  1. i used redline. poured in the whole bottle. idled at the car wash (about 4 gallons after i put it in) it cleaned a clogged injector. it went from choppy bumbled to smooth and clean, as in a clkogged injector began to fire. and of course I show off... why drive a 2 seater sports car... I figured i'd say the best injector stuff Iv found, I have tried many brands. That car I think I ran... well many different kinds, that stuff actually worked, I just figured i'd have to get a set of injectors, then low and behold.... that stuff cleaned er up... And I suck at grammar so what... skip my run ons next time, save yourself the trouble
  2. a blow off valve can be bought for 35$ for an ok one, but to get the same thing with a name brand$$$$ 5times that and does the same thing, and you won't blow your motor if it fails, as to if a wastegate fails.... there goes the motr, if peices go through the turbo too!!! if you run a cat, there that goes... so i agree chinese bov, japanese wastegate.. lol....
  3. I did a pretty simple set up on my 87 300zx.... similar to an evo just single, and no meshing... it actually made it feel "nibbley" or "jittery" in a good way, like tighter to the ground.... i think there was an inprovement, but i did a huge power upgrade... like ported polished heads, bigger turbo, meth injection.. liquid intercooler, and other stuff... but the handling was also noticable, so I like to think there must have been an improvement in areo, leading to increased acceleration and the handling...
  4. best injector cleaner I ever used was by that "redline" same maker of water wetter, also an amazing product.. but i had an 86 300zx na, ran pretty ruff, as in on 5 cylinders, but i was idleing at a car wash (washing my car)... when a large group of the local import owners showed up... they gave me a little prevocation( come on burn em whheeewww, that sorta thing) well I noticed it was idling smooth as silk... hmmmm lets see... so as I pull out, I slam the clutch down(clutch punch so to speak... I might be the only person who does it...) in second gear, while holding it to the floor and it revved sooo nicely, lit em up from one side to the other! almost went all the way around, but I stayed on my side of the road, a good 50+ foot burn out (easily 50 feet, easily)the car was never the same after that day, litterally the best running na nissan motor I ever did see, ran like a top..... had to give my personal experience as to why I love the $h!t outta that stuff..... if that isn't proof of it working, oh and a bottle can be used as 12 seperate tanks.... but can be used in concentration, i was scared at first after I added it and saw the things on the side to show how much to add.... but I was happy with the end results!!!!!!! okay I just searched for it, there are apearently 2 types, its the pinkish one, not the SI-1...... just had to clear it up
  5. the sensor that is, the pump would be way more work, but a simple bracket to mount the sensor would be very simple also my 280zx turbo 1981 that came with the factory crank angle, on the crankshaft, and it had power steering, I forgot about that before
  6. you could custom mount, and relocate it.....
  7. theresa guy with a 82 83 harness listed for 70 shipped.. With that you'd just habe to lengthen the harness a short bit.. (solder the wire on, and good as new....)
  8. looks like we have a good build going on here... hopefully the motor is up to snuff!!!! i'm in the process of reringing an 81 turbo motor for my 77... I'm gonna use a 300zx ecu for now.... bigger turbo ported head etc..... but wanted to say you seem to be doing a nice job, that other motor, if you get all the other head bolts off... you may be able to slap some vise grips on it if theres a nub after you got the head off..... at any rate nice build....
  9. Why would you have to give up power steering ? no no no.... electronic distributorless ignition has nothing to do with the power steering! you can run the factory dizzy, through megasquirt and still run edis!!!!!
  10. oh and the dizzy can be from a maxima, and I belive the pathfinder would also work, if you do grind it take your time, i used 2 1-16 discs on top of each other, might have been 1-32 I can't remember, just slide it into the slot on the original dizzy, make sure it is a little sloppy. once you hav eit pretty close use only the single disc and slowly remove material, checking after grinding only SMAL amounts, as you don't want any slop if you can prevent it...
  11. just so you know. to use the turbo dizzy you will need the shaft also. i can say smokin geez on ebay(the ad that claims will list any part) will have one availible, tell him I sent you took him a while to find one, and will need 90 for it... (the pair that is) also what I did was modify the 300ZX dizzy and it wasn't that hard, removed the cog, and machined an offset slot... personally i used a grinder 1-16 inch thick..... you have to make sure the offset is aligned properly.... then use the slip off the original dizzy bingo.... also better would be to get a wheel from diy autotune and get the sensor... then your fire from the crankshaft and would be simplest way to do it, in my opinion. but, at any rate, good luck
  12. yes, so I can fabricate a turbo manifold... thanks for helping to clear that up...
  13. I'm looking for an exhaust flange to an l28 (p90) they used to be around.. was wondering if anyone had one, or 2 if the price is right .... perhaps someone knows where to point me???
  14. i have the harness, I aslo have the afm, which I believe its the same as 82-83, I also have the ecu to.. but the afm, is very questionable.. would need at very least a full super deep cleaning..... i never saw it work, and it is in ruff shape... in short I have a harness, questionable afm, both from 81.... make me an offer.... worst I can do is say no.... keep in mind shipping will cost a few more than most I am in ny... also have you looked into a regular turbo harness? I know that the clips for the dizzy and cas are the same, but I think the 81 has a longer wire pigtail.. something for you to look into...... but good luck!
  15. I think you could piece it together for less money, and get better turbo's at that.... i imagine for an extra 200 you would have the complete kit, with a blow through carb, or better yet for the same price you would have the injectors if your fuel injected... but thats just my 2 cents....... but to save from several hours of searching.. its in the bag... lol... but really take the time, search out the same products(or the more acceptable one to suit your application, and save the extra $$$$ or spend it on better turbos!!!!!!
  16. so now its 6billion and 3 years old, i wonder if its made it onto the endangered list, obahma get yo @$$ in check, but wait, if there is an r200 in there, we all need to take our motors apart, maybe its actually a entire car... I remember a book when I was a kid about a mouse on a motorcycle!!!!!!! maybe he was into z's as well!!!!
  17. come on guys, its project time, who all is awaiting this tubular turbo manifold!!!!!!!!!
  18. saying it only needs a buffing! thats about the cruelest thing I ever heard... the least he needs is buffing, he's gonna bare minimum need a 2200 sanding first... But most of all glad you and your son are ok!!!!!
  19. you won't smell gas, or blow by if you block off the hoses, and install a catch can..... just a thought.. I saw the "smell of gas" and was like woaw.... that sounds like you made a fire hazard! lol.... go to a parts store and buy a vaccumm block off kit and block those hoses....
  20. you gotta get that fuse out BEFORE it blows.. if you don't it will probably burn it up... use that and other rare artifacts to resurect the sacrid Z!!!!!
  21. no, top seceret.. lol. no just wondering, actually throwing around the idea of a 300zx z31 with non turbo 5 speed trans swap... but, didn't want to list that, because if I don't do it (because I also might do a turbo l28) i don't wanna be a i said i was gonna but didn't... but i think a vg30et with some work would be agood swap..
  22. Hello, I am wondering what the size of the slip yoke, of a nonturbo z31, would be, as in spline, and inner/outer diameter.. thanking you in advnace
  23. Ok, heres what I'm looking for. What is the size of the slip "Yoke" of the driveshaft of a 5 speed 280z... hope some one can point me in the right direction, or have the information... thanking you in advance
  24. heck I just paid 500 for a 77 2+2, that need a rear main seal, and some surface rust removed, and paint.... I think i got a good deal (theyre GGGGRREEEEEEAT) lol
