  1. Shouldn't over rich be running cooler than normal? I was under the impression that as you leaned a mix out it would get hotter and hotter (to a certain point though, obviously lean it out enough and it'll start cooling down again).
  2. Nice, sounds like old Zs are making a comeback. First they make it into the new FandF movie, now a video game (and all of them are HBZers )
  3. Send a PM to 280Zforce about the Gnose kit, he might be able to hook you up.
  4. If I wasn't going to be knee deep in my senior thesis by then, I'd make the drive down. Good luck with that dude.
  5. So...you want help, but don't want to post pics?
  6. Damn. Don't suppose either of the two prong flashers on this page would fit: http://superbrightleds.com/flashers.htm
  7. So, bumping this thread since I'm finally looking to do this mod. I was browsing the super bright LED website for an electronic flasher unit, and was wondering if anyone had a wiring diagram for the flasher unit handy. unit CF13JL-02 here: http://superbrightleds.com/flashers.htm seems like it would work (if I remember what my flasher unit prongs looked like), but I don't know if the wiring is correct for it. Anyone know for sure? picture for those that don't fee like going to the other site: L=Load B=12V IN E=Ground actual measurements of the electronic unit:
  8. Only thing that makes mine really unique is my plans for it
  9. I'll certainly be interested in getting one of these down the road. If it's possible for you to get this info, how far does this relocator make it from the shifter to the front of the bell housing?
  10. Does anybody happen to know (or have a way to easily check) what the distance is from the front of the bell housing to the opening for the shift lever? I'm number crunching for a future hybrid setup, and this is one of the few number I don't have. Thanks.
  11. Wait, are you serious?....curse you for throwing a wrench into my V8 plans... And you're ninja edit is no match for me
  12. jeebus. Gotta love though that a 30+ year old L series can output a whp/L number as good or better than modern cars. Even with all the "problems" of SOHC and non crossflow.
  13. 100 dollar shell + 200 dollar PnP engine = win *shrugs* If you could get a running pathfinder for less than a grand, why not?
  14. I'm 21, bought the car a few months after I turned 20. For me I had always wanted a real sports car as *my* first car, since I enjoy driving. At first I was looking at 951s, realized that CA smog laws wouldn't let me do what I wanted to them, so I started looking earlier. That pretty much meant that Z cars were my only option (oh, the trauma, I know ). I asked around for a good shop to get them checked out at prior to buying one (here, I think, actually), got pointed at Z Car Garage, saw that they had a classified section, then spent every moment I could towards getting the money for the Z that I currently have No AC, no power ANYTHING, doesn't like to start int he cold, limited trunk space (though more than most people would think), and a stiff ride, but I've never regretted buying it
  15. I don't remember if it was just a head or a complete engine, but it was a twin cam setup designed for the four banger L series in the 510. *checks wikipedia* Yah, that would also correspond to the group racing that is mentioned: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_L_engine#LZ Basically, think head designed for racing and some absurd power numbers for the displacement (usually by boosting or revving past rotary territory) Don't get me wrong, if they are in good condition it would be awesome to have them, but these aren't the OSG heads that it seems everybody and their mother wants.
  16. How do you know is a OSG head and not one of those LZ heads? (though either would be awesome to have)
  17. Don't know the seller, but it seems like a good deal, especially since there isn't a reserve. Anybody figure out the manual transmission issue yet? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Infiniti-FX45-VK45DE-VK45-V8-2004-2005-2006-NR_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a570Q7c66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a12Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1318Q7c301Q3a1Q7c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem190286705104QQitemZ190286705104QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
  18. There's a thread somewhere around here with the LSx weight info in it, don't have it bookmarked. I think 'definitive weight thread' or something similar was the title. info I have on a KA says 368lbs, but I don't know if that is with or without a tranny (I'm guessing without...)
  19. Might as well get this then: http://www.kameariusa.com/L6_l3_2_85mm_crankshaft.php
  20. Is it? Good to know, but how can I figure out if/when it'll be available where I am?
  21. So this thread has convinced me to do a VQ swap when I have the money for it I saw earlier that the front was riding a tiny bit taller, did you just leave the suspension as is or change anything to get it riding a tiny bit lower?
  22. Where would that be mounted on a ITB setup? I'm guessing with a single throttle body you could basically mount it anywhere in the intake tract, but with ITBs there doesn't seem to be much room to do that...
