  1. AHHH-HA! I would have never guessed Audi...that wing on the back threw me off. congrats on having an awesome girlfriend!
  2. If you wanted to spend a little more cash you could buy a hybrid BOV. this one by gofastbits http://www.gofastbits.com.au/index.php?parentid=products&option=products&sub_option=bovs&sub_sub_option=hybrid vents back into the intake system between the AFM and turbo inlet as well as venting to atmosphere for that special BOV sound. I ran this one on my car for around 300 miles before the car went to paint jail. I only heard it a few times but when I did it was very nice...but! since it does vent back to the intake system the magnitude and length of the burst is lessened. Since coming back from paint jail I've gone standalone management and blocked off the bypass on the BOV. we shall see how loud it is after that.
  3. thats really cool, are you planning on manufacturing these at some point in time?
  4. woh! happy birthday Hybridz.org! special thanks to the founders of this site, the people that keep it working, and all of those that have helped me..even when i was asking stupid questions four years ago. crap! how long have I been posting here? geez!
  5. I too mounted an odyssey dry cell (PC680) under the passenger seat. It fits beautifully, and while you dont have to cut the seat bracing...I did. here are some pictures.
  6. isnt the Si a first year model? I personally dont car how goods its reviews are..until a production car sees some time on the road and in the hands of actual human beings as long term owners and drivers I just wouldnt trust it. wouldnt you hate to buy a new car and have it in the shop every month or two to have things checked out or fixed? I always thought the SE-r was nice and had some potential. what about the 2.5 impreza? http://www.subaru.com/shop/overview.jsp?model=IMPREZA&trim=25I_SEDAN the front end sucks...but its AWD, safe, and starts at 19k. maybe they have a few 05's left on the lot?
  7. LMAO, now thats advice that only a true friend would give!
  8. I was wondering the same thing. Recently I bought two oil coolers from the local yard...one,a Setrab unit from a Volvo Turbo....the other from an RX7..the RX7 unit is HUGE, And i seriously question wether or not its necessary to run a cooler that large on my car (looking for 300+ HP). my question for those that have oil coolers is just that, what unit would you go with? space is also a concern, for those with the RX7 cooler, where did you mount that massive thing! here is a picture of the Volvo cooler http://www.hyperocity.com/volvo240/images/Volvo/oemaccessories/oilcooler.jpg
  9. you've already got the car back together again? and with no bent valves?! nice!! sounds healthy, looks like you've been having some fun
  10. nice parts! some are even reasonably priced. unfortunately though the seats I've always loved and wanted ( http://www.kameariengineworks.co.jp/page49.htm ) are 610$ each. ouch! but the strut tower bar is only 202$, not too bad!
  11. its moved between the calendar and search buttons EDIT..nevermind...I see what your saying now. duh on my part.
  12. i've seen hotrodders paint their engine blocks the same colour of the car. I dont see why you cant do it with a valve cover....at least a alum. valve cover. it just takes a lot of time in prep.
  13. custom made by the owner...I do believe he replaced them last year and maybe even sold his car.
  14. YES! that is exactly true. its an enthusiasts car. my sister has one and I love it! its a great handling car and the engine really has a marvelous feel to it. she has had one problem with it though... you cannot just start the car and then move it out of the driveway to shut it down without it getting up to temperature. if you do this the car will not start again until you change out the spark plugs....they are not easy to get too. milage has been...not so good....but then again my sister and I have lead feet....its a sporty car and honestly i have a hard time driving it like a grandma...i think if i could take it easier I would have had better results
  15. Austin TX? within hours of Texas World speedway, motorsports ranch in Dallas. it does get a little hot though, but there are so many lakes/rivers and greenery in the area that sometimes you dont notice it as much as you do in San Antonio or Houston. Colorado Springs is very nice, home of NORAD. Pikes Peak, and its associated races. it gets cold there, it snows, but its not that bad. hours from the slopes and Denver. its a nice place, I considered moving there once. Charlottesville Virginia? I cant tell you much about it but was very impressed the few times I've been. Historic, Beautiful thats all I've got, there are several nice places to live in this country, a lot of them have very enjoyable moderate climates..but you might have to forgo some of the things on your list.
  16. I'm beginning to wonder about this myself, If I do end up spraying I would like to keep it as hidden as possible...not that it really matters...I just dont want to see tom much crap in my engine bay. Mike, did you get a wet system? I seem to remember people mounting them right at the compressor outlet, but wouldn't that make the nitrous condense in the intercooler? I admit that I know jack about No2, but I've got to try to keep up with Mike somehow
  17. I've always been able to just pull straight up using even steady pressure and my fingers.
  18. you can buy direct through EZwire, they take credit cards, they ship fast.
  19. I mounted mine in the cold start hole. the Haltech manual states that you should mount it as close to the head as possible...I felt that thats about as close as you should, or could really get. plus the fact that there is a hole there already...it just made sense to me. the car is not running yet, so I cannot tell you if i've had any problems. hopefully I will know very soon though.
  20. everyones getting new wheels but me might be time to jump on the killer wheels bandwagon! yippie!
  21. yellow and black is the starter wire. it will send out twelve volts in the "start" position. snip that wire, and hold the two ends in your hand. the end that comes out of the switch needs to be the trigger for a relay, the other end of the wire needs to be the "out" from the relay TO the starter. follow the diagram on the relay using a 12V+ keyed source and a good ground. this is the safest most reliable way to do things, the older our cars get the more electrical gremlins will arise, don't make it harder on yourself, do it right the first time.
  22. you could try running virtualPC through a USB-Serial adapter? I am a mac user as well (15" G4 powerbook) and have been researching the idea for use with my Haltech install but have not come up with any definitive answers.... thus far in my search I have only heard a few people say they can do it, but will not answer my emails when I ask for basic info...
