  1. I agree with camH. However I suggest finding a turbo engine and ecu you will also need the turbo cross member for engine. IT will save you a HUGE headache check www.z31.net they have lots of info on na to Turbo
  2. Glad to hear such a good feeling isn't it? My advice is to ditch the whole 280zxt eccs and go with something more advanced either standalone sds, megasquirt haltech. Or you can go with 300zxt ecu and run nistune. The zxt system is so far behind and very prone to problems.
  3. Keep following that melted wire looks like you probaly melt something else where. You also have to figure out why it melted seems like couple of wires were touching shorting out.
  4. follow the wires and make sure its the right pin at the ecu Like I said there is a bunch of yellow wires especially with the age yellow/white doesnt show us well
  5. I think I have a 280zxt ignitor and 300zxt unit dont know if you want to wait on shipping and all that. Dont go replacing parts till you troubleshooted and not crapshoot. SO check if you got 12v+ at B/W ignitor and coil + in ON position make sure they are both grounded on the chasis properally. If not than its not your ignitor dont waste your time cranking killing starter or battery. How did you do your ignition side of things? I remember there was a plug on 280zxt with allot of yellows :S make sure your using the right wires. GOODLUCK HUSSEIN
  6. NO seafoam lil ATF in engine oil doesnt hurt change. Rad flush, vac/fuel hoses, air filter, plugs, wires here and there and should run like a champ!
  7. ı dont have any but you dont need to go äftermarket cause the 280z ıs got thıcker front sway bars and ıt has rear whıch the 240z dıdnt. Oh and you have an early 240z so ıt wıll requıre some drıllıng ın the rear.
  8. WE all been through it okay not all but most. There was a thing on HBZ called Jack Stand Racing and this group had lots of members. Mine took 4 years dont feel so bad.
  9. Havent watched it yet but the reviews dont seem to promising.
  10. My infiniti J30 has a vg30dett I got a bad turbo. Looking for stock turbo(s) off a 300zxtt or 2 t28 off rb26dett Id like one that doesnt burn/leak oil and very minimal shaft play. I dont know if the other t25's or 28s off sr20dets and other turbo cars are the same. Would like to have a bolt on and same size as the stock 300zxtt
  11. I dont think its logical at all. infact I think it will take more time and money. You have to pull the tranny out clutch all that then design and mount CAS right on there. Take care of the programming. And if god forbit sh*t happens which always does good luck opening the tranny. Derek here on HBZ makes the triggor wheel, hub, and mount sensor which I highly recommend will make your EDIS swap much easier.
  12. Very Good read, I am glad I did my own little porting at home. But I have some questions. I ported my head about 2-3" as deep as I could get with a dremel and polished it I matched it just under the manifold gasket removed the casting pattern line etc. I think there was a 3-5 mm increase in Diameter. I also did the Turbo manifold and intake manifold port matched it to the head. However My question is my valves and cam are still stock am I moving / flowing more air into it? How much hp/tq do you guys estimate I gained? I do feel a difference but I havent re-tuned the car till I get my wideband on. I Still have a stock T3 my block is .5mm over w/2.5" DP and 3" mandrel bent. My next mods are wideband and t3/t4. I'd really like to give my brother a run for his money he has a 3.1 stroked forged bottom end gt35R , sds , methanol running 17 psi making 340 hp stock head/IM and EX manifold. After readign this im really think I should re-invest into the head Maybe bigger valves and msa stage 2 turbo cam.
  13. I just removed the radiator and put new coolant in and it is spitting out the rad neck filler ( I dont have a overflow hooked up ) just need to let it run for awhile and bleed out. I think this is normal and there is air in the system
  14. This is very interesting . I know I have heard of people running 2 headgaskets but every car buddy I mention it to is like "no no" And since you cant find 2mm Metal Headgasket this could be a good option> Braap or any of you guys know what brand of Headgasket's Norm used? Cause I know the OEM HG is much better than the FEL PRO Hussein
  15. I think both mechanicals and electrical have there days Try getting a cheapo mechanical boost gauge and see what it says comparing between the two. Even better is hdi boost gauge. moth mechanical and digital read out. If you have their boost controllers they need no wiring it plugs right in there. I have the EBC and was thinking of getting this gauge but opted against it How do you like the Vipec system?
  16. I think you can run up to 2o psi its all the tune , boost doesnt kill detonation kills. With a decent tune you should and can run 15 lbs no problem again its all in the tune. Anything over 17 I would run methanol for more cooling and and increase in octane will run more cleaner too. Have you shaved or decked block and head? If this has been done numerous times I would not recommend going over 13 psi all depends on your compression. Good luck. Happy boosting
  17. Yah I for sure I agree its fun to do your own stuff but economics 101 opportunity cost. That time you could have bought his kit mounted and not mess up your first pulley , prior that go junkyard remove escort pulley and all associated time with that trigger wheel would have been the same price if not cheaper. Time is money too. Best of luck I am not trying to put you down or anything just take it from someone who was stubborn and tried himself all the options.
  18. Good progress, do yourself a favour and get Dereks mount for the sensor and trigger wheel hub with your 76 pulley> I had major issues with trying to line it up dead center. Further more his wheels are laser cut. The escort wheel probally has a wobble even if you centered perfect sometimes when removing these wheels they get a bit bent because they are press fitted. Also I would also recommend the full db 37 connector and wiring so much more easier from DIYautotune. I wish I went this route to begin with Mine still works its pretty clean but too many connections and so many different colour of wires. Good luck
  19. Hi again Softopz's! Just to say that I'm going to ottawa for the university I a week! It's been a long time since we talked about our setup, hope your car is well tuned now! From my side, I blown my engine this summer and now I have a brand new rebuilted one. My MS setup is not very good since my engine is pinging when I want to boost at 10psi... I don't know wh...

  20. NO words that come to my mind. Ill get back to you on this.
  21. I have a friend who is parting out an 89 turbo I'll let you know
  22. Yah Id like to know too Thats what Iam putting in my car soon. I believe wigenout s30 has ms2 and the supra 440cc I'll contact him for info.
  23. looks really good! Keep up the good work. Dont know about that Air filter. In front of the radiator? pointing downwards? in the fender? hoodscoop with a box right into air filter would be sick too.
  24. I have the MSA perfomance pulley crank pulley whatever you want to call it its a single groove. Less than 100 miles Went with EDIS dereks setup so reverted to a stock pulley.
