  1. so ugh.... does anybody have a complete car done in rustoleum wet sanded and buffed yet? I'm curious as to how long it stays dark and shiney.
  2. I was thinking about this today... a company called MVP makes a bellhousing adapter for the KA24de motor to use the 6spd SR transmission. Which means it should bolt up to the L24/L28 the same way. But finding a 6spd SR tranny isn't exactly easy either.
  3. you know... alot of guys in the 240sx community would probably buy some of these for their S13's also... AE86 guys would love them. Hit up the drift world.... light cheap wide wheel... they'll love it.
  4. we found the reason for not starting... one of the cylinders we compression checked didn't even read 10lbs. I'm gonna tear down the front again and make sure the belt didn't jump. This car is a huge piece of crap.
  5. bump... We got the spark back but still not starting... we are checking fuel pressure tonight and to see if the injectors are opening or not. Please help me get rid of this car! -Ed
  6. My buddy and I have been working on this 1991 Dodge Spirit for a friend of a friend. Basically refreshed the top end of the motor, all the seals, belts, etc. Well we couldn't get the motor to start... fiddled with it yesterday for 4 hrs, then again today. The crank pulley has two notches in it, one is highlighted white, so I assumed that was the timing mark for TDC. Bad assumption, so today i retime the dizzy for the other mark... bam we start to get the motor to run. Finally motor starts up, i'm checking timing to get it tweaked in, really rough stumbly etc. I see the timing mark finally with the light... then the motor stalls out, crank it up but no fire. All of the sudden it randomly lost spark? So we check the voltage at batter 12.5v 12.25 at the coil 8.9v while cranking at coil. The coil has been replaced brand new. I'm not a domestic guy, I know Nissan igntion and porsche. The motor is the V6 so it's actually a mitsubishi motor 6g72 i believe. complete EFI not TB injection. We have no spark off the high tension wire. I was thinking maybe dizzy pickups, but i'm not sure if those are replaceable on this dizzy. -Ed
  7. This was my impression as well. I'm interested to find out the answer. Where do you buy your welding supplies?
  8. Yeah rubber seals own us when it comes to 2+2's it's cheaper to get some rubber and make them yourself.
  9. at that price your in another ball game. now competing with haltech and such.
  10. just saw this thread. Here are some pics of my 2+2 http://www.cardomain.com/ride/777368 LOTS of work done. -Ed
  11. supposedly on that porsche board... The guy tested it out to 30,000rpm and it was accurate and reliable. I guess it's worth a try lol.
  12. so with the dividing chips it should be ok? as that would bring it down to 66-1 or 44-1
  13. looks very cool, I've been contemplating one of those myself.
  14. I've asked before about support of 132 teeth and was told it's too much for the processor... well I found this over on rennlist..... I got the engine started and running last week (or maybe two weeks ago). It sounds awesome. I'm going to try and get some more pictures and videos tomorrow. dated back in 2005... so did this code flop? his link is dead. Source... http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/showthread.php?t=222201&page=10&pp=15 look mid page 10. They also talk about divide by N chips lowering the signals. So from a 132 flywheel to a 44 or 66. It's also mentioned on the rennlist board. -Ed
  15. Don't want to thread jack but i have a question about driveshaft angles as well. I'm swapping in a 240sx rear end in to my Z. As stated the Z is offset by about an inch... well the 240sx rear end is perfectly centered. So is it ok to square up the rear end with the car and just run the driveshaft slightly angled to the diff? -Ed
  16. those are S13 SE wheels they should fit but you won't be able to run a big tire. BTW.... KA in your Z? are you going KA-T?
  17. I say go for it. It'll be a heck of alot cheaper than the Porsche motor, just make sure you can use your tranny.
  18. You might be able to use the palm megatune code, it should showe the display like your looking for.
  19. maybe you shouldn't go with a kit at all? take off the bumper, clean up the body lines, shave some things here and there, maybe swap on a 240 front air dam...? Kind of a conservative look?
  20. Well... after the Z sitting for almost a year. I rewired with HEI 8pin to run fuel and ignition. Modified my dizzy, redid all the wiring. Today i threw in some numbers just to see if she would start and BAM!!! crank crank vrooom. I was shocked to say the least. She started right up! I have some tweaking to do as she won't idle very well but i'm just really excited i have my baby back! -Ed
  21. that manifold pictured is actually an S15 intake. We are making S13 SR intakes on our first run, although we have a high demand for KA manifolds, we might do a mixed run. I don't have any pricing on the L6 manifold because i don't have the specs finalized yet. I haven't really heard anything negative from what i posted... so I guess i'll design the L6 manifold after the stock one, copy the runner angles, probably shorten up the runners a bit. I know how alot of you Z guys are and i'm trying to get the price of this manifold down. I was going to plan on offering it to you guys without the TB flange drilled or tap. Thus you would get the manifold a little cheaper and you can use any TB you want. Our TB's are an all aluminium construction that easily compare with 200-250 dollar throttle bodies on the market. We offer them in ANY size from 65mm-105mm. The standard finish on this manifold is the nice shiney polished look you see. That wasn't special done just for pictures, that's how all of them are going to look. We will also be offering coatings for them to keep that nice shiney look. I'm happy to see there is a decent interest in the manifolds. I'll try to get some pricing to you guys soon. -Ed
  22. We are working on rb25 and rb26 manifolds. We haven't done the prototype yet as i wanted to see what kind of specs you guys wanted from it. What kind of injector bungs you guys wanted, vacumn ports, runner length etc. I'll get to work on coming up with specs. the TB is the same bolt pattern as a toyota supra, I'll measure it tonight. -Ed
  23. The bolt spacing on TB i can get you the specs probably tomorrow... the manifold is not at my house right now. The pricing we are still working with as I want this to be competitive with the other manifolds on the market. I can only say for sure under 800 at this time. Injectors... we can do whatever you want TB from 65-105mm The only test car I have is mine and possible one other local Houston Z car. -Ed Edit... i forgot to mention the runners are conical shaped not just straight.
