Wow, that is one of my favorite Z videos ever, and the music is by???? L24, L26 or L28 some artist like that. That could be my life soundtrack! Looks like he runs soft springs and heavy swaybars.

Experiment with some 1/8" lexan. Get a large salad bowl or form in the shape you want. Put a bunch of heavy sand in the oven and bake it to about 200-400 degrees (whatever will form the lexan) then take the sand out of the oven and place the sand or sand bags on the lexan. Hopefully with the heat and weight of the sand, it will form the lexan into the mold. I don't know if this works but it's an easy experiment.

With the way the tires break loose, you have good insurance against breaking stuff. Just don't slam-shift too much.

Actually it's a good question and I am going to google it. I think common sense applies in cases like these. There is always a chance but that's how real life is anyhow. You take chances and you deal with it. Sometimes you win sometimes you lose. Remember it's probably a much more difficult case based solely on an internet video than if there was a first hand officer of the law on the scene. If it were part of a larger investigation, surely it could be used in a case but as the sole peice of evidence, a fleeting internet video, does not have strong legs. <---all my opinion....no actual facts. This could be/should be in another thread if the admins feel it's even appropriate to discuss here...I have my doubts.

The internet police? That was just a staged scene performed against a bluescreen. The driver was a volunteer actor. The voiceover was done by Joe Shmoe. All numbers quoted were actually Kilometers per hour. Texas has now adopted the metric system although all acting and filming/editing was performed in a Hollywood studio.

Love it! I am really beginning to miss quality time with my Z and you are not helping. At least my blood starts boiling watching and listening to your Z. A few more weeks and I should be rolling it out of storage and placing it on top of the Z32 five speed. I can't wait.

I have passed snowmobiles on our local roads during snowstorms. I love the look of terror on their faces. The wiper trick is to leave them slightly up on the window with the defroster on so they don't ice up while driving in ice conditions. Tap the wiper button to get them to stop up on the window.

Just get an RS or WRX. It's like a Z for winter. I love the snowy weather and can't wait for the commute in the blizzard. I look forward to it. Just take backroads...never highways with the morons.

You might want to replace the plastic ties with wire or metal ones. Just something to think about and save you a headache later. Really nice Zed. Maybe someday I'll get up to Ontario with my Z again.

My car blew the hazard/brake lights fuse. I put in another one that lasted for two weeks. Then the car quit on me, the Megasquirt just stopped working and the fuse blew again. Then all of a sudden, the car started up again. I replaced the fuse again and it's been fine for 6 months now. Old cars, old wires, mice...just cross your fingers more often. Anything I disconnect nowadays gets reconnected with silicone grease or di-electric greases, even light bulbs. You have to keep that pesky oxygen away from the metal somehow.

It's been about a year since I wired my MSII so I am a bit rusty but why does the MSD box tie into FIDLE? I don't use the MSD, I used MSII to fire the 83 turbo coil.

I don't see how it could be non-linear unless the angle between the spring/strut travel and the control arm was really far off from 90 deg. Even then it would only have a slight curve, especially in such a short swing range. No? I swear by Permatex #2, very thin coating on both sides of all my paper/cork gaskets. Silicone/Polymer gaskets are definitely superior and would not need an additional coating or sealant.

Wow that was extremely helpful! Great peak into the reality of racing from the backyard. "If you sleep in the truck and eat crackers it (cost) will go down too." I suppose it keeps the "race weight" down too.

Anyone here race competitively on their own, or for a team? What can you tell us about it? Type of racing you do or did? How to get started? How expensive is it? When/How do sponsors get involved? How many races per season do you need to attend? How much control do you have over, car class, cost, time spent travelling, racing, fixing the car...etc? What do you need in your basket before you go racing? I thought this could become an interesting thread and seeing as there is such a mix of experience and knowledge on HybridZ. This could be very eye-opening for a lot of people. Discuss away...

Wow another New Yorker! Sorry to hear about the poor piston fit. If the shop built the whole motor, how long ago was it? Have you changed anything on it since they built it? How many miles did you put on it since it was built? All of this will determine your course of action. Hopefully, if you give them all the facts, and they are reasonable, you can come to some sort of an agreement. Maybe they will have the motor re-done at their cost, or partially their cost. Are you sure the crankshaft broke the skirts or was it the connecting rods? List the parts that were used in the rebuild. You need all of the FACTS to solve this one.
