  1. My thought is why block the internal return? I have read most of the threads about coolant issues but I have never seen a reason to block it off, (At least no hard evidence.) other than keeping the pump from dead heading. But maybe I missed something. If this was not a BSR head I would have said there was casting flash blocking flow. So that just leaves you radiator/ fan combo.
  2. Let me be the first to say "It'll buff out" BECAUSE RACECAR!
  3. I am sure you know how to gauge the problems with the car i.e. smashed body, or mechanical / electrical issues. And just by taking off the valve covers you can get a good idea of the condition. If there are any fluids left check them too. The lower rad hose usually has some fluid left in it. Any way it sounds like you are looking for a pep talk. I say do some up keep gasket replacement and timing chain, water pump and rock it. What's the worse that could happen????
  4. WOW, that was a mouthful. I agree pics are needed. Waiting........... =]
  5. +1 on your skills! Looks great!
  6. Yay for you! Looks great. Top notch work with great discriptions. Keep it up!
  7. Just do the Gm HEI upgrade and slap it on. The difference between the early model and zx dizzy is the the ignition module. The zx is attached to the side while the early series is in the cabin.
  8. Looking specificly for a LH floor pan to fix mine. If you have one please let me know! A pair would work if the price is right. Browercompservice@hotmail.com Thanks Scott Edit: Guess I should be more specific, I have a 71 that has floor rot mostly on the passenger side. Frame rail is not needed, but separate would be best. Sorry for the edit. Also if any one local would split the cost we might be able to work it out.
  9. Nice work!!! Might we be seeing a new supplier? Waiting for the finished product.
  10. ^ WINNER!!!! If the old motor is a test mule (an old or tired block) what's the worst that can happen????
  11. Still trying to wrap my head around this theory and application. As I see it, there would be a huge benifit to going dry sump as well. You would gain the benifits of less heat, but this could give a better location for the squirters and could have full controll over WHEN they squirt.
  12. Yes put it in 5 th and rock it back and forth. If it moves you should be ready to trouble shoot. Start with the basics, fuel, air and spark.
  13. Yep sounds like an electrical problem.
  14. Or get an Ly head... Either way it will cost a real pretty penny.
  15. Check your basics, fuel, air, and spark. It sounds like fuel to me, clogged filter ect.
  16. You speak the truth. From what I have discovered I might get charged for 2 square meters because it's longer than 1 meter! So it might be over 1000 just to ship!
  17. One problem I see is we need to know what trans you plan on running, because from what I recall the S14 speedo gets its input from the diff.
  18. Looking for front bumper and grill for Mazda 323 (Protege) Familia sedan. If you are able to source the parts please let me know and we can arrange shipping. Thanks for looking and have a great day! (Mods): Not sure if this should go in parts wanted or Non Tech. So I guessed Update: I have talked with a scrap yard and he is saying the cheapest he can get on shipping is 550$ a square meter.
  19. Check your carbs out. I bet a good tune will solve this problem.
  20. She is a keeper! My wife supports me a LOT! Every time I mention a new part she has to make sure it falls into a "need" category not the "want", it can be good to have another conscience.
  21. No it won't die if you remove the oil cap. How is your timing? Fuel pressure? Filters? Ect. We need a little more info than you have given.
