  1. Had some fun with my buddies old diesel exhaust system This one is for you PPK.
  2. How do you KNOW you are running too rich? Do you have a wideband?
  3. Your idle is at 3200rpm ? Can you give us specifics on exactly what you have, as in what car you have and other specifics?
  4. I have that same intercooler! How do you like it so far? I have had fairly great results with it.
  5. There are different throw out bearins. You should be able to get just a throw out bearing from autozone. And what transmission you use does not matter, get the clutch that was made for that year and model.
  6. Very nice! That is a great bike. I have to say that because I work at a Yamaha dealership Have fun on it! and keep the front wheel on the ground!
  7. You forgot to add the links. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Yokohama&tireModel=AVS+ES100&partnum=25VR5ES100&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=BFGoodrich&tireModel=g-Force+T%2FA+Drag+Radial+2&partnum=75R5GFTADR2
  8. http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/forum/11-drivetrain/ http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/49194-differential-cv-lsd-hp-torque-r160-r180-r200-r230-diff-mount/ Yes, it is a R200, just not 100% sure on the gear ratio. As far as pictures go, you need something like photo bucket to upload them to, then get the direct link for the pic and paste it in the "insert image" tool.
  9. People have made high revving L motors, but it takes a lot of time, knowledge and money for it to happen. You will probably have to build the motor such that it will not be very street friendly. And as far as turbo motors and streight lines.....F1 motors were turbocharged for quite some time. And the Turbo model cars did come fully loaded, probably more so than the N/A cars. SEARCH SEARCH SEARCH
  10. Save yourself the time and money and buy a 82-83 Turbo ZX. The 79's had soft suspension and the auto's suck for high horse power applications. Sounds like you have a whole lot of searching to do. All of the imformation you are looking for has been posted here on HBZ. The SEARCH button will be your best friend here, use that first, then start asking the hard questions for the pros to answer. As for the 10,000 rpm thing......get a rotary if RPM's are your goal, and in your budget. P.S. - The engine is a L28E, not DE.
  11. I am running SlowBoy Racing's Garrett GT30 T3/T4 w/ .70 A/R Compressor with a 4" ported shroud, a .63 A/R turbine, and stage 3 wheels. I like it a lot, just have to make a down pipe work for it. The factory Nissan flange on the back of the turbo is not a common flange that you will find, better to upgrade any ways.
  12. Some pics with the new camera :
  13. I do know that bolt is torqued to 100ft/lbs, mine was kind of tough to break loose. And it is the bolt at the end of cam shaft, it is pretty simple .
  14. You should notice two tabs, 180* from each other, twords the middle of the cam shaft. You can put a wrench in that spot to hold it still. Good luck!
  15. Be very carefull when using a manual boost controller for the first time. You want to start with it all the way closed(stock boost) and gradually add more boost. As far as the poor running condition goes, check all of your intake connections and make sure that you did not create a vacuum leak anywhere. If you have a leak inbetween your AFM and intake, your ECU will get a false reading and cause the engine to run poorly.
  16. I just purchased a Nikon CoolPix P100 today. The SLR cameras were a little large for me, both in size and price. I like this camera so far, especially the movable screen! Just wish it have the option to add a wide angle lens and a filter
  17. I am also in the young crowd, but I do at least 2 car budies that I can count on to give me a hand. Just last night I helped my friend pull his motor out of his 86 RX-7 Turbo to put in a new clutch and some other maintenance. We got the motor back in and running at about 2A.M. Hopefully when I get out of the service, I will be able to find some more car enthusiasts, and maybe some will be Z-ipper heads like us.
  18. Fantastic! I have been haveing trouble with those 2-3 letter word/phrases! Thanks for sharing!
  19. Ummm.....Do you know what you have done be eliminating your wastegate? Your turbo is going to be spinning way out of its RPM range without the WG hooked up. My guess is that you are going to be blowing hot air into your motor and potentially blow it up.
  20. ...... Boost controller. Question: - Do you know how a wastegate works? Allow me to explain this to you. The wastegate opens, via an arm attatched to a diaphragm actuator, at a certain boost pressure to bleed off exhaust pressure. In doing so, this limits the amount of boost being expelled by the turbo. If you were to keep the WG shut, the turbo would continue to spin faster and faster, creating more and more boost until one or more engine components gave up. Get a manual boost controller, and......yeah.
  21. My pump died on me like that. Is your pump mounted in the lowest spot in your fuel system? Mine was mounted too high, causeing the fuel to drain out of it. This would cause the pump to prime dry on initial start up, and this lead to the death of my pump. Also, my buddie's pump in his RX7 is going out in the same way you have stated, and his is a Walbro 255.
  22. When the car is not running, does the guage read 0(zero)psi/vac? No matter how fast the engine is spinning, with no load applied on the engine, you will always read a vacuum. Can you post a picture of how you have the vacuum lines hooked up for the boost guage?
  23. If you have the money for them, get a set of Magnecor's. I love mine to death. http://slowboystore.com/magnecor/magnecor_electrosports_80_8mm_plug_wires/6024/i-62213.aspx
