  6. where is your wastegate?(before or after turbo? where are you dumping) what are you using to control boost? and what source are you picking up for boost control and wastegate.
  7. Look at your first reply I dont think you answered the question I was asking. Could you mention how you have your Pip/saw wired with shielding? I used alarm wire very cheap and available at lots of electronics stores. They come in 1-4 wires different gauge sizes, already bundled/shielded with a rubber cover much easier running all this foil and shielding through. Are you using a resisted plug as well? Those magnecors are good for megasquirt I noticed a difference in resets. hopefully that will do the trick for you.
  8. NIce work keep it up and keep us updated for sure Iam definatly subscribed. What do you have left now motor mounts, tranny mounts, driveshaft? What differential setup will you go with this swap. I dont know if this has been asked but whats hp/torque out this motor in stock form?
  9. Its good that your megasquirting your engine before throwing some turbo stuff EDIS is not a must you can run your stock distribituor in the mean time, Than either lock it, get a zxt or EDIS. Just to keep things simple...

Ya actually you can loose compression overnight, detonation can be very quite sometimes. -Did you put your old plugs back and see what happened? you had said that was some of your recent changes. that would be the first thing I would do. -Like I said before it could also be a bad wideband going looney (you havent verified that you just put old maps back on) Find a buddy with a wideband and do a quick swaparoo most of them used the bosch lsu 4.2 sensor. This would be the second easiest thing you can do. -You also said you had done some gas tank work I dont know how extreme the changes were, But I would try a quick volume/flow test. Get a jug put it on your feed after pump and time how fast its filling up. There is some more info on zcar about this basically to see if your pump is pumping adequatly (fuel pressure gauge wont tell you this) -one more thing Dave just borrow a compression tester you still havent shut me up Iam not going to stop ....since you eliminated all your previous possiblities gas tests and map/msq errors. I bought from princess auto aka harbour freight here in Canada it was 20 bucks and its a easy/fast test to do. Just remember pull your plugs out and have throttle open while cranking (4 - 6 cranks is good a remote starter helps too if you dont have someone to crank car for you ) write the numbers, then squirt a little oil in each cylinder this a wet test. If you start seeing numbers increase than you got bad rings or bad headgasket. been using it for 2 years no problems very handy tool. I just did a test before removing my head gasket all were good except number 4 ofcourse there was a huge tell tale sign of water steam in exhaust but it was good see where I was loosing power and sure enough gasket near 4 bent. I would put a timing light on each wire and see how it flashes that will definatly tell you allot I know I have intermittent miss at 3 random cylinders. edit now that Iam thinking more of your issue I have the same symptoms I did have a miss and could have been why I blew a headgasket. Especially after you had said you removed plugs and tried to notice if the miss leaves. How are your injectors wired? I ask because when reading about wasted spark setups it seems that the spark goes to the plug with the most compression (valves closed) and basically atomization of fuel and air. I put a timing light on each wire and I also found an ignition miss. This to me can only be caused by atomization theory or triggor wheel/pick up. What I will do ( put the light again note cylinders and check how injectors are wired to that cylinder and switch driver their using off db39. I will also try different injection options in megatune dont you just love elimination troubleshooting BUT I have to finish my headgasket in the meantime maybe you can beat me to it.
  11. l28et f54 block p90 head here are the part numbers for reference use. I actually have 2 headgasket sets (so I still have a brand new one which I might not going to use cause it blcoks ports) one came from the guy who dissambled, cleaned , installed valvestems, adjusted valves etc... and the other came with the engine kit I got rings, pistons, chain etc... both are 8799 Zmanco I dont know if you really had a stock headgasket to compare to or a p90 head. You say you compared to the gasket you had at the time , How do you know that was stock and you didnt compare it to the head... maybe thats why. I ll take pictures if your still skeptical...
  12. Stony Glad it worked for ya! cool technology eh just like the stuff in this thread. Braap like I said my post was not to start a i phone sucks or nokia thing it may have come off that way. As stated earlier I am a die hard Nokia fan but showing you i-phones users are getting the better end of the stick in terms of software development, especially if you look at how long its been out. Truth be told nokia and windows mobile OS have been around longer but seeing how fast the i-phone software outis quite astonishing. Of course due mostly to the magnitude of people i phone users. But Its cool that the post did change like Valmont adding the links other phone users and PC scan tools. I downloaded the autoenteguity scan program which is available in the download section of their website. Soon as I launced it looking for a comport so maybe I can try to fool these people and get a scanner/logging tool cheap. The website list the wire and software for $250 this only does powertrain sensors. And they sell you expansion packs $150 for specific make that will do further testing ie ABS< systems testing, gaugeclusters etc. Iam going to buy the Ob2 to USb converter which $110 off http://www.obd2allinone.com/ (check out there other stuff like mefi tune) and launch it with the autoentguity program. Which is most likely going to tell me to activate and purchase soon as you try to do anything heheh. Iam not worried though cause on the ob2allinone site they list more automotive scan tools that are free PC and MOBILE based you guys thought I was really going to spend 100 without having a plan B. I keep you guys updated! Sir big butt I did some more digging after cygnusx told me about racechrono which also does laptimes(most track maps available), roll acceleration pulls, 0-60 and more. I havent tested it yet but it looks like it picks up signal from the GPS I can see some unnaccuracy brewing up. What does pocket dyno utilize? Cause I found other programs for Nokia phones that use the accelerometer sensor. Those programs also tell you how much G your pulling! I know the I phone has that sensor too its used for the flip screen when you rotate the phone sideway. Neat lil info the Nokia N95 has an accelometer but from the factory that sensor is only used for the camera when taking pictures or videos it will rotate it for you how the phone was positioned. Like this video (my car turn it up!) not bad for a phone eh? Ofcourse, some guy had to make a rotate screen program too haha.

Most phones now have GPS blue tooth, storage devices, music players, video players, infared, WIFI, High mega pixel cameras, video outputs ! its nuts I plan on putting a 7" touch screen in the car which will connect through my laptop... which is also hooked to my MS2 and Ill have everything I want. IOld car but more like an xbox on wheels..... Or, as this post suggests you can cut the pc out of the picture; put a phone and hook it up to touchscreen(cause they got video outputs). You can play music through either one of those or put your GPS on hell you got hands free too! Just when I was going to throw a computer in a car now its moved on to phones!! My post wasnt specifically aimed at nokia vs apple or anything Just saying how cool technology is mixed up. Computers have gone in our cars in our homes, controlling vice versa now through our phones * you guys probally think Iam an old fart I am only 26 I consider myself somewhat tech savy but it even then its hard to keep up. wow im ranting I ll shut up and get back to porting the head.

  16. Besides a light resurfacing to make it true what else needs to be prepared to run a MLS gasket? I know a copper gaskets requiring O-ringing thats what steered me from that route. I havent heard of anything for a MLS. I ended up going with a ishino gasket will see how that turns out. I hope they dont block the ports like the felpro.
  17. no plug and play. depends are you trying to control fuel and spark? Now is your GM ecu a piggy back type ecu or is controlling fuel and spark. PLease read www.megamanual.com it will answer most of your questions just getting started/ than read it 4 other times just to let it marinate inside.

  20. Since this hasnt been asked . How much will compression be altered lets say with unshrowding the valves. Since you are removing material comrpession will be decreased.

  23. Did you end up putting the 2 bolts that go through triggor hub to crank pulley? I dont see it in this pic.
