  1. The GT3 I believe were lighter than the stock seats but I cant remember exactly. The shipping to Canada was nuts, roughly $500.00 Canadian, cant remember if that was with duty or not. They come with or without the headrests and can be made with leather and other options. Maybe I will make a new thread so I don't mess this one up on the OP. The seats the OP was inquiring about look real close.
  2. Sorry, cars a mess. I have the rest of the interior but not in yet....been busy working on the engine. The car came with modern sport buckets which were not my taste and way too big for the car. I have the original seats but they aren't very supportive. These look like they belong and are very comfy. I'm 5'10", 210 pounds with a wide back and love the seats. It was a huge risk as no one has them so no reviews etc. but it worked out. They offer an installation base but I used the original adjustable seat rails and mounted an adapter plate on the stock seat mounts on the floor.
  3. Yes, direct from Great Britain, I am I Canada so it was less $$$$ than buying through the states. I cant remember exactly but they are slow. Took apprx 3 months to get them. It was over the winter so I didn't mind. I wanted something better than the original seats but in a sporty classic style. Personally, I thought the Corbeau Classic was too thick at the front and didn't look sporty enough.
  4. Put the Cobra GT3 seats in my 240....had to have them !! No regrets, unique, classic and comfy. They are built to order and options are available...took forever to get them.
  5. I also have some noise from my 5 speed out of a 81 280zx. In my case I only hear it when the transmission is up to temperature and the car is idling in neutral. Noise goes completely away when the clutch pedal is pressed. I have changed oil viscosity to slightly thicker and this has made some difference but slight. My engine has a slightly lumpy cam so it doesn't idle super smooth so maybe a contributing factor. My best guess is the gears rattling around slightly while the input shaft is turning in neutral ? Nothing turns inside the tranny while the clutch is pressed in. I have read that these trannies are noisy. I'm not worried about it and will run it until there is issues. Then it will be easy to see what it was. My opinion is to try to put it out of your mind and just enjoy the ride. You could have it rebuilt and it may be the same afterward.
  6. I just put a 72 E88 on 81 F54. The F54 had the original P79 head which had two more coolant openings. When I put on the Felpro gasket listed for the 81 F54 block , I drilled out the two openings the E88 head didn't have. I fed a wire up through other openings to make sure I was drilling into a coolant passage.
  7. The fluid viscosity will also affect it....thinner = noisier
  8. Where did you run the vent line from the fuel command center ? I have the same set up as you on my L6 and it works awesome but am having venting problems. I ran my vent T'd into the gas tank vent which runs to the front left fender area and it is sucking in raw fuel into the PCV system. Looks like you may have run the vent line into the stock fuel return line ?
  9. I just installed one of their systems on my L28, works awesome. I went with their fuel command center as well. Some guys have had problems with the fuel command center but positive reviews on the TBI system.
  10. I just broke in a new cam and rockers with rotella....believe it was 15w40. The rotella doesn't have as much ZDDP in it as before. They changed the classification of it. I only ran it for about an hour, then dumped it and run Amsoil ZRod now, high ZDDP
  11. Porsche 356 coupe outlaw or Eagle Low Drag GT if I had the bucks
  12. I just installed the Arizona intake with the 390 carb too and absolutely love it. Could you provide some details on your intake set up ? I would like to do the same as I just have round 9 inch breather on it now and it could use cooler air. Yours looks awesome and it looks like you figured out a system perfectly. I'm glad I came across your thread !
  13. Yes, for some reason the coolant was blocked through all those holes on the gasket for the F54 block. Seems to concentrate coolant entry to the head by the rear two cylinders. I researched the hell out of this when I ordered mine.
  14. The one you received is 21157PT-1 is for the earlier N42 block. If you go to rockauto you can look these all up yourself.
  15. Get the right gasket. If it's a felpro you want, the part number is 8799-PT
  16. Whitehead Performance in Toronto, Canada.....ask to speak with Mike. They respond best to emails, very busy shop
  17. I feel your pain. I dropped my tranny and badly bent the same area that yours broke. I called a Datsun Performance shop and purchased a used tailshaft housing...$75.00. It's probably your easiest option if you're comfortable pulling the tranny apart. I damn near cried when I dropped it.
  18. Personally I wouldn't use it, throw it out and forget about it. Lets say in the future you get some type of lung sickness. You will be wondering about possible contributing factors. Why risk it ? That's my take anyway.
  19. I've been reading on this site for months and I believe you can remove the oil rail as long as the cam towers are blocked off where they connect. All the oil then is routed to the cam and the lobes are lubricated directly through the holes. This is the approach I am taking, as my aftermarket camshaft is internally lubricated and I also have an early E88 head with the spray bar.
  20. That's delicate work on those switches. I usually break that kind of stuff when attempted !
  21. Are those copper brake lines ? I saw copper brake lines in an auto supply store, they were easy to bend by hand without kinking.
  22. What about upgrading your ignition to an MSD as they have an adjustable rev limit and you would have better spark as well ?
