  1. I'm sure these questions are answered somewhere on the MS site, but unfortunately I don't have the time to read through all of it since I'm in the middle of writing a senior thesis. The biggest question that I have is how people run MS (or if they even do) with an ITB setup, as there aren't any airflow sensors on the car. Also, how long does it generally take to get your tune to the point that you can DD it without worry (maybe not the best tune, but one that's good enough)? Last, how many people here use MS to handle ignition as well as injection? Thanks guys.
  2. Damn man, sucks to hear about that. Hopefully everything gets sorted out and he gets to stay with you (since that's what HE wants). How old is he? Mid teens?
  3. Yah. There's an online campaign starting up in a week, but my joystick died on me, so I won't be able to go intercepting heavies
  4. Yah, that's always fun. When I'm feeling bored I'll fly some early war plane with just a pair of pop guns and just circle the enemy airfield at ~200m, and just shoot up people on takeoff...until someone comes by with a late war 109 or Lavochkin from another airfield to ruin my fun.
  5. No idea, but personally I don't like the idea of octane boosters or methanol or anything like that on a street car, since you never know when you're going to run out. Also, with the octane booster, you're never going to get a good tune, since the octane rating of the gas will keep changing with the proportions of booster and gas.
  6. 500whp? I'd say you for sure need to drop the CR down. Especially considering the sh*t that we call premium here.
  7. Ok, thanks. So I guess I won't worry so much about intakes that are advertised as for 240 or 260 heads then.
  8. I think the curse of the Devil Z isn't that it keeps crashing, but rather that nobody can seem to finish subbing it
  9. Oh man, so some of you guys also play IL2:46? If any of you guys fly on hyperlobby, my callsign there is the same as here.
  10. So, since I didn't see this answered earlier, but are the intake ports into the head the same across all of the Z car heads? (I'm wondering because of intake manifold possibilities).
  11. Actually, it wouldn't go very far at all in that case Those copper colored areas on the floats aren't for show, those are the radiators
  12. bore/stroke ratio I have a decent enough grasp on already I think (plus, with a Z unless you sleeved your cylinder bores, you couldn't even get to 1:1 anyways). Guess I'll read up on rod/stroke in lecture today if it's stuff that I've already learned
  13. That actually raises another thing I was wondering about: what is the big deal with rod/stroke ratios?
  14. I created this thread because there is already a fair bit of basic knowledge about which engine blocks to use for strokers, which crank to use (LD28), heads are decently well known, but I haven't seen any thread devoted to the discussion of con rods. So here are my questions: 1a) When building a stroker motor, which 'standard' (ie, L series originally) length conrod is the "best" one to use? L24? L28? One of the four cylinders? 1b) Or is there a non L series rod that people prefer? 2) What are people referring to when they talk about 8mm or 9mm L24 rods, and why does everyone want the 9mm ones? So some of the above are probably noob questions, but it's come up recently for me and I'd like to know. Thanks guys.
  15. Has anyone used that crankshaft on here? How does the weight compare to a normal LD28 crank?
  16. Any chance of a rehost on the dyno graph? (Or am I the only one that can't see it...)
  17. I've never done this, but it ALWAYS freaks me out that I might forget the cap. What I've taken to doing is just putting it in a front pocket of my shorts or jeans (or in the hand pocket on a hoodie), because there is no way in hell I could miss that when I sit down.
  18. You haven't been paying enough attention if you think anyone would ask why you needed that much power
  19. That's pretty damn cool. Probably the only car I've ever seen where the turbos were placed more or less above the engine. And what color blue is your Z? looks like mine probably would if it hadn't faded over the years.
  20. Sorry to bump an old (ish) thread, but could you explain why the tank would have to go inside the car? Isn't there a bunch of room on the passenger side of the engine?
