  1. which pick n pull was that car in? I might take some parts for my 78 >_>
  2. It shouldn't matter. A turbo car and an N/A car should hit better numbers the lower the altitude. Lower altitude=higher air density. more air into the engine=more power. N/A or Turbo, they'll both make better numbers at lower alt. than higher. From what our little weather meter said that my dad got back in teh days of him running his bug out here in Phoenix, lower temps+drier air=faster times.
  3. there you go. if you want the whole episode (btw...it's all mirrored)
  4. how is this a bad idea? You want a Ferrari, but don't want to deal with the bs of the high dollar engine crapping on you. So, you buy a Ferrari, minus its engine, and add in a reliable, powerful, engine of your choice. So what you get is, a tire burning Ferrari that you don't have to worry about taking out a second mortgage if the engine decides to break down again.
  5. you wanna know the damage? go to 0:07 and watch one of its unlucky wheels go free and bounce away it lost the right rear tire when it landed go to 7:50 here
  6. judging from the pictures of your sparkplugs, it looks like the fronts weren't even igniting at all. I hardly see any sign that fuel was being burnt. and they're all shiny and wet. The rears seem ok though.
  7. The 77 and 78 though, are turned on by the oil pressure sensor. In that case turn the key to on and unplug the oil pressure sensor, and the pump should kick in. (77/78 is an odd year electrically from any of the others, so you can't go by the older 280's for help)
  8. I would hate to haev the job of destroying those cars. I would be SCREAMING "MURDER!!!" every time i saw one get crushed
  9. I know my Z gets roughly 18mpg with spirited city driving, but cruising on the freeways at 65 it'll get something like 24-25 if i remember right. that's with and without the bumpers as well.
  10. I thought those were a 77/78 option only I wish i could take those off your hand cause mine are pretty beat up. But i figure i might as well keep mine cause i'm giong to go with a set of diamond wheel racing rims and not keep the stockers (they are nice stockers though, just a bit too narrow)
  11. I can't imagine that taking off the bumper will net a 2-3mpg increase. Not with the aero the Z has. The Z isn't weight limited, it's brick wall limited.
  12. He's in Phoenix, Oregon. as in the city of phoenix in oregon i assume XD (yes, it exists, i checked)
  13. I remember my dad telling me that was a fix chevy did to the 66 impalas to keep them from breaking engine mounts or something of that nature. Basically just chain the engine to the frame so it couldn't twist so much.
  14. I take it you didn't see their lovely quad exhaust setup did you
  15. He's going to make a remote "sensor bar" for his nintendo Wii is what i'm guessing. iirc those things have 5 ir leds in them too
  16. I heard about a full 240z being in a junkyard over at the Pick a Part over on broadway out here. I haven't gotten a chance to go and take a look though. Any idea what rims it had? size, etc? i might just have to go out there myself and strip a few things if i can find any. Why the hell is it out there o_O
  17. now he's beating the truck! looks like that truck is your only competition at this point
  18. one is fiberglass one is urethane. pretty self explanatory
  19. I love this. I think i'll have to trim it and sig it
  20. Actually, out of anyone on this forum i'd trust what tony D says. There's a reason why we call him Wiki. Man knows his ♥♥♥♥.
  21. super bright leds is awesome. I bought a bunch of LED replacement bulbs for my car. they're blue, a bit brighter than the stock ones, but not by much, and fit in like a charm. (i need to take out the filters from the gauges, that's what's making them so dark right now) they're pretty easy to deal with and get stuff shipped pretty quick.
  22. he's actually got a point with this one. it IS just drain cleaner, but it's probably WAY too strong. play it safe though, and neutralize it with acid before you do anything. Caustic soda is nasty stuff.
  23. That's definitely from a 280zx transmission. if you want, the later 280z shifters DO FIT and shorten the throw a little as well! http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/shifterbushing/index.html
  24. there is no more geocities, so every geocities site is now gone i guess
