  1. I found this video on another forum. (Yes there is more than this one) Sorry if this has been posted previously. The search button doesn’t work for me because… well just because. http://starterupsteve.com/swf/posting.html?
  2. Thanks for the pics Chelle. It's nice to finally see the inside of one of these motors to get an idea of what’s going on. The modifications don’t seem to be all that extreme. Nice work on the pan and sump. I hope your instalation turns out this nice.
  3. OK kids. I remember way back in the seventies when a lot custom cars and vans had this style and the interiors to match. It had a lot to do with the drugs builders were doing at that time. Just say no.
  4. It looks like the leaves have been ripped right off those palm trees! Dat260 Where is that, it reminds me of the ice storm we got here in Montreal a few years ago. I was in MTL for that one. They closed all the bridges with me one the south shore. I had to go through Valleyfield to back to Toronto. Driving through a major city in the dark with the odd arcing electrical tower is spooky.
  5. I had that bug as well. The source is Kazaa. The link shows a clean p2p program and what was removed. http://www.samurai-hq.com/index.php?page=p2p/clean I am now using a cleaned Kazza Lite++ Version 2.4.5.9 There are no bugs.
  6. Is the pressure plate and flywheel particular to the V12 or will a set up from a six work? Are there any balance weights on the flywheel to be concerned with? Where is the oil pump now located and how is it driven? Thanks.
  7. I’m going to call the copyright office and then you’re going to pay big time! Oh ya…law suits…lawyers…deportations…cavity searches…that's right... Looks good Matt. They probably won’t fade because the sun can’t reach them. If they do just say they are originals form the seventies.
  8. Hey Chelle: I wouldn’t mind seeing some pics on how you put the engine and transmission together and maybe a description on how the fly wheel, clutch and pressure plate issues were handled…. Please and thank you...
  9. Up here in the sixties we had "Sunoco 260" that was 104 octane and purple in colour. With lots of carcinogenic power inducing lead!
  10. I'm with datsunlover on this one. I know it has been done here. But wasn't there a state somewhere that will scrap your car if the rivets have been buggered with?
  11. Sometimes people have to loose everything and hit rock bottom before they change. They must loose more than just their “thingsâ€.

  13. So now we have to know. Scotty...how did you get through it...whose advice was correct?
  14. I’m still around Mat. I think I’m becoming a lurker though. Mopar swaps were first and second in my Z. There are no kits so fabrication skills are a must. A nice economical taxi motor was first. Dual AFB old school 340 with J heads came after.
  15. Like he said. This is the reason that JTR does so well. You just can’t move a heavy car with gears like that. You could go for the six cylinder gear set, which is higher but you will loose the posi. The V12 cars in OZ had a higher posi gear ratio. The only thing I worried about with this rear end was reports that the wheels loose there geometry under high power loads. A set of urethane bushings might cure that problem.
  16. All this winter I have been hauling tanker loads of road deicer through northern Ontario for the DOT. It’s mostly made up of corn syrup and calcium, but seems to work when the salted ice freezes up again at 20 below. The government is on an environment craze and trying to get away from salt on the road so they are trying just about anything. I hauled an experimental load made of fermenting beet juice that just foamed up and made a mess. The small town of Guelph has a brewery and they are using a by product from the fermentation process to melt the snow and ice on the roads. Now that’s something I can handle!
  17. You might want to get one of them chrome propelars for your hitch too. edit: and a rudder.
  18. I started out the same. One girl and a boy in the oven, small garage, small house, one income a mortgage the size of the national debt... and rusty Z with plans to put a motor in from a taxi. Just take it slow. It will come around. Now Two incomes Two kids in university. One working. Three in high school. That's right...six. Second woman. Big house Big garage full of junk and a V12Z. I have almost lost the car to financal woos a few times. Next month I will have had this car twenty years.
  19. It might be spent/burnt coolent.
  20. Hey Mat: Nice clean car with a matching installation. Can’t wait to see it complete!
