAY old school enkeis that looked just like that. they were even four lug but they were 13"s...
  17. I was blown away when they showed that Camaro launch...most impressive.
  18. come on baby! daddy needs a hot engine setup!!!!
  19. I think both those engines would be nice on a street car, reliable with enough pep to please most...BUT since this would be a shop car, nothing says balsy, skilled and confident like having built your own high compression carbed RB30. of course you would always put TWM induction on it and run standalone. im picture a mix of that white S30 with works from Japan along with the Super Z with the Gnose..but a little more high tech. ...If the S30 and 432 were to be made today by Nissan. not the cheapest of routes im sure...
  20. Hey Z-tard, I worked at a shop some time ago that built the CSX 4000 series Shelbys...both the leaf springed 289 versions and the 427 version. I dont think I've ever been so frustrated trying to put a car together!!!! everything...and i mean EVERYTHING had to be modified on those things....why would you do that to me?
