  1. dig280Z just scored another "almost freebie" Begging works in this case! Hey, does anyone have a set of Panasports laying around that you won't be using?
  2. We've got an Eastwood bead roller that is crank driven. It's best used with a helper to either turn the crank or move the metal, but it works great! We also have their big sheet metal brake and another manufacturers tubing bender and another's rotisserie. I don't play with these tools too often, but they are going to come in handy when I finish stripping my 240Z shell and start replacing the floor pans. I plan on using ZedFindings pans but might add some extra rolls.
  3. I don't know about your state, but in Georgia, for a car that old only a bill of sale is required. Check your requirements. A replacement title should be easy. I'd but it if it were me!
  4. All the girls love a man with a HUGE INJECTOR!
  5. I paid $250 for the complete donor car. A '83 280ZXT that I called "Rusty Bucket", from her I took complete engine, electrical harness, computer, t-tops, R-200, CV axles, tail lights, marker lights. So, I think I have negative $50 in the R200. What I need is a 280Z Mustache bar
  6. Use some of your magnets and reed switches for this: http://autospeed.com/A_107975/cms/article.html An easy DIY!
  7. http://www.painlessperformance.com/Manuals/80180Instruction.pdf Here is a link to the actual parts. http://www.painlessperformance.com/webcatalog/catviewsearch.php?SearchField=80180 Very cool and clean install! If you don't mind cutting holes or enlarging, check your local JY for modern pin switches from late model cars. Most have rubber seals that would work with some modifications to the existing pin location.
  8. ...but cleaner. It will fit. Depending on how you want it to fit. If you space it away from your radiator support a few inches the pipes almost line-up. It is too tall to fit inside the recess of the radiator support without cutting the bottom tube row off and shortening the side tanks. My plan is to mock it up and see if my fabricator (my brother) wants to cut it so that it fits tightly inside the radiator support and adjust the in and out pipes to line up by adding and cutting pipe thru the fresh air duct holes in the rad. support. If he is unwilling to cut it or does not have the time, I'll probably sell it and go the same route as 240Hoke and use a Treadstone style available on eBay. I just PM'd Austin about his intercooler a few days ago and he sent me here: http://www.siliconeintakes.com/product_info.php?cPath=7&products_id=208&osCsid=5c934bf61c1fc72e83b839668f599da0 I'll wait and see before I spend any $ on another intercooler. I am almost sure the NPR will work for me. Anyone else got an NPR? What did you do to make it fit. Pictures would be helpful.
  9. I could not find a link to post in Donor cars. If admin could move this there for me. Thanks This person really needs to get rid of this car. http://atlanta.craigslist.org/pts/524507354.html He emailed me that he would sell it for $175 with engine if someone would come get it ASAP. "Hi lee the hood is dented and a small dent on driver fender but is very useable get it this afternoon for 175 need to go.770-778-9755" Bobby It might be a good donor and could be parted and sold for a profit. I'd buy it, but the wife would have a fit!!!!
  10. My mother-in-law lives near Orlando and in the summer she says "It's hotter than the hinges of hell!"
  11. I HATE the way dealers used to install the aftermarket A/C on these cars. I'm removing mine in the restoration and have 3 crude holes to fill in the firewall. Yours prospect looks like they went thru the fenders. This would allow water to enter the cabin as it was splashed off the tires. About this car. What is the frame/floorpan like? With the holes in the inner fenders, I'm guessing rotted. If you can see the ground, offer $700 and leave the guy with the louvers (or sell them on Classic). For $700 you would have a good buy. I paid $500 for mine: pretty tight '73 with some minor collision damage and some rust in floorboards ahead of seat mounts, real strong 2.4 (swapping for Turbo soon), 5-spd, Recaros and Turbo wheels. Good examples are still out there. You just have to find them. Do you have a local Z Car club? You might ask some members about sourcing a clean car.
  12. I got a spot I just can't reach. Can I borrow that thing?
  13. Hey, I had to ask! After some PM's with Jon, I have to agree with him, John and Paul. Money better spent elsewhere. But, thanks CA for raising the question.
  14. Ummmm Primer Grey! Q: Why does it say GOAT on what might be the inside of your garage door. Mine just says "DOOR"
  15. The first 29 sec. of your latest vid kinda freaked me out man! Now your z kinda sounds like the UPS truck coming down the street... just kidding it sounds great. You also made me chuckle when you were tapping the tape measure on your pipes! Tinka-tinka-tinka! Then, it got ugly again and I just puked a little in my throat when I saw your old downpipe! Yeech! But Phil, I say... I want some "Tire Spinnin' Fun"!:burnout: Thanks again Big Phil for some great You Tube time!
  16. I wonder what Jon thinks about the Modern Motorsports parts http://www.modern-motorsports.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=68 Jon, your ideas?
  17. Vintage Recaro seats look great and fit. I have a pair of 320i BMW of a 80's patina that I picked up for $200 reuhpolstered! Recaro even sells mounts for the tab-style sliders for the 240-280Z.
  18. Listen, since you'll be need some place to store that turbo until you get your car. I have a spot under my hood next to the left fender. I promise to take care of it and you can have it back when you are ready for it.
  19. I've seen worse but I have to add that either you can find a better car and start there or contact someone in AZ and get a good tub. Craigs list can help your search. In Atlanta, I quickly searched Datsun and found: http://atlanta.craigslist.org/car/541520033.html (ZX at Eddie's) http://atlanta.craigslist.org/car/523154529.html (2 Cars) http://atlanta.craigslist.org/car/516435676.html http://atlanta.craigslist.org/car/517255453.html (ZX) http://atlanta.craigslist.org/car/522811083.html (Antique automobile!) Bring a trailer! There were a lot more S30, but they must have sold in the last couple of days or been removed. Anyhoo, good luck!
  20. http://www.coloradocyclist.com/ Search their online store. I have Fizik saddles on all 3 of my bikes. If you've been off the bike for a while, no saddle will be comfortable until you rebuild those "sit callouses". Make sure you also have some good cycling shorts and you get a good bike fit by a professional. http://www.titusti.com/08/mtn/rxti.php
  21. Drop the tank from the bottom and don't cut no metal. Put the blowtorch down. NOW
  22. :biggrin:I'd say just leave it the way it is. It would be fun to drive down the road and see just how many mail boxes you could take out.
  23. I'm planning a swap to '72 front bumpers and brackets on my '73. I plan to either source some very clean pre '73 rear bumpers or just clean up the ones I have.
