  1. Yasin, I'm a little late to this thread but I wanted to chime in none the less. You have done a beautiful job to say the least. I have not spent much time making my engine look as impressive so I know the effort it took. The best part it's not all show... I'm confident that with good gas you will be well over 400rwhp. My guess is that you will be limited by your turbo and/or injectors first. I can't wait to see you start flogging your car on the track.
  2. It's about time!!!! Looks great. All your upgrades should make a huge difference.
  3. Tony, are the new 720cc/min injectors that Jeff is using a low impedance peak/hold pintle style? See here for reference: http://sdsefi.com/injectors.htm
  4. Tim, Just curious, how's the Clutch Specialties sintered-iron clutch holding up? Mine has held well except for a few anomalies. Also, what head gasket did you go with since you had your head off? I'm assuming you are still using the Nissan sealing rings.
  5. Congrats Tim. I calculate 762bhp. Simply amazing... I sure would like to see what your car would do at Milan..
  6. No need to be sorry. :violin:I'm moved on and already planning my next upgrade. My goal is 500rwhp on pump gas. . I'm at 454rwhp on race gas now so what's another 50hp...? Actually it's a lot but you gotta have a goal. Now back to the topic... Someone should see if this header is still around. I like the design but am unsure if it would fit....
  7. I just need to modify the pipes so the turbo moves closer to the block. I'll also be changing the wastegate flange. If I'm taking the time, I may also redesign the header for use with a divided turbine housing. This coupled with a new, more efficient ball bearing turbo should improve my boost response (hopefully by 500rpm) and allow more peak HP.
  8. Thanks guys. It was a worthwhile effort. The header purchase is not a complete loss. It will just take more time and expense to make it perfect. That's b&%ch about this whole mess. The header was suppose to fit. I'm still unclear on what car my header was built for, certainly not a stock body S30 or S130. The inner fender clearance is way off. The only thing I can surmise is that it was built for a race car with no inner fenders and possibly a tube frame.
  9. Update: SSAC just responded. They have officially declined my offer to modify my turbo header for use as a template. My involvement with this project has also come to a close. I did my best to help the group and to ultimately help myself but it's all been for not. I will modify the header I purchased to perfectly fit my car but I'm not sure when or at what cost. I wish you all luck on getting this group buy up and going again.
  10. HBZ member "hughdogz" uses a PCV oil separating tank that would solve this. Take a look at the below picture of Hugh's engine. You can just see the hose going the the tank next to the master cylinder. Maybe he'll chime in and give us more details. BTW, Hugh's engine is even more beautiful in person then it looks in the picture.
  11. During a recent track day my turbo L28 would billow smoke after a HARD downshift and sharp left turn. The turn may have nothing to to with it. Strangely the smoke came out a few seconds after the downshift and happened to be while I was in the turn. If I downshifted to say a peak RPM of 4K there would be no smoke on the same turn. My engine is practically new and doesn't burn any oil or smoke at any other time. I attribute the smoke to high vacuum pulling oil from either the valve cover or the PCV.
  12. I just sent another email to SSAC requesting a reply to my email sent on 9/23. So far I've gotten no response. I basically requested they pay for all shipping them modify the header so it's suitable as a template. This would be in exchange for the $400.00 reimbursement. If this drags on much longer I will end up paying for my own mods on top of the $800.00 I've already spent. I'm regretting ever getting involved....bah!
  13. All I can say is it's take a bunch of horsepower and extra weight to overcome poor aerodynamics. The front end is literally shaped like a brick. Here are a couple of pictures I took of the car at Speed Week 2007. It was a little more shapely back then.
  14. :2thumbs:Cool! I noticed the on the second sheet that the ambient temp was 98.21F. That is seriously hot for a dyno pull. Your IC was working hard I bet. I also was impressed that the engine pulls so well up to 7K RPM. The curve is very broad for an L28. No wonder it does so well at the track. Is your cyl head ported or ??? I wonder what the dyno sheet will look like with lower ambient temps and a 12:1 mixture?
  15. I run Bridgestone RE750's. I have punished them on the dragstrip and on a track day. I couldn't ask for a better tire that can handle both dry and wet. Since the RE750 is not longer available I was thinking of trying the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup next.

  17. Is it just me that noticed this or does Megasquirt seem to have an inherent problem with EMI? I've read about several problem MS installations that exhibit similar symptoms. The recommendation is often "fix your EMI problem". Why don't other standalone EFI manufacturers have a similar issue? I don't mean to thread jack but the EMI issue comes up often.
  18. MAXIMUS, Did you ever get your CV Shaft issue handled? Just curious what solved the problem.
  19. Update: I sent an email to SSAC on 9/23 to inquire about having my header shipped then modified so it's suitable as a template. So far I have not gotten a response. I will post when I get a response with firm plans.
  20. I get chills every time I see a launch. Having two shuttles ready to launch is an incredible site. Let's just hope they don't have to use Endeavor. Thanks for sharing Rick.
  21. It's not dead. I should be able make some progress this week. I've not had time to work on the project for the past couple weeks.
  22. Wow... are you saying 22psi on 91, 92 or 93 octane pump gas? My car would break the ring lands from detonation. Are you using methanol or do you have a ceramic coating on your combustion chambers or pistons? Please tell me your secret.. I run BPR7ES at 15psi on the street and BR8ES's at 26psi on the track. I find that the 7's with the projected electrode start better cold and probably get a bit better mileage. Factory plugs are BPR6ES-11's. I highly recommend a resistor plug no matter what.
  23. Christmas is usually a happy time for couples... Happy birthday Rick.
  24. I'm also planning on a GT35R with the .63 turbine. Justin Olson recently turned me on to this new HTA GT35 option. It's worth a look. http://store.forcedperformance.net/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=FP&Product_Code=NTGT3582HTA
