  1. Those pants may be "stylin" but I wouldn't do much performance riding in them either.
  2. Yep, as much as I like NA for ease and cost, blower/turbo stuff is nice in that it helps retain bottom end streetability, just like having a big cube engine.
  3. Yep, push, which can be more easily tuned out with an oval track car or offset wheel bias. Not too much more work/money to just find an LSD, or I may go straight for C4 stuff.
  4. Tuner style? I think I know what you mean but I still cringe at calling them "tuners." Those are front wheel drive wheels, period, unless you ran a very, very narrow wheel you are going to either run deep dish wheels OR spacers. I would rather have a solid wheel minus spacers, either way discounted wheels are going to cost you ~$400, if you buy spacers add another $200-$240. If you want custom, expect $1600+ approximately, HRE way out of my league, $900 a wheel custom? ouch...
  5. Thats not 170 real horsepower either, bank on 150 HP at the crank, not 170 HP in a controlled test environment with nothing hooked up. Plus those are low compression pistons, not exactly NA friendly. The guy that pulled the F54 that I bought from him, got it for $90, with flat tops, for the whole shortblock minus a flywheel and head so if I were you I'd go that route and build it up right. Or, a 302 is going to have more torque and about 225HP in stock form (not counting headers), and NOT be peaky either. But of course its not a straight plug in and yada yada, but I'm starting to think of a mild V8 instead of the F54, but I have time to think about it of course.
  6. This would be crappy news if true, I know someone that got a set not TOO long ago, within the last 6 months, I can't quite remember...
  7. Bob, those are CCW wheels, Complete Custom Wheel, very nice stuff, lightweight and cheap for the product you get. That car is awesome, I have used it as my desktop for awhile, looks awesome. (Oh brother, didn't see my own above post, didn't see that the thread was this old, oops).
  8. The color of your car (graphite?) is great, what is it?
  9. Well, thats one heck of a "stunt" LoL "Hey everyone, I'm going to try the break my ass trick, and maybe try to pull off a I need steel pins in my ankles trick too"
  10. Further, it has to be a server that allows remote viewing.
  11. Nice to hear that not all "ricers" dont know anything, but 300 pound feet is still not spectacular, those are 2700-2800 pound cars? Still decent, but I'm guessing not what would attract me in terms of price/performance.

    V12Z

I bet it sounds sweet though, any chance the firing order is like a Lambo or Ferrari V12? I have to admit a V12 has intruiged me for some time, or even a V10 possibly, I just dont know that the Z is the right place for it.
  13. The whole intake system as I know it isn't that great, its a truck engine really, torque but no HP. The L98s eventually put out 330TQ and 230-235HP, but still they are torquey and with the stock intake, dont get much better with cams, head work, etc Example, L98 383, 490 RWTQ (OMG), 370ish RWHP.

    88' 300zx turbo LSD

LEN my good buddy, please get back to me whenever, about the "secret" spot, I want to find some goodies sometime, no rush though, whenever. Thanks
  15. Ok, I believe I now have solid reasoning to NOT consider a weld job at all for road course stuff. As for viscous, I just dont know enough about them.

    5.0 240

Nope, and you wouldn't want to hook it up either. Look for a T5 thats built to take the abuse of the larger, torquier engine. Good luck on the hunt

    V12Z

    Thats neat, but 3200 pounds?...........
  18. LS1 also gets a composite intake jerks. LT1 is pretty good though, and will cost less to play with, if cost were not a factor I'd be all over an LS6 or something similar. There is a 6.0 truck LS1 with supposedly LS6 capable heads (in terms of ported flow numbers), but an iron block.
  19. No problem, I emailed you the text file. I got it from 240Z.org

    88' 300zx turbo LSD

Yep, and if you sell it I'd be interested!!!
  21. (this was supposed to be a test post, forgot I can't del my own stuff, doh)
  22. Oh well, school systems follow the society. We moved here in about 79 or so for the schools, just about that time is when the budget cuts kicked in and CA started sliding schoolastically. I was never a big fan of school, but occasionally you come across a really good teacher, and then sometimes the really crappy ones that dont belong there. I like the idea of school/college, but have a hard time going back, because EVERY time I do I am dissapointed. Good students can follow instruction, A, B, C, memorize things for tests, and allow themselves to sit through hours of slow moving crap that you covered last year already. I guess this is what makes them perfect for the biz world, meanwhile Japan is still kicking our ass.
  23. Exaust tubing sizes/primary lengths and all that jazz are going to depend on power and RPM too, so its definately purpose built if you are expecting to get the most gains from it.
  24. Why not make adjustments with the rear gear, a 1:1 5th without going custom trans, can't say I've heard of such a thing. The 1993 Camaro/Firebird 6 speed is a close ratio trans, 30% drop in each gear, 6th I think is .67 $1000-$1500 or $3000+, hmm... I know what you mean, but unless you want a $70,000 240Z eventually compromises have to be made
