There is also the idea that the part does not have to made all at once. When I made my hood I started with the hump first then worked my way to one side then the other. The one side was well set before I finished the second side. In all I made about six or seven half quart batches of resin. It is like blueovalz said, it all has to do with tempurature. I was told it was best to work at about 50F and put a heater on the part when it was complete. It worked fine for me.

Your lucky Tim: I have been stopped “just for a chat†a few times. Usually I am just cruising slow on a weekend. They just pull along side with the windows down and say “Got a minute?†The guys are usually really nice about it. Any violations that have been found, like lights, they just say drive by the shop with in 24 hours and show the desk sergeant it’s been fixed. I don’t have a problem with any of it. My car is legal here. What’s wrong with a five point harness?

I think epoxy resin would be al little over kill and expensive for a dash. Just your basic styrene based polyester resin will do. You know… the green stuff. I used a gallon to do my hood and had lots left over. You could probably get by with a couple of quarts. Keep in mind that this product does have a shelf life of about a year if kept at 70 F. Boat shops might be rare in parts of Texas, so you could try a Vette shop and find out where he gets his supplies from.

Does anyone recognize the P/S pump in the second pic? If it’s GM ….then what year? Where is his fluid reservoir? Bump steer won’t be effected if the two pivot points on the racks remains unchanged. The stock 1st Gen Z is 25 ¼ in. This is as close as any one has seen so far.

Dear Mr Beech. Did you see anywhere in my post that this book should be posted with out copyright dues? Or was it just an assumption on your part in these days of P2P interfaces. The manual’s original intention was to sell and help install the parts necessary to do the swap. JTR’s parts. I was my wrongful assumption, the real brain fart, that the message could be conveyed in so few words. I thought that, ‘perhaps’ with the permission of the fine people of Jags that Run, the administrators at Hybrids could post in part (or whole) this valuable engineering aid so that they might, in the long run, sell a few more parts. It's called advertizing. It was never my intention to deprive anyone of their rightful dues for their efforts. I apologise to the fine people of this board if any of them thought other wise.

Hey grumpyvette: I had been putting off purchasing an automatic shield because I had read some time back that the time it took for the switch to turn on was not fast enough to save the eyes. The author of the article had suggested closing the eyes momentarily to avoid flash burn. I was wondering if switch time was now faster?

The most powerful was my ’71 El Camino SS 454. It would spin the tires at any speed and would stop like a hippopotamus on wet clay! Second was my wife’s 440 Dodge Charger. It used to corner like the Chev used to stop. Third was an AAR Cuda I was planning to keep. It was reasonably quick and nimble but lack a true sports car feel. The best all around car is the Z…natch. Thanks for the thoughts Van. Yours must be a tough job. I am afraid I am going to have to disagree with you Matt. The neighbourhood watch programs do work. I have first hand knowledge of an foiled child abduction and two apprehended thieves in my old area. No the program doesn’t work 100 percent of the time but it is the best the public can do. In this case the killer was just some creep who lost it. It’s imposable to figure something like that in advance. We still keep an eye on things around here. My family comes first for me. This incident hit just too close to home.
