  1. i think the opposite, when you are doing things the car wasnt originally desinged for, dyno time will tell how well it does or doesnt like it. just installed hks s-afr, it works well so far, right now im just learning idle and next set will try to lean it out in the 4k range, im not going to try anything else until i set up egt and afr guage-yes, it came with the box. ill dyno soon, its the only way ill even put my foot in the boost. too slow, I am the first with this!!!!!
  2. doesnt that big pinion nut need like 200lb torque? that stuff scares me, the consequences i mean. I remember one night my buddy couldnt get enough torque down on a nut that needed similar torque on some solid axle car. He had to go to a diesel place and have them hit it with the 3/4 impact.
  3. 323 is a no go, too many variables, or differentials... Im going with what I know I guess, Im thinking s13, dang nice cars, ive been staring at silvia parts for eons now- piles of tein coilovers staring at me, bolt in 200 dollar 12mm r200 4.08 lsd units with bulletproof looking cvs, huge sway bars-some bent like crazy some extremely nice, front clips staring me in the face-driving me crazy . nice drivers too-they remind me more of a z than the 300zxtt or the 350z do.
  4. if you can get it tig welded by pros, i would go for aluminum piping all the way. youll love yourself in the end, all beautiful tig welds on the piping... get the bends and spend the extra dollar on alum, the tig welding (if you can find one) is extremely expensive-but hey since you have a hookup, i would go alloy all the way, and also have them reroute the inlet/outlet to the most efficient configuration possible. just me.
  5. scotty, i think thats funny you have a guy in the well applied, second hard parts department too! theres this one guy i know and ill buy almost anything from him!! my injectors, bumpers, seats, ideas, etc, come from this guy. please run an 11 on the afm.
  6. factory regulator is fine for a good while. if i didnt get a great deal on an adjustable, id be still running factory fpr for sure. its just that the one i have now has a guage!! increasing fuel pressure wont get you any further than a tuned stock setup as far as daily driving goes, not saying you can spike it up really high and get away with some more boost, but i dont think its safe.
  7. you guys are funny, my buddies and i are actually the opposite. all our lives weve dated only asian women, we are always buggin our token caucasian friend to hook us up! ah, San Francisco....
  8. found some specs for them on wheelreplicas.com (numbers next to offset are prices, silver/polish/chrome Cobra R 16x8 +15mm 499,619,799 17x9 +18mm569,649,809 2003 Cobra wheels(which i like a little more, guess ive seen too man cobra r wheels) 4lug 17x9 +26mm 589,689,829 pretty good for big wide wheels i think. its a shame they dont just frekin bolt on dangit! offsets on the 16x8 are pretty close
  9. i guess the 3.54 is pretty good, i like the od ratio with short tires. i would run a 3.7 in an instant if it was lsd, and not look back though..
  10. im still exploring options, i may still turn this turbo into a t3/4, still dont know...
  11. how much end play on driveshaft yoke??? im thinking not enough, and that could have caused that crunch. wow, thats a better photo than my old mustache bar!
  12. ross will make a spacer to allow the 4x4.25 bolt pattern to be used, i think. He made spacers for my buddy that are same as the honda spacers, but retain 4x4.5 bolt pattern, so it is possible.
  13. 81-3 non turbo zx trans. great od. if you use a 3.54, you do 80 at 3k or so, its nice.
  14. at least your not bitter!
  15. 550 can support close to 100hp a hole if you have the right combo Ill be running .58 stage V 60-1 t04e very soon, and from what im reading it should be a pretty nice street turbo great reading, if we didnt butt heads, we wouldnt get anywhere right ?
  16. you would have to do this i guess: weight of intake vs. su intake weight of exhaust manifold, dp, turbo vs. a NA header J pipe weight or fmic +pipes + CAI vs. air cleaner im sure it picks up some, but who cares?
  17. my buddies 72 was that color green, and he painted it BLUE, viper blue hes married though. BLUE, I would go blue, shoot the car looks clean, i would save paint for after turbo swap is done and runs good.
  18. I run a BOV, and I really like it. Drivability hasnt been affected at all by it. HKS ssqv, opens and closes extremely fast, and pull type mechanism insures it will not leak at idle. good unit and will never recirculate a bov as long as i run boost. its not a BOV if its recirculated, its a RV or a DV. I dont stall, and throttle response is very good IME. Its just me, I like turbo noise, like straight EWG dumps and BOVs.
  19. just get the intercooler, whats wrong with an intercooler?
  20. not hard, i got an adapter for t3 to t4, it was weld on unit but what i did was drill it for t3 bolt spacing, and i need to get the holes countersunk on t4 side soon, and then you just slide it down on the studs and bolt the sucker on, think i might have to cut the bolts shorter to clear, but not bad at all. the adapter also serves double purpose as a spacer to pull the compressor away from the exhaust manifold. i like it, even though it just sits on my work bench.
  21. if you get the 200zr mounts i believe it will, not sure on oil pan though.
  22. just do it when you do the trans swap while trans is down. it can be done in car, now is when that 1/4 impact comes in handy lots of small bolts holding it on remember to be nice to the two guides in the rear of pan. havent had to do it in car, but ive been under the car layin there on my back contemplating that I COULD do it in the car
