  1. If you go to my site there are bigger pics on the "Gauges" page. Guy
  2. As with any car its going to depend a lot on the milage, rust or no rust, interior condition, etc. Its too hard to say with out some specifics. Like RCNSC said the drivetrain is pretty much identical. There might be some more smog equipment on a ZX but Im not sure... Guy
  3. Well when I first installed the autometer gauges in my car I just cut the holes and dropped them in. Then a few months ago I went crazy with the bedliner spray and covered the front of the main cluster with it.....yeah in my head I thought it would look pretty cool but once it was done I realized real quick that it looked like crap! So this weekend I decieded to take care of that! I took out the main cluster to rewire it and make it pretty! I bought 2 6-way connectors at Fleet Farm and wired up the main cluster so that I could pull it out as a whole unit rather than have to fight it with all those wires hanging all over! Then I covered the front of the panel with foam and a leather like material(it might even be leather? I didnt ask when I bought it! LOL). Here are the results......... Guy 8)
  4. How did you get a header in on the dirvers side? You have rack and pinion right? I know its close to impossible with a SBC unless you make your own or modify a set. Nice install none the less! 8) Guy
  5. The 280Z is still a Gen 1 car where as the 280ZX is a Gen 2 car. The 280Z and 280ZX are pretty close in weight but the 280ZX is still a little heavier. The extra weight is due to the cars more luxury items and the body was strengthed up due to federal laws at the time requiring strong cars for crash purposes. The 280ZX is a nicer ride than the 280Z because when the 280ZX came out they were trying to please the public with a "sporty" more "comfy" daily driver car rather than the cheap(I mean cheap as in low cost not cheap as in crappy) sports car like the 240Z's. What kind of info are you looking for? Guy
  6. As with any fiberglass parts you get there is always some custom fitting involved. Just do what "zeeboost" did and sand it down until it just clears the hood. Guy
  7. Well this probably isnt much help now but.....yes you do have all the correct lines. Guy
  8. Wow those almost look like they might fit on the 280ZX's with the big steering gear box set ups.... Which would make sense now because I built my own header! Guy
  9. I feel sorry for the guys competing against you in your class! They dont stand a chance! 8) Guy
  10. I need a 350Z that looks like that drag car 350Z.......and the 1500HP! Guy
  11. Terry, I think I've told you this before but when I win the lottery Im going to pay you whatever you want to build me a one of a kind car! 8) :hail: :hail: Guy
  12. Very nice gauge panel Chaparral2f! 8) I think installing the 5" gauges in the Gen 1 Z's are a lot easier because you dont have to hack up the dash like you do with a 280ZX or 300ZX. Guy
  13. At the end of the day your still driving a Saturn! Guy
  14. What I have leared about brakes is to make sure if your going to have teh system opened up to be sure you can get the parts you need to fix it if you brake the bleeder off. What works really good is to use one those mini torches(hand held and operates on butane cost is about $20+ fuel) and a hammer. First heat up the area around the bleeder, not the bleeder itself. Then tap on it with the heated area with a hammer and try turning the bleeder at the same time. It works most of the time but if you havent had the bleeder loose in years like most of these cars, sometimes your just S.O.L.! and your going to break it off no matter what. I dont recommend a regular size torch because it gets the area too hot and I have seen guys explode brake hoses from too much heat in the system which causes the fluid to expand and BOOM! Guy
  15. Yeah installing the 3 center gauges is a pretty straight forward but the speedo and tach are another story. Are you going to install those too? Guy
  16. Hey do you have any more info on that show in Waupaca? Like is there a work in progress class Guy
  17. Man I wish I could have came but I've been out of town since Friday. Nice job with the runner-up award! Did you get a trophy? Guy
  18. Wether she likes the dave mathews band or not you would have to be a real moron to put that on your plate and not expect everyone to think "Dumb Girl" not "Dave Mathews Band Girl" Guy
  19. HAHAHAAHA... the seller did say it had a knock. Some peopel just have stuff like this coming. Why would you buy a car that had a knock and then get mad when you drain the "oil" and see this? Guy[/img]
  20. Wow that really sucks for that guy that got screwed by "All Mustang Performance". It deffinetly was a good idea to call the police! Guy
  21. Personally I like the TV thats in the dash and the wood thats showing under the passenger side of the dash! Oh and this project is "90%" finished! Righhhhhht looks more like 10% finished 90% to go! Guy
  22. I did the resistors for mine. This mod is just temporary for me. Once I get a new clutch set up in I will reinstall the harness ends back on and connect the sensors. Just as long as it doesnt retart my timing any. I did the resistors for mine. Guy
  23. Correct me if I am wrong but the only reason you would have 5 reverse gears is if you dont turn your differental around. Essentially you are just turning the input shaft the other way which is turn the driver shaft the other way which is turning your diff in reverse. I dont think it matters which way the inputshaft spins just as long as your diff is turned in the right direction. Guy
  24. I dont know for sure but I have never heard of anyone reusing a headgasket. I think once they have been compressed they are useless once removed though, atleast thats how everyother headgasket that I know fo is. Guy
