It's really a matter of opinion, most people shy away form them due to the points noted by luseboy. While others have great success. The fact of the matter is that it's your money, spend how you like but my opinion is run what you got. Do more searching in the FAQ section there are some good reading on head selection and prep work. As far as the stock usdm manifold, it's square port so you will have to resolve that issue. But they flow quite well and the quench area is good. Just be careful on valve size they changed sizes during the p79 life.

I think a clean tank might solve your issue...... If you drop a ping ping ball into a gas tank it will float around the inlet for a while till the suction is strong enough to pull it in and cut off the fuel supply. The pump stops and the ball returns to the top. Restart and problem returns. Great way to aggravate mechanics. I'd say you have some sediment over a filter or a colapsing fuel line.

From what I understand (not a guru) you can run it without the HEI and invert the spark signal. But it sounds like you are grounded out some where.

If you check out the supra forums most people are against the getrag 6 speed being so heavy and still has pit falls. Most seem to opt for a GM trans with adapter plate or a built R154.
