  1. Well, I'll make you feel a little bit better Mike. I finished up clearing the driveway and sidewalks a little while ago. Are you ready ....... 15.5 inches. Yea, we get more snow up here then you do, but 15.5 is still a LOT of snow. As I always say I love snow, once it melted, had salt and tropical fish added. Hope your back feels better, - Joe
  2. The original design of that part helps absorb vibrations from the steering. The solid unit you made will transmit a lot of vibration to the steering wheel. If you don't like the condition of the original get a replacement, you'll be a lot happier. Nice job making it, but use the original design. - Joe
  3. I relocated the battery behind the passenger seat on mine ('77 280Z). I used a Taylor battery box that is aluminum and seals tight. I mounted the box on the deck in front of the strut tower. I had to trim the sheet metal a bit to get it to fit. I ran the Positive battery cable down through the tool well and out the hole where the fuel pump leads are. I drilled a hole in to trans tunnel and ran the cable through a 90 degree piece of PCV pipe so it is covered. I attached a flexible PVC connector on the bottom side of the trans tunnel then used 1/2 inch PVC to the starter. By doing it this way the positive cable runs under the car in the trans tunnel and is encased in 1/2 inch PVC. Hope that helps, - Joe
  4. That's great, thanks Aux. - Joe
  5. It's easier to put them in together. With the JTR setback the bolts are close to the firewall. Also, the trans is the rear support for the engine. - Joe
  6. From page 2-1 of the JTR Manual (Seventh Revision) "Use Chevrolet part no 3990332. These came on 1965-1972 Chevrolet trucks." If you don't have the JTR manual, get one before you do any more work on the conversion. - Joe
  7. Looks great Vinh. Sorry I couldn't get over to see you today, from the pictures it looks like the heater is working well (if you're showing your toes when it's below 30, the heater must be good). - Joe
  8. You may want to check out the Megasquirt info for the ECU. If I ever have to change the ECU I'd go with the Megasquirt, I may even put it on the Jag V12 I've got. Check out the Megasquirt forum for more info. It might simplify your wiring task. - Joe
  9. Chaparral2f, Sent you a PM about the parts. - Joe
  10. How about: HybridZ - Where Dreams Become Reality I like "While I'm At it.....", but I've suffered from that far too long ...... - Joe
  11. Thanks for the link, looks like an interesting site. - Joe
  12. You can get a size checker just about any place. Another way is to go to True Value or Lowes and buy one of every metric bolt and nut they have. Organize them so you'll be able to tell the size and use those as a size checker. That actually works well. They have a sizing chart hanging in the hardware area of Lowes that should give you a good idea, it has nuts and bolts so you can figure out what size you need. Saves a lot of frustration. - Joe
  13. Nice car. Looks like the offspring if a Ferrari 250 GTO mated with a Z. Classic lines and Chevy power, what more could we ask for ....... well, maybe the Bugatti. - Joe
  14. I posted this link under the Stolen Trailer thread, but I figured it deserved it's own thread. I like the idea behind this device, nice and simple. I suspect I'll end up with a few in the not too distant future. It works by letting all the air out of the tire if the tire moves with the device in place. There was an article about it in the October 2005 issue of Street Rodder magazine. Here's a link: Tire Deflator Hope this prevents any more stolen alerts. - Joe
  15. I found the article, it's in the October 2005 issue of Street Rodder magazine. The device is call Tire Deflators. Here's a link to the website Tire Deflator

As stated above, run both Ad-Aware and Spybot. They are free programs and work well. Also, if running XP you may need to turn off Systems Restore (Control Panel, System, Systems Restore). You can get both programs at Download.com. Run the updates once a week then run a scan with both. - Joe
  17. I read about some devices you screw on the valve stem, if the wheel turns it opens the valve and lets all the air out. It got a good review. I think it was in popular Mechanics. I'll try and find it. Hard to pull a trailer with flat tires. If I find your trailer and the thieves you may have to hose the trailer out after it's return, if that's OK. - Joe
  18. Mike has high security clearance, and a lot of security experience. He has no need of of a wheel barrow or a packsack. His payments are directly deposited in his Numbered Swiss Bank Account, then automatically transfered to his off-shore account in the Caymen Islands. From there it wanders through a few South American countries until it ends up in the Corvette and Z parts accounts. Somehow money appears in Donna's account, but we're not sure how he does that yet. That's why he's in such demand and so well paid, all the Black Budget people are requesting his services. I heard two CIA agents broke down and cried while attempting to unravel Mike skills, the rest just kept saying "We're not worthy, We're not worthy......." Oh, I mounted my cut off switch on the side of the battery case so I could reach it from the drivers seat (I moved the battery to behind the passenger seat). I figured I could add a long bar or cable to the rear for an external control if i ever need it. - Joe
  19. Man, that had to hurt, I don't think he could have found a worse spot for the tree to push in. - Joe
  20. Also make sure the exhaust is clear. A plugged muffler or pipe could cause the cat to get red. - Joe
  21. I ALWAYS check the shipping price before I bid on anything. There are sellers who use the shipping fee to make money, while others charge a reasonable rate. Be sure to read the shipping info before bidding. If they don't list shipping rates I email them for the shipping cost prior to bidding. It's one of the things you need to watch out for on Ebay. - JOe
  22. It looks like a segment from the show Brainiac. Great video. - Joe
